Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 4, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 DOUBLE EXPRESSO (9) has won 12 of her 19 career starts and was a brave 2nd in the Diamond Classic after doing all of the work. She is drawn poorly again but will still give a great sight. ALTA LOUISA (4) started favourite and wasn’t beaten far in that race and is the best drawn of the main chances. BLOCKJORG (12) won the Diamond Classic and must be respected but isn’t as well drawn here. SUING YOU (7) has been a notch below the top fillies but her last two wins against weaker company have been ultra-impressive. Tips: 9 4 12 7 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE EXPRESSO (9) to win. Race 2 ULTIMATE OFFER (2) was impressive in winning two on end but didn’t handle the tough trip when beaten into 7th as a $1.40 favourite here last week. He is better drawn tonight and can bounce back. INFATUATION (6) has won eight of his 14 career starts and is the obvious danger. TELLMETOATTACK (1) has won two of his last three starts and his gate speed gives him options at the start. ALTA RHETT (10) is drawn to get a soft trip on the pegs and can be placed at odds. Tips: 2 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: TELLMETOATTACK (1) each way. Race 3 JIMMY MACK (4) didn’t perform at his peak last campaign, only managing to win one of his ten starts. He has trialled nicely for his return and should give a great sight first-up. EXTREME PRINCE (2) is racing consistently and will be hard to catch if he can find the top. THE DALI EXPRESS (12) was placed at his last four starts before a spell and has had the benefits of two recent trials so should be ready for this assignment. ONE FOR DAVE ANDME (5) was a brave 2nd here after leading last week but has an awkward draw tonight. Tips: 4 2 12 5 Suggested Bet: JIMMY MACK (4) to win. Race 4 RUNAWAY THREE (4) has been racing well and was a very brave 2nd to The Bird Dance here after facing the breeze last week. This looks an easier assignment and he will be hard to beat. MARQUISARD (2) finished towards the rear in the same event last week but can improve if he can find the top tonight. CARTER MICHEAL (11) will be fitter for his first-up run and would win this if near his top. PARISIAN PARTYGIRL (6) is racing consistently in mares’ company and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 4 2 11 6 Suggested Bet: RUNAWAY THREE (4) to win. Race 5 OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (1) is an 11YO but is still racing with commendable zest. He was held up when 6th and last behind Chicago Bull at his last start but can press for an all-the-way victory here and looks the one to beat. OCEAN RIDGE (4) defeated Shockwave and Chicago Bull here three starts back and has a turn of foot that makes him extremely dangerous with the right trip. BLETCHLEY PARK (5) and TAROONA BROMAC (3) both step up in class after recording consecutive victories and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (1) to win. Race 6 MIGHTY SANTANA (7) has been forced to race near the rear at his last two starts but can be driven more aggressively here and looks a big improver. HY LEEXCITING (2) has been unplaced at his past eight starts but will give a great sight if he can find the top. BETTOR BE OSCAR (6) has won three of his last six starts and looks the other main winning chance. MISTER ARDEE (3) raced in stronger company last time in and can play a part first-up from his nice draw. Tips: 7 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY SANTANA (7) to win. Race 7 DANCING WITH MACH (1) will appreciate the significant drop in class and pole barrier tonight. She is the likely leader in a race devoid of pressure and looks the one to beat. MY PRAYER (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on her stablemate’s back and looks the main danger. PAMY JUNE (11) is an improved mare who has two wins and two placings from her four starts this campaign and shouldn’t be far away. MISSPLAY (6) is racing fairly but the awkward draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 10 11 6 Suggested Bet: DANCING WITH MACH (1) to win. Race 8 MIRACLE MOOSE (6) hasn’t finished further back than 2nd in his past eight starts and has won three of his last four. He defeated a similar field at his last run and is clearly the one to beat again. GANGBUSTER (1) led throughout to win from this draw last week and must be considered despite the rise in class. SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (3) is battling away in his races and might be sharper after a fortnight between runs. PIERRE WHITBY (4) is always charging home and can be dangerous with the right trip. Tips: 6 1 3 4 Suggested Bet: MIRACLE MOOSE (6) to win. Race 9 KILOWATT KID (6) has impressed in winning three of his four starts in WA, including two from the stand. He is drawn wide but looks the one to beat with a safe beginning. KINGSLAYER (9) has to overcome a 30m handicap but is suited by the small field and is the other class runner in the field. BOLTA (4) was only beaten less than 2m by KILOWATT KID (6) recently and can turn the tables if things go his way. PERLEE GATES (3) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but is reliable and can be placed. Tips: 6 9 4 3 Suggested Bet: KILOWATT KID (6) to win. Race 10 TALKS UP A STORM (2) impressed in winning his only two starts in his first preparation and ran a nice 3rd at his first run back from a spell. He looks a very promising type and is clearly the one to beat. BLACK JACK BABY (3) has utilized her brilliant gate speed to win four of her five career starts and will give the favourite something to catch if she crosses at the start. POWERPLAY (1) has been unplaced at his first two starts but can improve from the pole. CHEDDAR IS BETTER (4) is likely to settle in 4th position and can finish there. Tips: 2 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: TALKS UP A STORM (2) to win. Market Market
