Race 1

TORREVEAN PINKY (1) was a solid winner two starts back before being an unplaced favourite in a Lightning Lap event when she couldn’t get into the race. She looks the early leader here and should give a great sight over the sprint trip. SIANGDI (11) was blocked for a run last week in stronger company and should make her presence felt from her nice trailing draw. STAR LILLY (5) loves this distance and has been running quicker times than her rivals. LOCAL RESIDENT (10) is in good form and can be dangerous from a soft run. JOLTED CHARM (4) has won five out of her last seven starts but this is the widest she has drawn.

Race 2

CHASING REX (5) only finished eight metres from the winner in last week’s Golden Nugget and he will appreciate the massive drop in class tonight. LINEBACKER (2) doesn’t have great recent form but he has changed stables, hasn’t trialled and has a hood added so monitor the betting. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (12) is racing well and will be running on if there is a solid tempo. TANTABIDDI (4) is a quick beginner who will be a great place chance if he crosses and sits on the favourite.

Suggested Bet: CHASING REX (5) to win.

Race 3

DAWSON (5) was a very good 2nd to Copy Cat Queen at his first run for a new stable before being a close-up 7th in Golden Nugget. He appeals as the one to beat on the back of those efforts but doesn’t appear to be great value in early markets. SOHO VESPER LIND (1) has elevated to a new level recently and looks a good each way chance from the pole. THE IRON DUKE (7) was beaten into 9th as a $2.80 favourite at his last start but was far from disgraced and can bounce back. INSTA GATOR (8) drops in class on his recent efforts and has the strength to make his presence felt.

Suggested Bet: SOHO VESPER LIND (1) each way.

Race 4

JUSTCALLMEMIKI (7) was held up at a crucial stage but flooded home when narrowly beaten in the Golden Nugget. He takes on the older horses tonight but is drawn just inside his main rivals and will be hard to beat if he can maintain that advantage in the early stages. GEE HEZA SPORT (9) has been racing well in this company and will appreciate4 the absence of the big guns. LAVRA JOE (8) disappointed when breezing last week but can give a sight if he crosses at the start or if he is driven conservatively and there is a solid tempo. SOHO MOONRAKER (2) will be at big odds but should be thereabouts if he can enjoy a nice run on the pegs.

Suggested Bet: JUSTCALLMEMIKI (7) to win.

Race 5

MINSTREL (8) was simply awesome when winning the San Simeon against a similar field and the staying trip gives him extra time to overcome the wide draw. MISTER SMARTEE (5) had his chance when 3rd in that event but can turn the table if he finds the front tonight. MAGIFICENT STORM (10) looks back to his best and can win but he will need some luck from awkward barrier. NEVER ENDING (6) trailed up MINSTREL (8) when 2nd to that pacer last start and can figure again with the right run. GOLDEN LODE (1) obtained a flat tyre at the 1200 last week so his effort can be discounted and looks an each way chance at big odds.

Suggested Bet: MINSTREL (8) to win.

Race 6

I think the favourites look a bit short in the market here so looking for value. ARIONROCK (9) was a strong winner in weaker company here last week but he is likely to be driven softly tonight and she will be charging if there is the expected solid tempo. FRISKY STYX (8) is likely to be driven in a similar manner and he would have got some confidence after his last start win. MIKI WINDERMERE (3) is an up and comer who has won two of his last three starts and could work his way to the front. HER PRESENCE (5) is racing extremely well and can work and still be in the finish. Can only discount the polemarker as a winning chance so go wide in the quaddie.

Tips: 9 5 3 8

Suggested Bet: ARIONROCK (9) each way.

Race 7

HEAVENLY GIPSY (3) was forced to run a 34.8 lead time here last week and knocked up. She will be very hard to beat if she crosses without doing too much work but if the two inside her have other ideas then she will be very susceptible. If they do go quick early, the beneficiary will be LITTLE DARLING (8) who was involved in the speed battle last week but is likely to be driven conservatively tonight. SWEET VIVIENNE (1) didn’t have much luck last week and should be thereabouts from the pole. MADAM PUBLISHER (2) is first-up and pre-race interviews will be a good guide to her winning chances.

Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY GIPSY (3) to win.

Race 8

LIL HAPPY FELLA (9) has been unplaced in his last six starts but his last couple of efforts have had plenty of merit and he looks the value at good each way odds. MADDY LOU (3) gets in well with two claims and will be hard to catch if she gets an easy lead. LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) broke through for a well-deserved win against easier company at his last start and can handle the rise in class. TORREVEAN AMY (2) doesn’t win too often but she should be in the finish if she can find the pegs in the early stages.

Tips: 9 3 4 2

Suggested Bet: LIL HAPPY FELLA (9) each way.

Race 9

LORD PUBLISHER (1) led when 2nd to Arma Believer in quick time two starts back and will be hard to beat if her can reproduce that effort. TRAVELBAN (8) has a wide draw but he has been racing well in stronger company and must be considered. CAPTAIN CONFETTI (4) didn’t have any luck here last week and is capable of winning a race of this nature with e right run. ELWADDELL (5) has taken a while to hit form but his last start 2nd to Frisky Styx was a good effort and he can play a part.

Tips: 1 8 4 5

Suggested Bet: LORD PUBLISHER (1) to win.

Race 10

IM CATEGORY FIVE (8) is a classy filly who resumed with a strong victory in quick time and is clearly the one to beat. INSURGENCY (4) is still a maiden but has been placed in all four starts and looks the only danger. MAAS ATTACK (7) has ability but is only a place chance from her wide draw. SHERICKA (4) is an improving type who was placed behind IM CATEGORY FIVE (8) at her last start and can be in the money again.

Tips: 8 4 7 3
