Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 3, 2023August 3, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 MASTER YOSSI (2) led throughout in 1.54.4 here last week over this trip and is clearly the one to beat again. KIMBLE (3) was an eye-catching 2nd in a stronger field at his last start and is the obvious danger. THE KRAKEN (1) has been placed in two of his last three starts and should be thereabouts from the pole. MOONLITE DRIVE (7) is drawn poorly but is racing well enough to figure if there is a strong early tempo. Tips: 2 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: MASTER YOSSI (2) to win. Race 2 YOURE SO FINE (9) has resumed with three comfortable victories and is the one to beat but he has to overcome a wide draw and rise in class tonight. WHOS THE DAD (8) hasn’t missed a place in his last eight starts and must be considered again despite his wide barrier. WATTS UP SUNSHINE (6) is the best drawn of the main chances and can upset the favoured runners if he gets the right trip. MR FANTASTIC (7) overcame the outside barrier to defeat a weaker field at his last start and can play a part here. Tips: 9 8 6 7 Suggested Bet: YOURE SO FINE (9) to win. Race 3 CLOUD NINE (2) broke through to defeat a weaker field at his last start and is drawn to be prominent again. MASTER PUBLISHER (6) has worked hard in the run when placed in his last four starts and should be right in the finish again. HENRIK LARSSON (1) is an in-and-out type but he did record an easy all-the-way victory from the pole five starts back and must be considered. ONESMARTFELLA (3) finished in front of MASTER PUBLISHER (3) when 2nd to Raven Banner here last week and is always dangerous with the right run. Tips: 2 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: CLOUD NINE (2) each way. Race 4 PRINCE OF PLEASURE (4) looked back to his best when he sprinted powerfully to defeat Patronus Star here last week and will be hard to hold out again. THE MUSTANG (1) led throughout here four starts back and should give a great sight if he elects to hold the front tonight. TENZING BROMAC (6) was a strong winner from the breeze here at his last start but goes up in class and has an awkward draw to overcome. WATCHING OUR COIN (3) has won five of his last six starts easier company but steps up significantly in class tonight. Tips: 4 1 6 3 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PLEASURE (4) to win. Race 5 PETER PETRIFY (7) brought up his sixth win from his last eleven starts when he ran on well to defeat Peligroso here last week and will be charging home again. PAUL EDWARD (11) continued his good form when winning at Northam at his last start and should enjoy a nice run from his trailing draw. ROCKMYSTER (2) has won four of his last six starts and will be hard to catch if he finds the early lead. BEE JAYS BOY (1) has finished 2nd at his past three starts and looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 7 11 2 1 Suggested Bet: PETER PETRIFY (7) to win. Race 6 WONDERFUL TO FLY (7) is the state’s best mare and won her last four in effortless fashion but she may be a bit susceptible first-up from a wide draw. STENO (3) did lead throughout in 1.55.4 over this distance two starts back and will give a great sight if she can find the front. LET IT LINGA (1) is drawn to be prominent throughout and looks a good place chance. AMERICAN ARMA (4) led throughout two starts back but goes up in class here. Tips: 7 3 1 4 Suggested Bet: WONDERFUL TO FLY (7) to win. Race 7 ROBBIE EASTON (1) has only won one of his last 26 starts and resumes here without a trial but will be very hard to beat from the pole if he is anywhere near his top. MANNING (11) recorded a solid Pinjarra trial win and looks a major player at his first start back from a spell. JOE WITH THE FLOW (2) ran a solid 2nd from the breeze at his last start and should be thereabouts from his nice draw. HAVE AGO JOE (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 11 2 10 Suggested Bet: ROBBIE EASTON (1) to win. Race 8 ROLLING FIRE (1) led throughout in 1.55.8 to defeat a stronger field at his last start and should be winning again. VELOCIPEDE (2) is drawn to get the run of the race on the back of the favourite and looks a great quinella chance. ALL IS WELL (3) has recorded five wins and two 2nds from his last seven starts and can be in the money again. SOHO FIRESTONE (4) has good form but does his best work when leading and looks unlikely to take up that position tonight. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: ROLLING FIRE (1) to win. Race 9 LENORA JANE (6) was a comfortable winner on debut before facing the breeze when a solid 2nd to Xceptional Arma and she appeals as the one to beat here. PRINCESS KATIE (7) had a chequered run in transit at her last start but looks the obvious danger on her previous form. PECUNIOUS (2) was sent for a spell after disappointing at her last start but showed enough in her first two starts to make her presence felt here. SHES A MARE (3) has been placed in four of her five career starts and can be in the money again. Tips: 6 7 2 3 Suggested Bet: LENORA JANE (6) to win. Race 10 THATS NOT MY GAIT (2) is a consistent trotter who has won two of his last four starts and should fight out the finish here. BROMWICH (4) has defeated THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (2) twice recently but has also broken at two of his last three starts so must be taken on trust. LUVAFLAIR (5) is a consistent trotter who will be giving his main rivals a start but will be running on. EVAS IMAGE (3) has been placed in 18 of her past 20 starts and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 2 4 5 3 Suggested Bet: THATS NOT MY GAIT (2) to win. Market Market
