Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 11, 2025September 11, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BETTORS PRIDE (6) has won six of his 11 career starts and looks to have a bright future. He is first-up and awkwardly drawn but he has shown versatility and looks a good each way chance. GOODTIME LOUIS (2) couldn’t go with Brickies Dream at the start when 2nd to that pacer but he is the likely leader tonight and should prove hard to catch. FINAL COLLECT (4) is having his first start in WA and his Victorian form is solid so monitor the betting. IM LIGHTNING BANNER (12) will be finishing strongly and will be suited if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 6 2 4 12 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (6) each way. Race 2 D MAC (3) crosses the Tasman after the one start back in April. He hasn’t been seen in public here and I’m going with him purely because Gary Hall Jnr has elected to drive him over IM STEALTHY (9) who was a very impressive winner on debut. EL MYSTRO (6) has had to do it tough at his last three starts and can upset the Hall pair if the breaks go his way tonight. WAKE UP GEOFF (2) has ability and can figure from his nice barrier. Tips: 3 9 6 2 Suggested Bet: D MAC (3) to win. Race 3 BETTATHANLIFE (6) overcame a backline draw to win by a big margin at her WA debut. She rises considerably in class but she ran home in 55.2 and looks set for a big campaign. Her stablemate, ILL BE GONE (1) is first-up without a trial but has shown plenty across the Nullabor. Her preferred racing style over there was to lead and then hand up so the pre-race interviews will be crucial in this event. CAPTAINSHAVTIME (7) is proven at the trip and can figure if she has some luck in running. ARETHA (3) has won six of her ten race starts and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 6 1 7 3 Suggested Bet: BETTATHANLIFE (6) to win. Race 4 WATER LOU (8) found the front here last week but was no match for Copy Cat Queen over the staying trip. She drops back to the sprint distance tonight and will be hard to catch if she can find the front without doing too much work. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (9) is first-up but is the class mare of the field and she will be hard to hold out if they run a quick first quarter. LION QUEEN (6) charged to the line and beat home WATER LOU (8) last week and looks a major player again. LITTLE DARLING (7) has been racing well against the likes of Magnificent Storm and Mighty Ronaldo and will appreciate racing against her own sex. Tips: 8 9 6 7 Suggested Bet: WATER LOU (8) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) covered more ground than the early settlers but fought on bravely to finish 5th at his last start. He looks the leader tonight and will be very hard to beat. MINSTREL (3) can take up the position outside the favourite and that could be the place to be when they sprint a quick last half. MISTER SMARTEE (5) won the Nullabor and Fremantle Cup at his last two starts before going for a spell and clearly has the ability but the map looks against him first-up. GEE HEZA SPORT (4) could settle in the 1-1 and won’t be far away from that position. BRICKIES DREAM (2) doesn’t have the class of the favoured quarte but he will get a lovely run and can be placed at odds. Tips: 1 3 5 4 Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) to win. Race 6 CHARIVARI (7) is a 3YO taking on older horses and hasn’t been seen since for 5 months so there are plenty of question marks but he has plenty of ability so follow any positive lead from the stable. NORTHVIEW DANCE (11) finished just behind the placegetters in a hot race at Pinjarra on Monday and has a nice trailing draw tonight. OVERLY EXCITED (12) is lightly raced but showing plenty of ability and he can overcome his backline draw. TANTABIDDI (6) has been placed in three of his past four starts and has the speed to lead if desired but he can also come with a late run. Tips: 7 11 12 6 Suggested Bet: CHARIVARI (7) to win. Race 7 SWEET PINS (8) has won all four of his race starts and it is hard to make a case against him bringing up number five tonight. HER PRESENCE (4) should have run 4th to Copy Cat Queen here last week when held up at a crucial stage and looks a good chance to fill the quinella position behind her stablemate. FLY TO THE FINISH (3) has finished 2nd at his last three starts and can be in the money again. SHES A TINY DANCER (10) has been placed in six of her last eight starts and the pegs could be a good place to be if the favourite opens up in the last lap. Tips: 8 4 3 10 Suggested Bet: SWEET PINS (8) to win. Race 8 BLUTO (10) has been placed in six of his seven attempts from the stand and overcame a 30m handicap to win at his last start. He goes back a further 10 metres tonight and meets a stronger field but he still appeals as the one to beat. OFF THE CHARTS (5) disappointed at his last start but his previous effort was very impressive and he looks the best of the frontmarkers. CHIVALRY (11) looks back to his best and can work in the run and still fight out the finish. HEEZ A VIBE (10) is a risk from the tapes but has looked sharp in his last two wins and can figure at double figure odds. Tips: 12 5 11 10 Suggested Bet: BLUTO (12) to win. Race 9 LOUIE DIOR (1) led in a 35.5 lead time at his last start and only knocked up late when 4th to Mighty Ronaldo here last week. He meets a nice field tonight but will give a great sight if he can hold the lead without having to burn too hard. JUSTCALLMEMIKI (10) won his first five starts in WA before contesting the Nullabor at his last run before going for a spell. He is first-up without a trial but has plenty of ability and should be in the finish. HOTLY PURSUED (6) couldn’t cross LOUIE DIOR (1) last week so will need a different plan tonight but can’t be overlooked. VANDERBILT (8) was a strong winner from the breeze and will come right into contentions if there is a quick lead time. Tips: 1 10 6 8 Suggested Bet: LOUIE DIOR (1) to win. Race 10 HALE SAINT LOUIE (1) disappointed when he led from this barrier and was beaten into 4th place here two starts back before running a nice 2nd in a weaker field. He gets his chance to lead again and he should give them something to catch but the last 50 metres will be a concern. SOHO MOONRAKER (6) hasn’t had much luck recently but caught the eye at his last run and he should give a great sight at each way odds. ALTA TRIBUTE (7) was backed into favouritism against a strong field at his first run back from a spell but finished at the rear. He has plenty of ability so you can follow the money if you forgive him that effort when he did pull up with a problem. SAIFA (5) was a good winner in quick time at his last start and should be thereabouts. Tips: 1 6 7 5 Suggested Bet: SOHO MOONRAKER (6) each way. Market Market
