Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on July 9, 2024July 9, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 MET WITH LUCK found plenty of bad luck after being slowly away when well backed first up. He looks hard to beat if B.Shinn can get him out of the gates cleanly. VENDEMMIA hit the line strongly first up and shapes as a strong danger. FABRICE and PERFECT EXCUSE have trialled/jumped out well. THE DEFENDER caught the eye flashing home over 1000m on debut. SUPPOSE I DO is fit and consistent. Selections: 6,11,2,10 Suggested Bet: Met With Luck to win Race 2 LA CASONA has jumped out well on soft 7 ground to resume. MISS WINSLET will strip fitter third up and drops in grade. SHAMMY EXPRESS looked good in her first prep and has jumped out nicely. HERBERT PARK won well first up and loves it wet. IPHIMEDIA, LOVAZOU and SHYLEAH have claims. Selections: 5,11,12,2 Suggested Bet: La Casona each way Race 3 Plenty of winning form converging. APACHE SONG drops in grade and look suited coming back to 1400m. FREAK OF NATURE faces the challenge of rising in grade following a dominant synthetic victory but has jumped out well on soft ground. CARNIVAL ROW has jumped out particularly well to resume. NIGHT PEOPLE, GLENFINNAN and KING DE LUNE are among the other winning hopes. Selections: 6,1,11,3 Suggested Bet: Apache Song each way Race 4 BENGAL BAY will strip fitter third up and had excuses at Cranbourne last start. IRISH BUTTERFLY is going well over the jumps but his flat form is sound for this. MARTIAL EAGLE is going ok and may settle better with blinkers off. SENOR UNO beat Martial Eagle first up and should be improved by that run. QUEEN TAKES KING is going ok but a wet track would be some query. Selections: 4,3,7,1 Suggested Bet: Bengal Bay each way Race 5 SHE’S A CON will strip fitter third up. She’s jumped out well between runs and should appreciate the rise in trip and rain affected going. SMOKIN’ PRINCESS is racing in good form and gives the impression she’ll cop with the extra trip. PREFERENTIAL comes back in trip but is racing well and it could be a testing 2100m. BRAVE MISS had to dig deep last start and is another that should cope with a rise in distance. HARD SQUEEZE and SKY HORSE race well here. Selections: 10,2,11,9 Suggested Bet: SHE’S A CON each way Race 6 STARIANNE brings a strong first up record and has been jumping out well. JENNIPENDING has also been jumping out in good style and gets the benefit a claim for an in-form apprentice. WRITTEN IN CODE will strip fitter second up after hitting the line strongly first up. KIKO is racing well and is a winner at 1200m. CUTE AS has trialled well to resume. Selections: 8,1,3,7 Suggested Bet: Starianne each way Race 7 THE OPEN is building an impressive record and battled on bravely after absorbing some pressure last time. KEITEL is another building a decent record and was probably in inferior ground last start. ROCKET TIGER and BEWS have form that ties in with the two previously mentioned and have claims. HOME RULE had excuses last time and can make his own luck. Selections: 5,7,12,8 Suggested Bet: The Open each way Race 8 NAME DROPPER looks to have plenty of upside, he should strip fitter second up and looks suited stepping up to 1600m. BIG BREW had the pattern against him last start and his previous run was good for this. Doubt the inside draw is ideal for STAR VEGA but he’s jumped out well between runs and will be suited by the slight rise in trip. SPARE COIN has a case with some luck from the draw. TAJANIS has jumped out ok with blinkers on. Selections: 10,4,5,9 Suggested Bet: Name Dropper each way Market Market
