Got back and loomed the winner but was unable to reel in the stablemates The Spruiker and Rock Hard Omaru. Draws in gate 2 and this time around Shaun McGruddy might take luck out of the equation and send him straight to the top. Will punters butter up? ROCK HARD OMARU was a really good effort first-up and is the logical danger to the favourite. SPIRIT OF PROPHECY was sectionally the run of the race first-up and looks to have ability. ISLAND CHARM is knocking on the door and gets in with no weight as a 3 year old filly. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – CONVALESCE WIN RACE 2 SNIPILLICIOUS is part owned by WA’s favourite strapping sensation and Tokyo 2020 2km Gold Medal Favourite Sir Tim Paris and on debut ran second to Madam Torio and beat home Iron Sharp, Spirited Session, Seven Kingdoms and Better In Kit. That looks like super form for an Albany maiden. Sharp 400m jump out, Laqdar Ramoly on, cross, breeze and win (hopefully). COUNT THE SESSIONS ran well on debut and from the inside draw should hold a position. OUR PANDEMONIUM looked handy at the Albany trials back in October. WORZEL is speedy and had no luck at Barker when running second. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNIPPILICIOUS WIN RACE 3 CALBANESCO might not have won for 1000 days but Leanne Howlett looks to have him back. The trial beating Mr Mt Walker and Fangio at Albany was super and was brilliant when chasing Tramontane around a highly on speed Mt Barker track. Thinking that the drought can be broken here. MISS CIRCLEWORK put on a clinic at Collie and then comes from an extremely high rating 1200m race at Bunbury behind Home In Five, Airlie Queen and Jakestar. That form could look outstanding by Sunday. TOSCANA was a soft maiden winner on debut. Could be above average. SOLARIZE Is honest and consistent. Numbers: 11 – 8 – 10 – 2 Suggested Bet – CALBANESCO EACHWAY RACE 4 BILLY JACK showed an abundance of promise and ability in the Great Southern last preparation for Bob Bell and then surprisingly resumed at Carnarvon on the dirt. Sat off the track and monstered them. Then went back to the grass at Geraldton and was in a different postcode to Invictus Domini. Returns to Albany and will be interesting to see how he measures up. AMBER HIGHWAY ran out of his skin first-up at Mt Barker and will only improve with the distance increase. UBER MOVER comes out of a race at Collie but has run some nice races in C1s in the metro and provincial area. VEDDER an improver at third WA outing. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – BILLY JACK WIN RACE 5 MISS ZEDEL has only had two starts for Adam Durrant and undoubtedly is looking for further but this is a nice race for her. Gets in with 58kg after the claim for the State’s in form apprentice. Fourth behind Tonkatuff, Peppijack and Prevailing Winds followed up with a fifth to Cornflower, Ay Tee Emm and Beffunjar. Holds a position and should give punters a sight. MR MT WALKER raced below expectations first-up. Good use of the stable apprentice and Snaggers Sardelic riding well. OXBRIDGE is capable of improving sharply second-up. FANGIO resumes here and can lead or box seat from the inside draw. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – MISS ZEDEL WIN RACE 6 WHAT ABOUT MOSES is a super fresh horse. Two preparations ago resumed in a Western Platinum Handicap at Belmont when nosed out by Lookout. Last preparation resumed in a C2 at Albany and saluted. Gets in with only 54.5kg, progressive type, fresh type, drawn a gate. Ticks almost all the boxes. He could win this and even the final at Ascot. Talented type so fingers crossed #wolfey has him ready. READ THE RIOT ACT has to carry weight but loves the 1200 at Albany. WILLOW RIVER was a revelation last preparation and went through the grades nicely. DANEHILL STORM won well at Barker but this is tougher. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOSES WIN RACE 7 GO CRYING comes back to Albany after having his last 15 outings at either Ascot or Belmont in higher grade than this. Over that time is a 64+ winner and placed in Graduation 60+ grade. This is astute placement by Steve Wolfe and from the draw regular rider Peter Knuckey can settle him one out and two back midfield. EURASIA has far and away the strongest race form and if Snaggers Sardelic can give him an economical run from a horror gate then he’ll be hard to hold out. RECAPIUTLATE is thriving on being allowed to roll. Expecting Holly Watson to release the hand brake at the 800. KENDEL’S MEE DAD out to keep his undefeated Albany record intact. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – GO CRYING WIN RACE 8 DIABLERIE is a model of consistency and it looks like Summer Dickson has him back to some of his better form of the last 12/18 months. From the gate Kyra Yuill can have him in the box seat or sitting three back the fence with a smother. If he gets clear air he’ll flash late. MY GREEK BOY normally only races in Albany for the Fitzpatrick Plate so to see him in a ratings race is rare and exciting. Capable of carrying 62.5kg to victory. POTENT SECRET doesn’t know he is 10 and won well at Barker. ZETORIO will need to navigate a shocking draw.
