Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 27, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: IN MEMORY OF LES POYSER 3YO MS PACE TISADREAM (5) was a good winner here in a weaker field three runs back and was only 2.6m from THE PUBLISHER (7) when 3rd to that pacer last start. He is the best drawn of the main chances tonight and should give a great sight. BETTOR BE LIVELY (8) started from a similar barrier when breezing and finishing 2nd in the same event and won’t be far away. THE PUBLISHER (7) has now won four on end and must be considered but isn’t as well drawn here. MIGHTY MISTER SHARKEY (6) was a good last start winner and is another chance. Tips: 5 8 7 6 Suggested Bet: TISADREAM (5) to win. Race 2: IN MEMORY OF FRED HOUGH MS PACE QUITE A DELIGHT (5) was well below her best last campaign but returned from a spell in fine fashion, beating a strong field of mares in good time. She should be fitter for that hit-out and is nicely drawn here. FANCI A DANCE (11) has impressed in two Bunbury wins with a 5th at GP in between those efforts. There is a question how he handles the tighter GP circuit but he has plenty of ability. ABRAXAS BLUES (10) is drawn to get a soft run and will be charging home with any luck. KHUN RATHA (2) looks a place chance from his nice draw.. Tips: 5 11 10 2 Suggested Bet: QUITE A DELIGHT (5) to win. SuperPick - Race 2 No. 5 QUITE A DELIGHT - Money Back – Run 2nd Race 3: IN MEMORY OF RAY SWEETMAN MS PACE OHOKA COOPER (2) hasn’t been placed in his past ten starts but gets the chance to rectify that tonight. His recent form has been against considerably stronger opposition and he is drawn perfectly here. CHEVRONS CHAMPION (8) is down on her best form but has the turn of foot to be dangerous in this moderate affair. ROCKNROLL WHITBY (5) ran a fair 5th first up and can be thereabouts tonight. DONT WANADIE (3) ran a solid 5th here earlier in the week and can give a sight. Tips: 2 8 5 3 Suggested Bet: OHOKA COOPER (2) to win. Race 4: IN MEMORY OF LES MARRIOTT DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP SS PACE NEW WORLD ORDER (8) has been taking on the state’s best pacers and ran a 2.2m 2nd to Chicago Bull in 1.53.2 five starts back. He drops in class and returns to the stand and should run a good race at each way odds. RYCROFT (5) has either galloped out or copped interference recently and would be a big improver if he steps cleanly from his front line handicap. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (3) had a good stand record interstate and performed well first up. TOMMY BE GOOD (9) is always a winning chance in this type of event. Tips: 8 5 3 9 Suggested Bet: NEW WORLD ORDER (8) each way. Race 5: IN MEMORY OF MAX JOHNSON MS PACE VULTAN TIN (7) has been taking on the state’s best pacers and performing well, including placings behind Beaudiene Boaz and Ideal Alice recently. His form is superior to his opposition and he looks the one to beat. JAMBIANI (9) has also been racing in better company and is the other class runner. BLINDING LIGHT (4) ran a good 2nd to Sprinter last week in quick time and should be thereabouts again. LAGOON STRIDE (2) ran 3rd in the same race and is a good place chance again. Tips: 7 9 4 2 Suggested Bet: VULTAN TIN (7) to win. Race 6: IN MEMORY OF BOB POLLOCK THE CHANDON FINAL MS PACE NATURAL DISASTER (11) has won six of his last seven, including a heat of this race when he got off the pegs and finished strongly. He has a back line draw tonight but will be suited by the likely solid tempo. MOTU PREMIER (8) was crossed by ZACH MAGUIRE (10) at the start of their heat and that pair battled it out from that point on, with ZACH MAGUIRE going on to record the quickest heat win and both look good chances tonight. HARRY HOO (2) was a nice 3rd after a short break and is drawn to be in the finish. Tips: 11 8 10 2 Suggested Bet: NATURAL DISASTER (11) each way. Race 7: JOHN HIGGINS MEMORIAL MS PACE AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (10) is in hot form, winning his last four starts in quick time. He will find it harder from the back line in a field of great depth but should still give a good sight. SPRINTER (9) was a dominant winner last start in easier company and his wide draw may not be as big a burden as it appears if there is a solid tempo. IDEAL TYSON (3) was also a dominant winner in easier company and can make his presence felt from this draw. IMA ROCKNROLL LEGEND (7) is racing well and looks a chance at odds. Tips: 10 9 3 7 Suggested Bet: SPRINTER (9) each way. Race 8: IN MEMORY OF RON PERCIVAL 3YO FILLIES MS PACE MACZAFFAIR (9) has proven to be the state’s best filly and was a dominant winner of the WA Oaks. She sat outside Better B Chevron and couldn’t catch that filly in a 55.4 last half but this should be run more evenly. SOMEWHERONLYIKNOW (1) was crossed from this barrier by Better B Chevron when 2nd to that filly and is the obvious danger. PICK MY POCKET (7) finished just behind MACZAFFAIR (9) on Tuesday and should be thereabouts again. MILLIONDOLLAHANOVA (6) has won two of her last three but is up in class. Tips: 9 1 7 6 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (9) to win. Race 9: IN MEMORY OF ROY ANNEAR TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP LORD LIAM (10) made a promising WA debut when finding the early lead and finishing a 5.4m 2nd to Sunnys Little Whiz. That form reads well for this and he can overcome the 20m back mark. SPRINGFIELD HUGH (6) won two on end before doing things wrong but still finished 3rd last week and will be hard to beat. LIGHTNING CALDER (9) was a 2.5m 2nd to SPRINGFIELD HUGH (6) last start and should be thereabouts again. ENJOY A MALABU (7) has been placed four of his last five and can be in the money again. Tips: 10 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: LORD LIAM (10) to win. Race 10: IN MEMORY OF JACK SIMMONS 3YO WESTBRED MS PACE BUDD SIDEWINDER (4) won three starts back and ran 2nd to Illusionation at his latest effort. He is nicely drawn and looks the one to beat. DIBARA (6) did a bit wrong at his return but was only beaten a neck by Susie Rocks and should be in the finish. YANKEE BOOTS (5) has been placed at his last four starts and is close to breaking through for a win. BLAZING SADDLES (1) finished alongside BUDD SIDEWINDER (4) when 3rd to Illusionation and should be handy from the pole. Tips: 4 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: BUDD SIDEWINDER (4) to win.
