Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on December 1, 2023December 1, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 ENEEZA looks hard to beat with the benefit of the race experience from her encouraging debut. FLATTERED has been trialling well and worked home stylishly in her most recent hit out. STORMBOURG got the right run to win on debut but should be even better for that outing. VIOLE and MEDIA AWARD have shown enough at jumpouts/trials to consider. Selections: 4,6,1,9 Suggested Bet: Eneeza to win Race 2 VASMEE doesn’t want too much rain but he stuck on well in a stronger race last start and can make his own luck. STARIANNE will strip fitter third up and maps for a good run. AWASH may have been well placed to record his consecutive wins but he’s progressing well and the likely decent tempo should help offset the wide draw. RUSSIAN DANCER should appreciate coming back slightly in distance. MONTATHER and RIVERINA CYCLONE have claims in an even race. Selections: 1,9,4,3 Suggested Bet: Vasmee each way Race 3 CADMUS is shaping as a progressive middle distance/stayer and gives the impression he’ll cope with 2400m. FIRE GLO TOO is having a great campaign and didn’t have the clearest run at Cranbourne last week. PESTO showed some versatility winning here three starts back and is drawn to be ridden more positively than last start. FERAGO has been freshened and his Herbert Power run reads well for this. Selections: 11,12,5,4 Suggested Bet: Cadmus each way Same Race Multi: Cadmus (Top 2) + Fire Glo Too (Top 4) Race 4 MIRAVAL ROSE looks the one to beat after narrowly missing over 1200m here last time. RIGHT TO PARTY hasn’t had much luck of late and gets blinkers and a tongue tie. ALECTRONA gets blinkers after being grabbed late by FLYING FIZZ last start and both have claims again. EXTREMELY ROWDY backs up from Cranbourne last week and appears to have improved since she met Miraval Rose at her second start. Selections: 3,2,4,5 Suggested Bet: Miraval Rose to win Race 5 AIN’TNODEELDUN is racing in great form and was kept up to the mark with a solid jumpout at Flemington last week. JUST FOLK stuck on well in solidly run Cranbourne Cup last week and that should stand him in good stead for 1800m. SWORDS DRAWN might be looking for further but he ran out of room over 1400m first up and may still be fresh enough for this trip. LET’SROLLTHEDICE got the favours last time but will be at peak fitness and gets a weight swing on Ain’tnodeeldun from their last meeting. KEATS and JUNIPAL have claims and any rain would enhance their chances. Selections: 3,1,5,7 Suggested Bet: Ain’tnodeeldun to win Race 6 VILANA looks well placed under the WFA conditions and didn’t have the clearest path in the home straight in the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes last time. KING MAGNUS has had a slightly interrupted preparation but has jumped out well between runs and should be fresh enough to stay at 1400m. UNUSUAL CULTURE is building a handy record and will be suited stepping up in distance following an encouraging return. NOT AN OPTION can mix his form but maps well if he begins cleanly. Selections: 2,3,10,6 Suggested Bet: Vilana to win Race 7 SUNSET DREAMING chased strongly in the Blue Sapphire last time and gives the impression she’ll cope with 1600m. VIVY AIR has had the run at 1600m in the 1000 Guineas and worked home strongly on that occasion. ARKANSA KID is racing in good form and has been given a sold grounding to be tested at 1600m. MOWDOWN chased a smart one last start and is drawn to get every opportunity to run the trip out strongly. Selections: 9,8,1,3 Suggested Bet: Sunset Dreaming each way Race 8 VOW AND DECLARE stuck on bravely in a high pressure Melbourne Cup and his two previous run indicate he’s going as well as ever. DUKE DE SESSA shapes as a strong danger, he’s been progressing well and any rain would be a bonus. MURAMASA rises to WFA conditions but has returned in outstanding form and deserves his chance. DENY KNOWLEDGE looks the leader and will give them something to chase. Selections: 1,7,10,11 Suggested Bet: Vow and Declare each way Race 9 THALASSOPHILE will be strong late coming back in distance with blinkers first time. PICAROON and LADY JONES come through an easier race but both are in great form and Euphoric enhanced the form from that race in last week’s Cranbourne Cup. REVOLUTIONARY MISS had the right run to score last week but is the proven class runner and races well here. Selections: 3,6,7,1 Suggested Bet: Thalassophile each way Race 10 GHANAATI chased well here last start and is drawn to have options if any track pattern has evolved. PROWLING did enough first up and will be suited by the slight rise in distance. CARDIGAN QUEEN has been kept fresh and races best under those circumstances. LAUDA SION is hard to asses but has jumped out well for his Australian debut. SHOWMANSHIP boasts an impressive first up record and has been jumping out in good style to resume from a lengthy break. Selections: 8,13,7,1 Suggested Bet: Ghanaati to win Market Market
