Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 19, 2025June 19, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 DARK EYES (2) hasn’t had much luck and has finished just behind the placegetters in his last three starts. He gets a better draw tonight and should give a great sight. PETES HONOUR (8) has been performing well without winning from wide barriers recently and that scenario looks likely again. MY WATCHLIST (11) disappointed last start but his previous effort was full of merit and he must be considered. MIKIPELO (1) will strip fitter for his first-up run and can be in the money from the pole. Tips: 2 8 11 1 Suggested Bet: DARK EYES (2) to win. Race 2 LOUIE DIOR (1) hit the line nicely when 3rd to BLAZE ON (6) first-up and has the gate speed and barrier draw to reverse that result tonight. BLAZE ON (6) must be respected and was an effortless winner after finding the front here last week but is unlikely to get it as easy here. CAMS BOULDER (10) will enjoy a soft run on the pegs and will enjoy the likelihood of a solid tempo. BRICKIES DREAM (8) probably drops in class on his first-up all-the-way victory but will need some luck from out here. Tips: 1 5 10 8 Suggested Bet: LOUIE DIOR (1) each way. Race 3 MONTANA DJ (1) led from the pole five starts back when 2nd to Aardiebytheseaside and that is good form for a race of this nature if he can hold up at the start. LONGREACH BAY (8) is the quickest beginner in this line-up and will prove hard to catch if he does cross at the start. BLAZING REACTOR (10) will enjoy a nice run on the pegs and could be the value runner. SKYLOU (9) has the ability to beat this field but the draw and sprint trip are against him. Tips: 1 8 10 9 Suggested Bet: MONTANA DJ (1) to win. Race 4 ALCOPONY (2) will now start from the pole and can lead or sit behind the speed and looks a good each way play under either scenario. JAWSOFLINCOLN (10) has been battling bad barriers lately and should be a big improver from a nice draw. ARMA XFACTOR (6) has returned in good form and can settle in the breeze and fight out the finish. TALKS UP A STORM (4) hasn’t showed his gate speed this time in but would become the one to beat if can cross at the start. Tips: 2 10 6 4 Suggested Bet: ALCOPONY (2) each way. Race 5 AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (6) brought up the hat-trick when leading throughout here last week. She is drawn to the outside of her three main rivals but should still be hard to beat. LITTLE DARLING (4) hit the line nicely when 2nd to ARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (6) in that race and can turn the tables if she gets the right trip. PENNY BLACK (3) is extremely strong and she will be hard to beat if she can bully her way to the front. WATER LOU (2) is first-up and holds the key to the race. Her recent trial was impressive but the overall times wasn’t quick so it hard to gauge if she is ready to lead in this company. Tips: 6 3 4 2 Suggested Bet: AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (6) to win. Race 6 RELATIVELY ARMA (1) faced the breeze when 3rd to XCITE ME (3) last start and looks the one to beat after drawing the pole tonight. STORMYSKYES (4) was a strong 4th from the breeze in good time at her last start and should make her presence felt. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (7) was well-backed last week and has the ability to beat these but does do his best racing close to the pegs. TROUBLE SUPREME (10) is drawn to enjoy a lovely run on the pegs and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 4 7 10 Suggested Bet: RELATIVELY ARMA (1) to win. Race 7 MIKIS PRIDE (2) was a drifter in the betting but won like a good thing when resuming on Tuesday. This field is only marginally stronger and is clearly the one to beat. JIMMY ROCKS (6) was an impressive first-up winner and looks set for a good campaign but the map may be against him. SHES A TINY DANCER (1) has had no luck at her last three starts but will be a great place chance if she can trail the favourite tonight. GOODTIME LOUIE (7) has won three of his last four starts but the draw is against him tonight. Tips: 2 6 1 7 Suggested Bet: MIKIS PRIDE (2) to win. Race 8 CANDY APPLE (1) was crossed from this barrier two starts back but I expect Toby Lynn to be desperate to hold up here and will be very hard to beat under that scenario. BLOCKJORG (2) is the main danger and the most likely to cross at the start. She led throughout here last week and is likely to do the same if she does find the front without spending too many pennies. RECOVER LOVER (10) is drawn to enjoy a nice run behind the speed and won’t be far away. MY SWEET ADDICTION (8) is drawn poorly but will become a winning chance if the favoured runners go to war in the early stages. Tips: 1 2 10 8 Suggested Bet: CANDY APPLE (1) to win. Race 9 AMARETTO ANGEL (1) only has limited ability but she won’t get a better chance to win a city race. She looks the likely leader and should give a great sight. APOLOGIZE (10) probably has the best form in the race and has options at the start being the only horse on the back line. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (2) is always dangerous with the right run and is drawn to be prominent throughout. KINSAABI (9) has s tough draw to overcome but she has the strength to be put into the race if the tempo allows. Tips: 1 10 2 9 Suggested Bet: AMARETTO ANGEL (1) to win. Race 10 BLUE BLAZER (6) has a losing sequence of 27 but this looks a suitable assignment. He is versatile and looks the best horse on paper but some bravery is needed to jump into a short quote. BEALAWYER (2) has been battling wide draws in Lightning Lap races and could be a big improver if he can find the pegs. ZUEDE (1) is likely to be crossed at the start but will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. COHLIN (4) ran a nice 3rd at Pinjarra on Monday and can play a part. Tips: 6 2 1 4 Suggested Bet: BLUE BLAZER (6) to win. Market Market
