Scott Embry’s Tuesday Ascot Preview Posted on October 31, 2022October 31, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RATION ALY is a quality mare. Whether or not her best is behind her is probably a question that will be answered on Tuesday around 11:31am. In January 2021 she won a 66+ before winning a 72+ a fortnight later (beating Naughty By Nature who went on to win a Group 3 WFA). After that victory on 16 January 2021 she was not seen at the races again until September 2022. Long time away but has been holding her own in Saturday races since resuming and now drops right back into a 0MWLY. Great race for her and great use of Brandon Louis’ claim. HE’S A LUCKY LAD looks the danger. CJP goes back on. Backed off the boards last start. Big respect. TELL NOTHIN’ should be about ready now. MELARAB gets out in trip quickly. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – RATION ALY WIN RACE 2 FOREVER CLASSIC trialled super in blinkers leading into her debut. Has had two runs without blinkers and finished third to Nunes (beating home Just A Rumour) and second to stablemate The Desert Fox last Sunday at Northam. Shades now go on and many punters have been waiting for them. JUST A RUMOUR finished third in a C1 behind Here’s Dremaing and Fiorucci Mama first-up off the back of a slick trial. Drew awkwardly the Nunes maiden when wide throughout. Shades go on, Paul Harvey sticks and draws far better. CAVALLO RED caught the eye late at trials. MR MAGIC MAN trialled well leading into his debut on a bottomless heavy track. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – FOREVER CLASSIC WIN RACE 3 GALAXY AFFAIR is double nominated for a rain-soaked Mt Barker Sunday and Ascot on Tuesday. Won first-up beating Lord Gannicus (subsequent C1 & C3 winner) before heading to a 3 year old Plate behind Fly Away Home, Man Crush (split Amelia’s Jewel and Snowdome) and Saintorio (races on Saturday in a 66+). Last start finished only 2.7L off Bustler and comes back in grade into a C3. Lovely draw, well placed, great race for him. BLACK SPIRIT trialled like a mare who would be continuing her way through the grades this preparation. AIYZA is a nice filly who rarely runs a bad race. LEGACY OF TARA loomed and blew out last start. Freshened. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – GALAXY AFFAIR WIN RACE 4 MARKET STYKE was held up at a crucial stage at Kalgoorlie on Cup Day when well thought of behind Powerful. Comes from a 60+ Graduation back in grade into a C3 and should be able to hold out fellow on speed types Royal Gap and Mojo’s Luck and find the front and the fence. Straight to the top and if it’s a leaders type of track, he’ll be very hard to run down. LIL RED BIKINI probably should have finished in the money last start. Raced without any luck when Jason Brown was the meat in the sandwich (served on Rustic Rye Sourdough for Browny). ROYAL GAP landed huge bets last start at Geraldton. This is tougher but Ash Maley has him flying. BANDALERA BEAU will come hard late. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – MARKET STRYKE WIN RACE 5 MANAVENDRA broke his maiden impressively and then chased hard on speed behind Canny Coni. Never gave it away and looked like he wanted further and further. His dam Shinta Mani, won a Kalgoorlie Cup so in theory the extra trip should suit him. Team Pearce have been in form for months and Chris Parnham should have him in a lovely position throughout. RARE ENCOUNTER stepped from an 1100m to 1400m and that looked to do the trick. Her efforts at Geraldton in defeat were only moderate but she travelled the winner throughout and beat home a handy filly in Fashion Stakes. Draws to settle close handy and looks like she’s wanting a mile. Winnable race. VEVINSKY can improve quickly. DUSTY’S GOT TALENT was better than it reads fresh. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MANAVENDRA WIN RACE 6 WILD BELLE won a Belmont trial under a hold by almost 4L and then was highly popular in betting at Northam resuming. She won by 6.75L over Star Power and then there was a further 3.3L back to third. She simply broke them apart and ran seriously good time. Worth remembering it was a heavily leaders surface, but to the eye she looked seriously sharp. Exciting filly. VILLAGE GIRL has a set of shades going on at start number three. Made an impression on debut and then was better than it reads start two. SKY DUKE kept coming fresh. AQUAPISHE brings Quality Vic Form. Numbers: 11 – 10 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – WILD BELLE WIN RACE 7 NO DICE was solid first-up in a muddlingly run race which was actually turned into a good form reference race (Ghost Who Walks, Street Parade, Queenship and Critical Altitude) all running well subsequently. Second-up she loomed and looked the winner everywhere but the post. Critical Altitude has won again since to make the form look good and there’s a lot of horses with question marks over them in this. Going well. ROCKIN’ RUPERT will likely settle in a similar position to her in running and they’ll come with their runs together. Not much luck last start behind Bustler and prior to that ran an outrageous L600, 400 & 200. CHEERFUL MOMENT is a query back to 1200. GLASGOW GIRL can jump and run. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – NO DICE WIN RACE 8 AMELIA’S JEWEL will be the talk of the track on Melbourne Cup day. She’s four from four undefeated and the dominant 2 year old resumed with a classy and gritty win in the Belgravia Stakes. Steps to 1400m and draws a gate where she’s likely to settle worse than midfield. If they’re not making ground on Tuesday it give a wonderful gauge on just how good she is. If they are swooping down the centre on Tuesday, watch out. VAMPI AT PLAY looks the mapped horse to test her. Luckless first-up and should be poised ready to strike behind the leaders. LACED UP HEELS looks a sharp filly. She will settle in a similar position to Amelia’s Jewel and has a big L600. PENNY ON THE QUEEN was huge in the Belgravia. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – AMELIA’S JEWEL WIN Same Race Multi – Amelia’s Jewel (Top 2) + Vampi At Play (Top 3) RACE 9 STYLAX resumed from a two month freshen over 1800m and then 7 days later dropped back to a mile when finishing third behind Mystery Island and Strike Now. Has a wide gate but drops back into a C3 and there looks to be a 3 deep train in this event. He will be coming home hard late. MACK MACK has only been winning at Kalgoorlie but looks progressive. RECALLED was disappointing last start. He can bounce back quickly. HEAPS OF MOOLAH will look to cross them and find the fence. Can roll them along. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – STYLAX WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 11 2,3,5,6 1,2,4 3,4,11 Market Market
