Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 22, 2019February 22, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 HERRICK ROOSEVELT (9) led at his first start back from a spell in top company and was only beaten 5m in very quick time. He has the advantage of his main rival starting from the backline tonight and will be looking to stay in front of him throughout. BETTOR AIM (12) has won two of his last three, one in 1.52.4 and is the obvious danger. BETTOR BE LIVELY (10) is racing well and can be placed with luck from his awkward draw. NAVAL AVIATOR (2) ran 2ndto BETTOR AIM (12) last week and can be in the money again. Tips: 9 12 10 2 Suggested Bet: HERRICK ROOSEVELT (9) to win. Race 2 SOHO CHELSEA (1) was suited by the early tempo and ran on strongly to record a comfortable victory here last week. He shouldlead from the pole and will be hard to catch over the sprint trip. SWEET N FAST (3) has been impressive in winning his past three starts, including a defeat of Franco Edward, and is the obvious danger. NEIGHLOR (10) is racing well and is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs. MATTJESTIC STAR (4) ran on well to finish 2nd to Mr Mojito in 1.54.0 here last week and must be considered on that effort. Tips: 1 3 10 4 Suggested Bet: SOHO CHELSEA (1) to win. Race 3 WALKINSHAW (10) has raced well in stronger company recently and warmed up for this with a 16m trial victory in slick time. He is awkwardly drawn but will be hard to beat if he can get off the pegs at the right time. CLARENDEN HUSTLER (5) had been working up to a win and broke through here last week and can go on with it now. KERRIN JOSEPH (1) is not at the top of his game but must be considered from the pole. BETTOR SCOOT (7) has plenty of ability when right and resumes here without a trial so watch the market. Tips: 10 5 1 7 Suggested Bet: WALKINSHAW (10) to win. Race 4 OUR MAJOR MAMA (2) led throughout at Narrogin before running a solid 5thhere in slick time. She is perfectly drawn here and looks the one to beat. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (11) has been impressive in bringing up consecutive victories at Pinjarra and can overcome her backline draw. LIBERTY ROSE (9) has resumed with placings at all fivestarts and should be in the finish again. SEA ME SMILE (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a great place chance. Tips: 2 11 9 1 Suggested Bet: OUR MAJOR MAMA (2) to win. Race 5 EL JACKO (5) hasn’t had much luck recently, including a fast finishing 2ndin the WA Pacing Cup and gets a nice draw for his racing pattern here. ROCKNROLL LINCOLN (7) was an all-the-way winner of the WA Pacing Cup and can overcome the wide draw. ALWAYS ARJAY (1) unsuccessfully protested when 2ndhere last week in asimilar field and must be respected from the pole. MR MOJITO (2) was a dominant 1.54.0 winner in weaker company here last week and can play a part from his perfect barrier. Tips: 5 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: EL JACKO (5) to win. Race 6 SMOLDERING ASHES (10) has only been placed in one of his last seven starts but hasn’t had any luck at his past two runs. He is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be charging home if he sees daylight. WARRIORS CODE (1) has led throughout to win his past two starts in weaker company but his times suggest he will give a great sight from the pole. ARDENS CONCORD (5) is ready to fire at his third run back from a spell and should be thereabouts. BROOKIES JET (2) is racing consistently and drawn to be in the money again. Tips: 10 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: SMOLDERING ASHES (10) each way. Race 7 JAMES BUTT (6) has won three of his last four starts, including a dominant win here last week. He is drawn wider but looks the class runner of the field and is clearly the one to beat. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (1) led and was only beaten 2.5m here last week and is drawn to give a great sight again. WABI SABI (10) is a last start winner in weaker company but is drawn to get a lovely run to offset the rise in class. JUST BET ON BLACK (11)has been placed at two of his past three starts but has had a six week break since his last run. Tips: 6 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: JAMES BUTT (6) to win. Race 8 ROCKABALL (12) led throughout to win in 1.55.8 at this track last start. He goes to backline tonight but has shown that he is capable of unwinding a big finish. DOMINATE THE DOJO (11) was a strong 3rdat Northam at his last start and should get a nice run from his trailing draw. LUIS ALBERTO (2) shook the bridesmaid’s tag when finally breaking through at Albany. This is a rise in class but he might go on with it now. BURNING SHADOWS (1) has been battling bad barriers and will appreciate this draw. Tips: 12 11 2 1 Suggested Bet: ROCKABALL (12) to win. Race 9 SUNOFLINDENNY (12) has won four of his seven starts this time in and can overcome his 30m handicap. He broke at his last run but is normally a reliable trotter and can bounce back tonight. TENNO SHO (7) has been placed at seven of his nine starts this campaign and should be thereabouts. LIFES DELIGHT (2) led throughout for a comfortable win at Pinjarra on Monday and will give a sight if he can find the top. HAMMERS LAW (6) is inconsistent but is capable of winning if he produces his best. Tips: 12 7 2 6 Suggested Bet: SUNOFLINDENNY (12) to win. Race 10 TYPHOON TIFF (5) has resumed with two dominant all-the-way victories and is the one to beat after drawing inside her main rival again. DRACARYS (6) was a game 2ndto TYPHOON TIFF (5) after facing the breeze at her last start and looks the obvious danger. MANDY JOAN (1) is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a great place chance. FAKE NEWS (2) should settle in a handy spot but would need a very solid tempo to trump the two favourites. Tips: 5 6 1 2 Suggested Bet: TYPHOON TIFF (5) to win. Market Market
