Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 4, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (1) has been unplaced at his past four starts but has battled bad draws and gets the pole tonight. He should have enough speed to hold up and will give them something to catch. IM SOXY (7) is the class runner of the field and has been placed at his past three starts in stronger company. ONEONTHEWOOD (5) has ran on to be placed at his last three runs in stands but can handle the switch to mobile conditions. MASTER JAXON (4) was a strong 3rd here recently and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 7 5 4 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (1) to win. Race 2 THE ART FORM (11) led throughout here three starts back and hasn’t been able to make up ground in slick last halves at his two subsequent runs. This looks easier and he should be finishing strongly. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (10) ran a great 3rd here last start and will be hard to hold out if he has any luck from this draw. CAMPORA (1) is always hard to beat when he leads and will get his chance tonight. KIMANI (3) has finished 2nd at his past two starts behind Herrick Roosevelt and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 11 10 1 3 Suggested Bet: THE ART FORM (11) each way. Race 3 DEBT FREE CHARLIE (2) has finished near the rear at his last three starts but hasn’t had any luck in those events. He looks the likely leader here and will give a great sight. HASANI (10) faced the breeze when a gallant 2nd here last week and will be a major player if he sees daylight from this draw. BRONZE SEEKER (5) has been racing consistently in better company and will be charging home. FOREVER REMEMBERED (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and can play a part at odds. Tips: 2 10 5 1 Suggested Bet: DEBT FREE CHARLIE (2) to win. Race 4 OUR MAJOR MAMA (1) led throughout five starts back and ran a nice 3rd to Sarah Goody in 1.54.0 two runs ago. She should lead here and is clearly the one to beat. JASMIN AMAL (10) raced well last campaign and her recent Byford trial win indicates that she should be in the money from this draw. MISS SANGRIAL (9) was an upset winner against a stronger field last week but has a horror draw. ROSIES IDEAL (11) won consecutive races against weaker company before a sound effort last week and can play a part from her trailing draw. Tips: 1 10 9 11 Suggested Bet: JASMIN AMAL (10) each way. Race 5 FRANCO EDWARD (4) overcame the widest draw to run a narrow 2nd to Eloquent Mach in the Western Gateway and maps to get a nice run tonight. He is a classy customer and should be in the finish. MAJOR TROJAN (5) has impressed at his four WA starts and will run a huge race but might have to breeze here. ITS ROCK AND ROLL (3) doesn’t have the class of the favoured pair but could work his way to the front and will give a sight. BLETCHLEY PARK (1) hasn’t had the best preparation for a Derby but his raw speed gives him a chance. Tips: 4 5 3 1 Suggested Bet: FRANCO EDWARD (4) to win. Race 6 LIBERTY ROSE (1) has been placed at eight of her 12 starts this time in but is finding it hard to break through. She has disappointed when she’s led in the past so the early tactics will be interesting. LIAM NEIL (3) has won his last two and will be hard to beat if he finds the top. ULTIMATE MAJOR (10) hasn’t had much luck recently and should be a big improver from his nice draw. FROSTYFLYER (11) has been placed at his past two starts and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 1 3 10 11 Suggested Bet: ULTIMATE MAJOR (10) each way. Race 7 DRACARYS (5) has won her last two in impressive fashion and looks too classy for this line-up. MAJORPRIDE (2) has been placed at 12 of her 14 career starts and looks a great quinella chance again. FAKE NEWS (4) didn’t have any luck here last week after recording consecutive victories and can be in the money here. LA ROUE DE LAMOUR (1) was a last-start winner in easier company and looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 5 2 4 1 Suggested Bet: Quinella MAJORPRIDE (2) & DRACARYS (5) to win. Race 8 HANDSANDWHEELS (1) led throughout here three starts back and has been placed at his past two in similar fields to what he meets tonight. He has the advantage of the pole draw over the sprint trip and is clearly the one to beat. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (5) defeated HANDSANDWHEELS (1) in quick time two starts back and looks the main danger here. OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (2) is likely to trail the favourite and won’t be far away. VULTAN TIN (6) was an impressive winner here last week but isn’t suited by the journey. Tips: 1 5 2 6 Suggested Bet: HANDSANDWHEELS (1) to win. Race 9 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (8) has hit peak form with two dominant victories but has to overcome a wide draw over the sprint trip. LORD WILLOUGHBY (5) had to go too early and weakened in the run home last week but can be driven more conservatively tonight. MATTJESTIC STAR (3) recorded a 1.54.1 victory from the breeze over this trip three starts back and will give a great sight. ARGYLE RED (6) led when a game 2nd last start but is likely to be driven softly tonight and will be finishing hard. Tips: 8 5 3 6 Suggested Bet: HERRICK ROOSEVELT (8) to win. Race 10 OUR CORELLI (3) hasn’t produced his best at his two starts back from a spell but should strip fitter for those efforts and his lovely draw makes him the one to beat. JUST BET ON BLACK (4) had no luck at his last start after a strong win at this track and should make his presence felt. VRAI AMOUR (6) ran on strongly to finish 3rd to Kerrin Joseph in 1.55.3 at his last start and should be respected. CUT ABOVE (1) has won five of her last eight starts and must be considered from the pole despite the rise in class. Tips: 3 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: OUR CORELLI (3) to win. Market Market
