Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on November 29, 2019November 29, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RECOILED was strong in his Geraldton debut. He can be quirky out of the gates, quite hit and miss. If Bennett can get him out safely he can break his Midwest duck. HOT STYLE was below his best first-up. Should only improve off that effort. TOUCHED ran well first start this campaign. Looks suited in this grade. GOLDEN ACRES is not going as well as he was last campaign, looking for an improved effort. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – RECOILED WIN Race 2 RUSH’N MACHINE is stepping out in trip but Tiarnna Robertson’s stable have one of the best strike rates in WA in the last 3 months and Troy Turner dominates Geraldton. He should lead and from there looks like taking running down. BREEAQUA has put the writing on the wall a few times in Geraldton since arriving. VITAL CALL was good last time out in the provincial area. THE LADY MARY improved last start. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – RUSH’N MACHINE WIN Race 3 COOKING WITH GAS was the lead from a smart stable last time out when booking McNaught. She sticks here and one can only assume that the best rider goes on the best horse. Big run last start but again drawn poorly. OUR MATE BOOTS will be winning a maiden sooner rather than later. If he can lead he’ll give a sight. CASUAL TRADE could get under the radar a bit. Likeable trial. CAN’T HELP MYSELF has been racing well since resuming for Rhona MacPhilomey. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – COOKING WITH GAS WIN Race 4 MIDNIGHT ROCKET landed the money first-up and then was a shade disappointing at his second start when being nosed out late. Sticking with him and still think he can power through the grades. Draws to lead or take the trail and should be given every mortal hope. DEE TRUMP was brave in the breeze last start and deserved the win. He’ll take beating again. WILDONBROOK should be a nice acquisition for the region. TERIREM is going well and draws perfectly. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT ROCKET WIN Race 5 KARNATAKA is a very good quality staying mare. She’ll only improve into the prep and only improve as they step out in distance. Strong on speed winner last time out and should get the run of the race from the draw. FEARHILDI will pinch one when left alone out in front. Keep safe at a price. JENABEL should be about ready to show her best fourth start in the prep. ROCK MYLADY is hard to catch but this grade really should suit him. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – KARNATAKA WIN Race 6 SADLERS HILLS is a little awkwardly placed between 58+ grade and 70+ grade in terms of his ratings but he should measure up later in the season in some of the staying features. Big effort last start in defeat and draws far better here. GALAXY BLAZE can always run a race at a price. Good use of the 3kg claim. HIGHEST REGARD was able to walk them last start but held off a nice pair in Winifer and Sentimental Gift. FULLY STOKED up in trip but gets back. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SADLERS HILLS WIN Race 7 BIG SHOT PADDY could be the breakout horse for the season. He has always shown well and truly above average ability and he is now starting to furnish into a nice animal. He could measure up in town and can string a few together on the Cray Coast. POLITICS is racing particularly well and is a nice ride for Laqdar Ramoly. FREEDOM BY CHOICE can roll forward from the awkward alley and put himself into the race. FREEZ’EMOFF can never be under-estimated but might need this. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – BIG SHOT PADDY WIN Race 8 THE CROWN PRINCE draws off the track and has a big weight to lump but his trial and first-up effort were both strong. If he can get any luck from the gate he’ll be right in the mix in an even race. KENYLUCK bolted in like a horse who could win a C1 and C2 this season. FAIR EUGENIE is yet to reproduce that barnstorming first-up display. KRISTELLA was dominant at Albany and this is not a whole lot tougher. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – THE CROWN PRINCE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4 1,2,4 4 2,4,7,9,10 Market Market
