Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 11, 2021November 11, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NOWHITEFLAG was completely and utterly dominant at his return to racing. Stepped out to 1200m for the first time in his career and destroyed them. Haven’t seen one eased down from the 200 and still winning by over 2L in a long while and he looks well and truly destined for bigger and better things. Lots of eyes will be on him at start number two in the prep. WRITTEN MATTER is no slouch and expecting that he will make a race of it. Recent trial was sharp and the yard in unstoppable at the minute. Following him this preparation as a 4 year old. FAIRY FAST is lightly raced and clearly talented. Looks like they’ve had a few issues to work through over her career but if they can keep her sound, she’ll win plenty more. ULTIMATE COMMAND was solid at her return. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – NOWHITEFLAG WIN RACE 2 MEGADON is looking for a winning hattrick and Ash Maley calls on the services of W.Pike to ensure he gives this 7 year old the best opportunity of winning a Heat of the Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum series and hopefully at least qualify him for the $100,000 Final on Winterbottom Stakes day. Showing tactical speed that he didn’t possess in a previous stable and able to take full advantage of the beautiful barrier. SNIPPY MISS comes from the Nowhiteflag form which is expected to hold up and will attract plenty of times merchants. WILD FUSION won first-up at 1400m in a Westspeed Platinum last preparation and Earl O’Loughlin follows the same path here. HOLY ENCHANTMENT trialled back in September. Not sure why he hasn’t been to the races but it’s a small red flag. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MEGADON EACHWAY RACE 3 WILCHINO vs TRIPLE MISSILE is likely to be the talking point in the race but certainly don’t forget or discount SECRET PLAN who had no luck at all last start when tramping three deep the trip from an awkward gate in muddlingly run race. Expecting that WILCHINO will likely let Ziebell go early considering he is now drawn inside her compared to last start when she was drawn inside of him. Regardless they’ll turn the speed on early. TRIPLE MISSILE broke 11 seconds for his final furlong last start. He will be all the rage and if he wins, he’ll be well thought of in the Winterbottom. Big opportunity thrown to Mitchell Pateman. Settles last and will have to time his run. SECRET PLAN is three back the fence and dangerous from there. WILCHINO steps to 1200m for the first time in her life, is unlikely to find the fence and has to lump 60kg. HOT ZED is too good to leave out of the first four. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – TRIPLE MISSILE RACE 4 GOD HAS CHOSEN has only had two starts for Lindsey Smith but looks like he’ll be winning more than he loses the way he’s progressing. Looks a raw talent who is destined to win bigger and better races in time. Sliding his way through the grades means that he’ll remain low in the weights and he has serious gears. Going to keep following him. BLINDER is a newcomer to Western Australia who has impressed in a few quiet trials under Laqdar Ramoly. Gets in with 60kg after the claim and was a winner first-up at 1400m last preparation at Caulfield in a similar quality of race (BM78 = ~66+) and from the draw should enjoy a lovely run in transit. Worth consideration at odds. SHE’S GOD TO YOU hit the line well under little pressure last start. Second-up last preparation beat Kaptain Kaos in a 1400m 3yo 62+. GINGER FLYER is in career best form. She can measure up. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – GOD HAS CHOSEN WIN RACE 5 KISSONALLFORCHEEKS was plunged in the Asian Beau Stakes. Opened up $4.80 with Tabtouch on the Wednesday afternoon and by the time they were loading in there were punters nationwide lining up to take $2.15 on the jump. Unfortunately for Clint Johnston-Porter, Danny Morton and connections things didn’t go to plan at all. She was caught wide early, had to burn plenty to roll to the top in an unfamiliar role of pacemaker and then was swamped at the top of the straight. From gate 1 she can allow Cockney Crew to do all the work and that allows CJP to ride his own race. KAPTAIN KAOS descended upon them in the Northam Cup to notch his first Listed Victory. Prior to that was beaten by Kissonallforcheeks and meets her 2.5kg worse at the weights. Has huge X-Factor but will need the perfect ride. LUKE’S GOLD is back in career best form as a 9 year old. Remarkable career. COCKNEY CREW will march them along. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – KISSONALLFORCHEEKS WIN RACE 6 MIDNIGHT BLUE is a classy 5 year old who would almost certainly hold All-In Favouritism for this year’s Perth Cup on New Years Day (yes we’re finally back where it belongs). Caught the eye at his return to racing when finishing off strongly late in the race through significant traffic and meets Temptaction 4kg better at the weights as well as the addition of W.Pike into the saddle. Looks the kind of horse worth following into all the lead up staying features over the summer. MR DELEGATOR is the new kid on the block and is currently smashing the clock. Races well fresh, makes his own luck and looks capable of turning this into a staying test from the 600. TAXAGANO really attacked the line in the Northam Cup. He is well suited in these handicap conditions and from the draw can hold a position. TEMPTACION races 4.5kg outside the handicap but has a great turn of speed. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 2 – 13 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLUE WIN RACE 7 BUZZOOM and SEARCHIN’ ROC’S are the lead up feature winners of the Burgess Queen Stakes and Belgravia Stakes respectively. They ran the quinella on Melbourne Cup Day and on paper it looks as though they will run the quinella in the Champion Fillies. Both look like they’ll eat up 1600m and both look head and shoulders above the rest. BUZZOOM is drawn a barrier which gives Chris Parnham far more options than Kyra Yuill and she has the tactical speed to put herself into any position he desires. Hard not to like they way she exploded through the gaps in the Burgess Queen. SEARCHIN’ ROC’S was put into the race at the top of the straight that day and was left vulnerable. Expecting her to be ridden more conservatively here. MY FURY was caught up in the traffic jams and still hit the line full of running. HOI AN is yet to show up as a 3 year old. D-Day at Set Weights. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – BUZZOOM WIN RACE 8 STAGEMAN is a hard horse to catch but at Set Weights and Penalties this looks the best chance he’ll get all campaign to win a feature. Ran second in the Prince of Wales behind Elite Street, ran a faster last 600 than him and importantly meets him 3kg better at the weights. From the draw he will most likely end up in the moving line and this looks race where they’ll be swooping home down the centre. Eachway price and should run his typical eachway race. ELITE STREET is looking to continue his clean sweep. Won the Crawford in style, won the Prince of Wales at WFA with arrogance and is more than capable of overcoming 59.5kg and barrier 14 in the Colonel Reeves on his way to the Winterbottom. GRACEFUL GIRL is a m81 rater who would be getting 15.5kg on Elite Street in a Handicap. Clearly not well weighted but has a barnstorming finish on her which can put her into the mix. MONEY MATTERS can track up behind Mervyn. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 15 – 4 Suggested Bet – STAGEMAN EACHWAY RACE 9 ACROMANTULA is a highly talented front running speedster. Probably would have preferred if this was race 4 and not race 9 considering that the SW is likely to be blowing by this stage of the day, however, his recent trial was electric and from the inside gate he should have no trouble holding them out and finding the front. Flies fresh and is a 1000m specialist. BROOKLYN PIER looks the map horse. Can let the speed battle unfold in front of him and be chiming in at the perfect time on straightening. THE FRONT BAR is a versatile filly and considering the barrier and the speed drawn underneath her expecting that she will be saved up for one last burst. THIS’LL TESTYA can be hit and miss. Interesting to see if Holly Watson can get her out of the gates. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – ACROMANTULA WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,8,9,13 2,3 1,3,4,7,15 3,5,10 Market Market
