Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on December 20, 2022December 20, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 CHOQUANT had no luck when well backed first up and will strip fitter. OCEANIQUE ran well behind a promising galloper last start and gets winkers on. ROC DE RUSSIAN comes through the same race as Oceanique and should cope with the slight rise in trip. CORTES has been sticking on well in his tow runs to date and should also cope with the rise in distance. Selections: 1,12,5,9 Suggested Bet: Choquant each way Race 2 Good maiden with all the first starters showing ability at trials/jumpouts. TAPIN’ THREE was ok but green on debut behind Giga Kick. She has jumped out well and appeared to run straight through the line winning her heat. SHANGHAI VENTURE is consistent and has a race fitness edge. ALWAYS A SAINT looked sharp winning a recent jumpout. MAGNUPUR will need some luck from the draw but will strip fitter and has run well at his two runs to date. Selections: 11,10,1,5 Suggested Bet: Tapin’ Three to win Race 3 ULTIMATE KISS is hard fit and racing well, he gives the impression that 1600m will be ok. ABU SIMBEL broke her maiden well last start and will strip fitter third up. MERE FANCY will be at peak fitness now and drops in grade. HARBOURMASTER was well backed first up, he ran well and mapd for a good run. KOMACHI is in the mix. Selections: 6,9,5,3 Suggested Bet: Ultimate Kiss each way Race 4 WHO’S YOUR PAPY coped well with the step up to 2000m last start and has jumped out nicely between runs. FIRE GLO TOO has had excuses of late, he was well backed last start and swaps blinkers for winkers. TYCOON BEC and RACE CARD come through the same race in Adelaide last start, doubt leading was the best scenario for Race Card there. Selections: 4,6,3,5 Suggested Bet: Who’s Your Papy each way Race 5 Even race with a number of different form lines converging. PAMPUNI won her maiden in impressive style last time, she obviously rises in grade but has upside and should cope with 1400m. RUNNING ON TIME also broke her maiden last start, she has jumped out well since and may roll forward from the wide draw. HOOPS has jumped out in good style to resume and draws for a good run. CHARMING DI will be fully fit now and drops in grade. You could mount a case for all the others in a deep race. Selections: 4,6,3,2 Suggested Bet: Pampuni each way Race 6 Another deep race. If GABSTAR can begin cleanly she looks a value chance in an even race. She has won stalking the speed from an inside draw previously. PLACE OF GOLD comes through the same race as Gabstar and is also likely to settle closer from a favourable draw. GOLDEN VITINE will ride the speed and won well with those tactics last start. SUNFALL comes through a strong race first up, he drops in grade and gets blinkers on. LOVIN’ LAUGHS will be part of the speed and is fit and consistent. CRIMMO and RURA PENTHE won their maidens well last start and looks progressive. Selections: 11,4,6,3 Suggested Bet: Gabstar each way Race 7 I’M DIVINE has trialled well to resume and should secure an economical run from the draw. MIANADO had no luck over 1100m last start and looks suited by the rise in distance. CRAZY IN LOVE might need some luck from the draw, but she won well on debut and New Zealand and has jumped out in good style for the new stable. SONORA was disappointing when well backed in the same race as Mianado first up, she gets blinkers back on and is capable of much better. NO SECRET is likely to improve dropping in grade at her second Australian start. Selections: 7,14,11,10 Suggested Bet: I’m Divine each way Race 8 Tough race to finish. D’JUMBUCK races well here and has been jumping out in good style to resume. DAILY BUGLE has also jumped out well to resume, he’s been gelded since his last preparation and his form through Jimmy The Bear and Cardinal Gem reads well for this. BIRDIES GALORE had excuses last start, she’s been freshened and had a quite trial and jumpout between runs. ALLEGRETTA will strip fitter third up and ran well in a stronger race last start. ISRAELITE BAY looks well up to this class and has been given a couple of quite jumpouts to resume. TRAMONTANA won well first up. Selections: 1,11,13,9 Suggested Bet: D’Jumbuck each way Market Market
