Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 9, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 STREET HAWK (5) has impressed in winning his two starts since crossing the Tasman and is the one to beat despite his awkward draw. WHOS THE DAD (4) is racing extremely well and has the barrier advantage over his main rival so should give a great sight. PAUL EDWARD (10) has finished 2nd at his last three starts and should be in the finish again. ETON ROCK (2) has won three of his last five starts and the rise in class is offset by his nice draw. Tips: 5 4 10 2 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (5) to win. Race 2 WILL I ROCKNROLL (2) led throughout in 1.56.6 here three starts back and a similar performance will see him very hard to beat tonight. CAVEMAN (7) has faced the breeze at his last three starts and recorded two wins and a close 2nd here last week. He is likely to take up the same position tonight and should fight out the finish. PRADASON (6) won back-to-back races before running into trouble last week and can play a part. MIDDLEPAGE (4) is racing well and should get the chance to show his strength tonight. Tips: 2 7 6 4 Suggested Bet: WILL I ROCKNROLL (2) to win. Race 3 SIMBA BROMAC (1) is first-up for a new stable but won a recent Bunbury trial by 21m and should give a sight from the pole. JACK FARTHING (3) led throughout to defeat a similar field at his last start and must be considered. GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) has won four of his five starts this time in and is a great winning chance if there is a solid early tempo. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (8) is flying and will be running on but the draw makes it hard. Tips: 1 3 6 8 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (1) each way. Race 4 DOUBLE UP (2) sprinted brilliantly to win here last week and has options at the start from his nice draw. WHILE THEY PRAY (4) has won two of his last three starts and will be hard to beat if he can bully his way to the front in the early stages. TO FAST TO SERIOUS (5) continues to hit the line nicely and will win one of these events when he can get the right cart into the race. SAVVY BROMAC (3) caught the eye when a close-up 5th here last week and is capable of upsetting the boys with the right run. Tips: 2 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (2) to win. Race 5 EZANA (1) won three on end to start this campaign before facing the breeze when a game 2nd to Markham Eyre. He draws to lead tonight and should prove very hard to catch. HILLVIEW BONDI (7) won three on end before running a game 2nd at his last start and is the obvious danger despite the draw. COOL WATER PADDY (10) was only plain at his first run in the state but should trail the favourite and improve tonight. SOCRATES (9) has won five of his past six starts but has a horror draw to overcome. Tips: 1 7 10 9 Suggested Bet: EZANA (1) to win. Race 6 BETTOR BE LIVELY (1) ran a solid 2nd here two starts and gets his chance to lead here and is clearly the one to beat. VALBONNE (10) had been racing well before his last-start failure in a stand and should enjoy a nice run from this barrier. EUPHORIA (9) has the best form in race but will need to work in the run at some stage from his wide draw. ALTA RHETT (6) has been racing in stronger fields and is capable of causing an upset if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 1 10 9 6 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (10) each way. Race 7 MIGHT AS WELL (4) has won four of her five career starts and is the one to beat despite looking likely to settle in the breeze here. AMERICAN ARMA (8) is back to her best with three wins on the trot but will be giving her main rivals a big head-start in the run. DYNAMITE DOLLY (1) has won two of her last four starts in easier company and can play a part from the pole. MISS BOUDICA (7) has only been placed in one of her five starts this time in but there has been merit in her last three runs and she will be hitting the line. Tips: 4 8 1 7 Suggested Bet: MIGHT AS WELL (4) to win. Race 8 SPIRIT OF AN ANGEL (3) couldn’t make up the required ground when 3rd in a sprint home at her last start but draws to be prominent throughout here and should give a great sight. ZEPHYRA (8) ran on well to win at her second race start and was sent for a spell. She resumes here but has trialled nicely and looks like a promising filly. BETWEEN TWO THORNS (7) was an impressive winner on debut and should make her presence felt despite being first-up without a trial. LADY VIOLETTA (1) didn’t have a lot go right on debut and could be an improver from the pole. Tips: 3 8 7 1 Suggested Bet: SPIRIT OF AN ANGEL (3) to win. Race 9 MASTER PUBLISHER (4) resumed with a fast-finishing 3rd here last week and should strip fitter for that effort and appeals as the one to beat. MCARDLES GEM (2) looks a good chance to find the pegs and should give a sight at good each way odds. FASTER THAN DAD (11) is inexperienced but has ability and looks suited in this field. POCKET THE CASH (10) is first-up and has an awkward draw but raced in stronger company last time in and will be hitting the line hard if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 4 2 11 10 Suggested Bet: MCARDLES GEM (2) each way. Race 10 MAJESTIC DREAM (5) has won two of his last four starts and will be hard to beat if he steps safely and trots throughout. DARK SECRET (7) was an impressive last start winner and looks the obvious danger. TEARS OF JOY (1) is a reliable trotter who looks a good place chance from the pole. LIGHTNING CALDER (6) was a solid 3rd at his last start and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 5 7 1 6 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC DREAM (5) to win. Market Market
