Scott Embry’s Friday Roebourne Preview Posted on June 9, 2022June 9, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GINGER SENORITA heads north with the travelling Anne King team and looks really hard to beat in her first start on the dirt. Last time out she chased hard behind Global Conflict and first-up she finished only 4L off Desert Vixen. Small field suits, on pace race pattern suits and Cassey Martinan has now had two rides to familiarise herself with the mare. Short and sweet. NOT REALLY TRUE finished fourth at Carnarvon behind Nero Chin Chin (who has since won again). Looks the logical (only?) danger on paper. GILT DRAGON is still a maiden but hasn’t been too bad in six starts to date. RAUNCHY MISS was beaten out of sight at Carnarvon. Needs to improve. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – GINGER SENORITA WIN RACE 2 STRIKE FORCE is race fit and should punch forward into a prominent position in running. Last preparation he lead throughout to win a 70+ over 1435m at Broome under Austin Galati and this looks a suitable assignment for him to bounce back into the winner’s circle. ABLE ENGINE might have something to say about him rolling forward and leading the event because he’s first-up and fresh without a trial. RHINO BUSTER has been a marvel over the years and there’s no reason why he can’t win first-up either. LUCKY LINDA LULU might take a few starts to find her feet on the dirt. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – STRIKE FORCE WIN RACE 3 TEST OF STRENGTH went around at 80-1 first-up no trial at Carnarvon almost a year between outings. Michael Ball produced him for a big victory over Weld and The Divine Wind in what is still the highest rating race produced yet this season at Carnarvon. 34 days later he finds himself in Roebourne and he should be hard to beat again. PEPPIJACK has had 89 days between runs as he heads North and joins the stables of Dean Cocivera. You would think that he’s the kind of horse who would be able to win a 56+ and then head into 68+ company and give his new connections a bit of fun in the region. GRECO is hard to run down when he can find the front and control. MACAVITY might need the run. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – TEST OF STRENGTH WIN RACE 4 KING OF PLANETS is a handy enough sprinter for this region and last preparation he raced mainly at Broome. He won back to back 58+ 1200m races before heading to Derby and winning his third in a line. Looks like crossing and leading and from there looks really hard to run down at his return. SMART FOX has his first start for Tank Pateman and is very speedy when they let him run. Interesting to see whether he can hold King of Planets and how he handles the dirt. GREYWOLF is very proven in this grade and higher. Always big respect. REVEREND JOHN likely needs further. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – KING OF PLANETS WIN RACE 5 LEADER BIAS had his first start for Michelle Blanke and his first start in WA in Kalgoorlie when second to Vranyo. Sat over the speed and fought hard late in the finish. That kind of on speed race pattern should be suited to Roebourne and he can work his way across from a wide gate. IM BELIEVABLE ran well at the opening meeting at Carnarvon. Should be there abouts. MISS SILVERSPRINGS improves for the dirt experience from Carnarvon. PINTS AND PRAWNS a watch. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – LEADER BIAS WIN RACE 6 FLYING ARABIAN should be simply too brilliant for his opposition over 1100m. He was an all the way winner by over 3L first-up no trial at Esperance and then reproduced it second up with a strong all the way win in a C2 beating home Born Spicy. At his third start he ran into now metro winner Premium Choice and was far from disgraced. Looks the winner. SHINJU can punch up in behind and should be a nice horse for this grade of racing in the NW. FOO TROUBLE didn’t seem to handle the Broome surface last season so take care first-up. NORTHERN CHILL next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLYING ARABIAN WIN RACE 7 MODERN TIMES looks to have found a really nice race to break through. Second over 1100 in a 56+, second over 1300m in a C2, second over 1400m in a C2, third over 1000m in a 56+, third over 1200m in a C2 and then stretched out to an unsuitable 1600m last start. Travels up to Roebourne, gets into a 1200m event and should be able to cross, lead and get away from them. ZEEWIJK broke his maiden at Moora by panels (5.5L). Keep safe off the back of a really good trial. HAWK is a maiden in a C3 but travelled well on the dirt at Carnarvon last start. I HOPE YOU DANCE is a consistent little mare. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – MODERN TIMES WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3 1,2,3,4,5,7 3 1,3 Market Market
