Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 27, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MISS FLAMBOYANCE can be hit and miss but all of her career efforts deserve respect and it can easily be argued that this is the weakest race she has ever contested. Looks perfectly placed to win second up at a mile. EL CARDERO and NICK OF TIME are both very one paced but should be winning maidens before season’s end. WINGSONMYFEET actually battled on well last start. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MISS FLAMBOYANCE WIN RACE 2 IMPERIALISM will be on the 4 day back-up if Brock Lewthwaite gets him to the races. Went around at $1.60 on Wednesday at Ascot and couldn’t run down the speedy Rock The Planet. If he goes round he’ll be short again but deservingly so. SOUND OFF is a newcomer to WA and has had a few cracks at it but should go well. OUR MATE BOOTS back to 1100m gets his chance to lead from start to finish. BRICK SHORT looks to have some ability. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – IMPERIALISM WIN RACE 3 TRULY GOLD stepping up to 1900m looks right on track for another Geraldton Cup tilt. Both the runs this preparation have been excellent and after the 3kg claim for Madi Derrick looks very well in. If she can get him out of the gates and hold up midfield with cover looks awfully hard to hold out late. PALACE ROGUE won first-up at 1400m. Obvious query on the form but he is a stayer and has won Saturday metro races. PROXY has been up a long time but continues to race well. STRONG HEART can stay but is only going moderately so far. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – TRULY GOLD WIN RACE 4 FREEZ’EMOFF is so consistent and if she can get an ounce of luck from a sticky draw she’ll be very hard to beat. Kyra Yuill rides her well and from the gate last start she did a super effort to get as close as she did. Up to 1900 only enhances her chances. FREEDOM BY CHOICE goes to the races in form and can slide forward from the gate and take a trail behind Saxon Saxoff if they let him roll or Ruby’s Legacy. DEFIANTLY will appreciate the hot anticipated tempo. MYCROFT finished off well and looks like making his presence felt in the Cup. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – FREE’ZEMOFF WIN RACE 5 SITDOWN BE HUMBLE was thrown in the deep end last start. Maiden winner into a C5 and then was somehow the target of huge support. He ran out of his skin really to finish 4th in that race and now drops back into a C2. Money has to come for him here if there were punters climbing aboard last start. MAGIC WILL REIGN has trialled well enough to figure. RED EPIC teases punters but runs well when doing it tough out deep. MISS ZEDEL dropping back in trip an improver after a plain last start performance. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SITDOWN BE HUMBLE WIN RACE 6 RUBY JEAN comes from a lowly maiden at Albany but this C2 is not a whole deal tougher. She settled out the back in a fairly slowly run race before launching late. Full sister to Mr Genoa and looks to have her fair share of ability too. KNUCKLE DOWN was a better run than reads on paper first-up. Going off the trial looked in for a good preparation. RUN FOR MONEY was a wild drifter last start and got the cash for his loyal followers. Can go close again. COOL DYNAMITE can finish hard late. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – RUBY JEAN WIN RACE 7 RAPID ASSET was the target of huge money at Geraldton three starts ago when winning well over Hot Style and breaking an out of over 1000 days. Then ran a place in a 70+ behind Esperance Cup winner Push to Pass. Nothing wrong with the run behind stablemate Helms Gate at Albany last start. HOT STYLE has hit form and draws perfectly to sit three back the fence. GOLDEN ACRES can always put in a run on the fresh side. BOLD VICTORY hard to catch but going alright. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – RAPID ASSET WIN RACE 8 MIDNIGHT ROCKET has the grandstand to lump 62.5kg but he jumps cleanly and draws a gate where Andrew Castle can put him into a position just behind the speed. He is a progressive horse and expecting further improvement from the fresh run. THE FULL QUID brained moderate opposition last start under a hold. If she puts her mind on the job she can gallop. FAIR EUGENIE can race on speed and off speed and has more than enough ability. CHARGED FLAME there abouts. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT ROCKET WIN RACE 9 JUPITER RISING has raced in 70+ grade his last 11 starts. He is a dual 70+ winner and a C5 winner coming back in grade and even though he is drawn a horror gate he should be very hard to hold out late. BEROOZ is the X-Factor. Flies on the dirt, can she skip along on the grass. BLANKENBERGE is in form but comes up against the toughest opposition she has seen. BLACK DYNAMITE and KHAN continue to run well without winning. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – JUPITER RISING WIN Quaddie (R6 – R9) 1,4,7,8,9 1,3,5 1,5,8 2,4,5,6,7 Market Market
