Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview Posted on January 12, 2021January 12, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SESSIONELLE resumed at 1700m and ran a solid second behind Frequent Friar. Huge query on that as a form reference but you could say that about this entire 6 horse field. Gets the services of Paul Harvey and that can be the different. GLENAUREEN hasn’t done anything wrong and looks like going close again. Knocking on the door constantly. RIP AND SNIP and BRYCE ROAD clashed at Narrogin and couldn’t run down King Cabernet. They can fill the minors with no weight. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – SESSIONELLE WIN RACE 2 ALLMAMONEY was a really nice trial when hitting the line and running through the line under a hold. Only the one public appearance but looks to have a motor. Live chance on debut. MARKINSON showed speed at trials to get across. Interesting to see if Yuill uses it on debut. Scratched last Wednesday to save for this assignment on his home track. I’M EUGENE looks the likely leader drawn the inside gate. Has always shown ability since his trial days and is now adding gate speed to his strengths. FILBY hails from the ever in form Paul Roberts yard and trialled like he would be winning races. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALLMAMONEY WIN RACE 3 MISCHIEVIOUS DIVA has been a little costly to follow of recent times. Clearly has a stack of natural talent and raw ability but is still very new and very green. Shaun O’Donnell picks up the ride and he looks the perfect rider for a filly like her. This is a weak field and from the draw she should be afforded every mortal hope. MINI COAT finished fourth in the same race as Mischievous Diva and ran home in a similar final 600 split. SUNSPHERE didn’t fire fresh but can improve here. MORSE resumes and from the inside draw gets a soft run. Numbers: 12 – 13 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MISCHIEVIOUS DIVA WIN RACE 4 APACHE PATROL didn’t get a lot of luck last week. Was trying to get a run in behind horses and probably would have if Shaun McGruddy was trying to push out under any jockey except Paul Harvey. Kept in a pocket until the race was all over and then hit the line well into third. Blinkers on, 7 day back-up, SJ Miller stable in brilliant form. Ticks a lot of boxes. GINGER BAKER was beaten by Apache Patrol first-up. Good strong win last start and looks to be getting better and better. PURPLE PEARL dominated from on speed last start in a walk and sprint race on a heavily leader dominated pad. KING ROAD showed a bit at trials recently. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – APACHE PATROL WIN RACE 5 BOMBARDMENT is brilliantly placed back into 46+ company. Backs up off 7 days and drops from a C5 back into a 46+. Kristy Bennett picks up the ride and she is going great guns in 2021. Can slide forward from the awkward gate and with any luck should be very hard to beat. BEST SUSPECT comes back in trip and has been going much better than it reads on paper at the staying trips. Comes from a pair of strong form races and looks the logical danger. SEA SPRING is racing well but doesn’t know how to win. AHYOKA FROST in a similar vein. Going well but doesn’t win races. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – BOMBARDMENT WIN RACE 6 SAFE TO MAKEUP drops back 300m from the staying trips and also drops in grade. Has been going well enough since joining Justin Warwick and the jury has probably always been out on whether she is a genuine stayer. Got a feeling this might be her best distance and from the inside gate she’ll do no work in the run. REBEL HEART ran well last start and is a real tryer. Darren McAullife’s yard has been in form for 12 months and she will run another big race. TICK ALONG is drawn awkwardly but going well. Brett Pope’s yard looks like they’re about to wheel out a few winners. SHIVERS OF JOY has had no luck last couple. Improver with the senior on. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SAFE TO MAKEUP WIN RACE 7 TINTO BELLE is flying and there is no reason she can’t go through the grades. Seems to appreciate being kept to the sprint trip and from the draw she doesn’t have to concede them the same head start as she did at Ascot first-up or second-up. Improving type and a mare in form. SHINJU is brilliantly placed back into C3 company. Might have a lot of weight but he is a 66+ winner in a C3. Has to go close. WESTERNIZE comes from inferior form on paper but has raced without luck the majority of his career. JAKESTAR an interesting runner, especially if ridden for pure speed. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – TINTO BELLE WIN RACE 8 ROMAN FLIRT ran well first-up at 1400m and from the inside gate should get a soft run either leader’s back or more likely three back the fence. Does no work from there and kept fresh can again sprint well with the right run and a bit of luck in the home straight. SPEEDY MISS always gets under the guard of the market. Has been very well placed by the Pearce yard and again finds a winnable race. BRUCE ALMIGHTY was a massive effort last start. Once he finds form he tends to hold it. TRADENSIA was below her best last start. May have gone too slow for her own good. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – ROMAN FLIRT WIN RACE 9 CHISANO was a first-up winner in this grade last preparation. There is a stack of speed drawn outside of her (Boyish, Snipillicious, Greco, Dolly Em, Orange Strudel) so you would think that Victoria Cover should get a nice run just in behind them once they settle down. Looks well placed in an evenly graded affair. BANJO MAN might get under the guard. Has excellent race form for a race like this and maps to get a soft run midfield in a high pressure 1100. NORSKE CODE drops from a high rating C5 into a 46+. From the gate she should be finishing hard late. BON VOYAGE rates well for this if he gains a start. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 8 – 15 Suggested Bet – CHISANO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,6,8 1,6,7 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 2,3,4,7,8,10,(15) Market Market
