MANDURAH

Race 1 No. 8 Westdale Opal

Her run last week was superb. Lost ground through the middle section but found the line strongly with a good last section. Small field suits here and just has to stay a little closer in the run. Hard to hold out late and can hit top two.

Race 4 No. 4 Notorious Harada and No. 7 I’m Upstairs

The 4 continues to step well but has been out paced her last two. Needs to at least go with this favourite to the first turn and she’s close to a win or at least hitting the frame in this. Don’t dismiss the 7 in this at a big price. Has been racing tougher opposition, has ability and can hit the line strongly if he can stay within striking range turning. Place heavy spec for him.

Race 5 No. 3 Warm Regards

Dominated at her first try track and trip last week. Was a small field but won with plenty up her sleeve. A race full of front runners who are suspect at the trip. She only has to hold her position through the first turn she and will get into her work through the middle to be too strong in the run home.

Race 6 No. 2 No Limit Needed

Thought she was outstanding last start when resuming in a much harder race. Show speed off the middle drawer and stuck on well at her first track and trip. Much better draw this time, will go close to leading and be very hard to get past. Great each way play.

Race 8 No. 6 Halcyon Days and No. 1 Indy Go Ruby

Last Chance for the 6 in this. It doesn’t get any easier for him as opposed to what he’s been racing recently. The trip is perfect and just needs to show his early speed and he will run a much better race this time. The red is well drawn and she can go close to holding the arm here. Another who will appreciate this much easier affair and she can stick on late over this trip. Needs to show something against these.

Race 10 No. 2 Mazuma Mayhem

Going to give this bloke one last go after the very ordinary performance last week. Walked out, then was very tentative when he couldn’t recover to get a forward position. Will have to step better here as he seems to lack any dimensions when he can’t lead and therefore doesn’t produce. Will get the chance to go all the way here if the box manners return.

Race 11 No. 4 Redhead Rider and No. 5 Bang

Interesting race. The 4 was good last start after missing it off the inside and he can begin much better than that. Will improve this time. Look for him to go fast early. The 5 will also come out running and if he finds the top will be very hard to run down. Caught up between dogs last start and spat out the out the back but he’s better than that. A watch on the 8 who is first up in W.A but trialled very fast. Has a stack of talent but has some issues with the corners and racing tight around dogs where he lacks some conviction. Can run serious time when he’s on song.

Race 12 No. 8 Shadow Monelli

I think she can run a race here. Was quite surprising behind a good sprinter last start. The move up to the much more suitable trip here with the small field is perfect and she can show early speed to make this favourite work for a win. Top two play at least.

THE MEADOWS

Race 3 No. 7 Xile Bale and No. 8 Sephora Bale

Huge run from the 7 last start at this track and trip. Made sustained ground from the back to charge home and go under half a length. Can handle the wide draw and run a good race this time. The 8 was almost put through the fence turning for home last week. The best dog in the race, who can step and show speed although she has a small flat spot that she needs to get through before hitting the line again. Don’t ignore her here.

Race 4 No. 1 Oregon Durrant and No. 6 Coulter Bale

The 1 is highly promising and will enjoy the move to the inside draw here. Coming out of a cup heat, he will go much better in this company and he has good early speed. The 6 put in an enormous effort at Sale four runs ago and has since performed well in town. Can really unleash a last section when he lands close and a place heavy play for him

Race 5 No. 8 Willa Bale and No. 4 Jigglypuff

The 8 was given no chance at her first crack at the middle trip. Was poleaxed just after the start and did really well to recover and pass a few in the run home. Will go better with the clear room this box provides. The 4 will run her regular good race and has been racing tougher company. Finds the fence early and sustains a long run home. Will be a price and should be an each way spec at least.

Race 6 No. 7 Warringah Bale and No. 5 Crackerjack Aret (No. 6 Shima Deb)

Prices will dictate how we play this. The 7 can stun these. Has been competing over the long trip and will enjoy the step back to the middle trip here. Will be very strong late, especially if he’s close. The 5 is having his first look at this distance at this track. If he handles the corner start and gets into his work, there is no way any of these will hold him off if he gets the trip. The class runner. Keep an eye on the 6 who is worth a play if she hits a big double figure price. Super run last week when having no luck and making big  ground in the run home. Anything over $20 will be an each way spec.

Race 7 No. 4 Aston Michigan

Whilst he is better off over the middle trip, this bloke can sprint just as well and might get the good map here. Can slot over to the fence behind the early speed and he can cut loose through the middle where he runs a very strong middle section. If he’s close, he will run over the top of some of these and should hit the frame at a good each way price. Racing well.

Race 9 No. 1 Edsel Bale and No. 5 Camp Fire

The 1 needs to step here. If he does he quickly because the one to beat. Can get up the track when headed so the first section important. He is ready to win however. The 5 was enormous last time and he’s very promising. Continues to makes sustained ground in his races and can come from any box. Clear run all he needs.
