Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 27, 2022January 27, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 REGAL SCRIBE (10) has performed well at his last two starts and will be right in the finish if he has any luck from his awkward barrier. MACHS GOLD (1) has finished worse than midfield at his two runs back from as spell but will appreciate the drop in class and pole draw. HAS NO FEAR (3) has a sharp turn of foot and is always dangerous with the right run. MATTJESTIC STAR (4) is another who drops in class and it wouldn’t surprise to see him driven aggressively to find the front here. Tips: 10 1 3 4 Suggested Bet: REGAL SCRIBE (10) each way. Race 2 STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (2) has been racing well in stronger company and looks the one to beat but has been racing better with a sit of late so the early tactics will be interesting. MISTER BUSHIDO (4) is first-up after a 13-month absence but did trial nicely recently and looks the obvious danger. BILLY MACK (1) doesn’t have the class of his two main rivals but looks a good place chance from the pole. ALTA RHETT (11) has been placed in eight of his past 11 starts and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 4 1 11 Suggested Bet: STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (2) to win. Race 3 TYLER BRETT (1) has been placed at his last four starts but draws to lead here and should give a great sight. GAMBIT (4) is racing extremely consistently and his ability to breeze or run on from midfield will see him right in the finish. DOUBLE UP (2) loves to follow the speed and should enjoy a nice run in transit and be thereabouts at each way odds. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (3) was an impressive all-the-way winner here last week but is one-dimensional and may not finds the top tonight. Tips: 1 4 2 3 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE UP (2) each way. Race 4 MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) was below his best after three weeks between runs when finishing towards the rear in the Fremantle Cup. He should strip fitter for that effort and is clearly the one to beat here. GALACTIC STAR (1) isn’t racing at his top but is proven at this level and will give a sight from the pole. HOWARD HUGHES (6) is a classy customer but he is first up and will need things to go his way to upset the favourite. BLETCHLEY PARK (3) hasn’t had much luck of late but doesn’t appear to be at the top of his game. Tips: 7 1 6 3 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (7) to win. Race 5 BEEFOUR BACARDI (4) has won four of his last five starts and looks a good chance to find the top and he will be very hard to beat in that role. TRICKY RIC (6) has plenty of ability and must be considered first-up after a solid trial against the pacers. MAJESTIC DREAM (5) defeated BEEFOUR BACARDI (4) at his last start and should be in the finish with the right run in transit. LINE THE STARZZZ (3) is a consistent trotter who has been racing well in weaker company and can be placed. Tips: 4 6 5 3 Suggested Bet: BEEFOUR BACARDI (4) to win. Race 6 GOLDEN STATE (1) hasn’t won for over two years but has been placed at his last two starts and gets his chance to shoot for an all-the-way victory here. NOTA BENE DENARIO (2) is racing extremely well with two wins and a 2nd from his last three starts and is the obvious danger. ALTA INTRIGUE (4) disappointed at his last start and needs the race run to suit but can be dangerous. SIR GALAHAD (6) was fancied to beat Mighty Ronaldo here last week but his fitness gave out in the late stages. Tips: 1 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN STATE (1) to win. Race 7 SAHARA STORM (2) led throughout for consecutive victories in December before being unplaced in her last two attempts from bad draws. She looks the likely leader here and should prove hard to catch. SHEEZ OUR HOPE (8) returned to her best with a fast-finishing victory here last week and is the obvious danger. ALY SHAR (1) is a last-start winner drawn to get a lovely run and shouldn’t be far away. PUREST SILK (5) impressed at her second run back from a long break and is still improving. Tips: 2 8 1 5 Suggested Bet: SAHARA STORM (2) to win. Race 8 ORLANDO BLUE (2) won four in a row before running a strong 3rd from the breeze at his last start and is the testing material. DOMINUS FACTUM (1) has led throughout to win two of his last four starts and will give a great sight from the pole. ARMA EINSTEIN (4) hit the line nicely when 2nd to Typhoon Banner at his last start and will be charging home if the favoured pair cut at each other. OVERJOYED (3) should enjoy a nice run just off the speed and looks a good place chance. Tips: 2 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: ORLANDO BLUE (2) to win. Race 9 WONDERFUL TO FLY (1) won her last two starts before a break and overcame the wide draw to finish 3rd to SONIC SUZY (1) at her return. She gets the barrier advantage tonight and is now the one to beat. TAKING THE MIKI (2) finished 2nd in that event after facing the breeze and is the obvious danger. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (3) wasn’t far away in that event and can sneak into the money at a big price. SONIC SUZY (5) defeated a similar field at her last start but is unlikely to find the top here. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (1) to win. Race 10 PRINCE OF PLEASURE (2) raced in top company in NZ and his recent 40m trial victory suggests he should have the measure of this field. SOHO GIGOLO (1) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and should be in the finish. PRADASON (9) has been placed in four of his past five starts and has the speed to overcome his wide draw. POCKET THE CASH (6) has disappointed in his two starts back from a spell but can be a sharp improver here. Tips: 2 1 9 6 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PLEASURE (2) to win. Market Market
