Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 25, 2017August 25, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: WESTRAL 3YO MS PACE ANVIL ROLLOVER (1) won four of his last six before a spell, leading throughout in all of them. He was forced to face the breeze when beaten as a $1.30 at his first run back from a break but draws to lead here and will be hard to catch. OUR ZAK WHITBY (10) resumes from a short break and this draw should ensure he gets a nice run and is dangerous late. THE PIMA INDIAN (12) has plenty of ability but tractability issues could play against him here. MY ART WORK (4) hasn’t trialled and has his first start for the Hall camp so monitor the betting. Tips: 1 10 12 4 Suggested Bet: OUR ZAK WHITBY (10) each way. Race 2: RETRAVISION MS PACE SPRINTER (12) missed the place for the first time in 13 starts last week but was far from disgraced when only 4m from the winner. This is a significant drop in class and he is the one to beat. DONEGAL RUNDLESCREEK (11) has a slight advantage over her main rival being drawn inside him and has been racing extremely well in mares’ company. SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (1) did lead throughout the last time he had the pole and must be considered. CAMPORA (7) is the next best but will find it tough from the wide draw. Tips: 12 11 1 7 Suggested Bet: SPRINTER (12) to win. SuperPick – Race 2 no. 12 SPRINTER – Money Back – Run 2nd Race 3: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC MS PACE ROCKNROLL WHITBY (1) has been unplaced at his past 11 starts but won’t get a better chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. He hasn’t had the best runs in transit of late and will either lead or get a nice sit on the pace tonight. FERNLEIGH REBEL (7) has finished just behind the placegetters in stronger company and has his first start for Clint Hall tonight. ATLASTALONE (9) is back in form with placings at his last three and can be in the money. TANAKA EAGLE (6) will be fitter for his two runs back from a spell. Tips: 1 7 9 6 Suggested Bet: ROCKNROLL WHITBY (1) to win. Race 4: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS CONDITIONED HANDICAP SS PACE AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (7) equalled the track record when beating El Hombre in 1.52.5 before suffering an atrial fibrillation and pulled up last start. He has since trialled impressively at Pinjarra and is clearly the one to beat. RUB OF THE GREEN (12) won consecutive races before an unplaced run that can be overlooked and is the other class runner. ARISING EASTON (1) was very disappointing last start but must be considered on his previous form. MAJOR RUSH (2) looks a good place chance from the draw. Tips: 7 12 1 2 Suggested Bet: AMERICANBOOTSCOOTA (7) to win. Race 5: INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL HEALTH PRODUCTS MS PACE HARRY HOO (6) has been racing consistently in stronger company, including a last start 3rd to El Hombre when he beat home Sprinter. He isn’t as well drawn here but has the turn of foot to make him dangerous in this field. SOHO CHELSEA (7) was an excellent 2nd to Ideal Tyson last start in quick time and should be in the finish on that performance. THE REVOLUTION (1) was crossed from this barrier two starts back but should be thereabouts. ARGYLE RED (4) has disappointed at his two runs back from a spell but can improve. Tips: 6 7 1 4 Suggested Bet: HARRY HOO (6) to win. Race 6: GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND THE SCHRADER FINAL MS PACE NATHANS COURAGE (9) resumed from a spell when a strong 3rd in quick time after facing the breeze. He will be fitter for that run and is the class horse of the field but does have a tough draw to overcome. JOHNNY DISCO (4) enjoyed nice trips but was impressive in winning his last two in similar company and should be thereabouts again. WHOZIDEAWASTHIS (6) was 2nd to JOHNNY DISCO (6) last start after an impressive victory and can figure. MILITARY MASTER (2) could give some cheek if he can lead. Tips: 9 4 6 2 Suggested Bet: NATHANS COURAGE (9) to win. Race 7: AUGUST CUP MS PACE RUN ONEOVER (1) hasn’t won this year but he has run some good races against the best and gets his chance here. He looks the leader and warmed up for this with a nice trial win over Tricky Styx. THE BUCKET LIST (3) was a gallant 2nd to Motu Premier in the Marathon last start and can play a part from this draw. MY HARD COPY (4) has lost his mantle as the state’s best pacer after an injury enforced layoff but trialled brilliantly for his return and shouldn’t be overlooked. IDEAL ALICE (10) can be placed from her nice draw. Tips: 1 3 4 10 Suggested Bet: RUN ONEOVER (1) to win. Race 8: TABTOUCH 3YO FILLIES MS PACE PICK MY POCKET (8) has been in the money at her past seven starts and produced a career best effort when a close 2nd to Maczaffair last start. She will be giving her main rivals a head start but can round them up. ROCKIN THE BOYS (1) is a good frontrunner who gets her opportunity here. SOMEWHEREONLYIKNOW (2) was a dominant winner last start and is up to the rise in class. SUSIE ROCKS (3) faced the breeze when 2nd in the same race and is an improving type. Tips: 8 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: PICK MY POCKET (8) to win. Race 9: CHOICES FLOORING TROTTERS MOBILE LORD LIAM (9) put the writing on the wall with an eye-catching 2nd two starts back before finding the front from a wide barrier and racing away for a dominant win. He is drawn wide again but looks the class runner and should give a great sight. ANGUS INVASION (2) has won his last three in easier company and has the draw to offset the rise in class. REMINDER CALL (1) was an impressive winner on Monday and has the perfect draw. SPRINGFIELD HUGH (4) hasn’t missed a place in seven starts this campaign and won’t be far away. Tips: 9 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: LORD LIAM (9) to win. Race 10: WESTSIDE AUTO WHOLESALE 3YO WESTBRED MS PACE APPARITIONAL (7) impressed at his race debut when he faced the breeze and raced away to record an easy victory in a 56.8 last half. This is a slight step up in class but he appears to have a bright future. BUDD SIDEWINDER (11) has been placed at seven of his last eight and is close to breaking through for another win. COMBAT CRUSADE (2) and OH WHAT A COUNTRY (5) are racing consistently and both would be a good chance if they could find the front. Tips: 7 11 2 3 Suggested Bet: APPARITIONAL (7) to win. Bet Now
