Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 27, 2023July 27, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CASTELLA DELLAQUA (11) crosses the Nullabor with good NSW form including a Menangle placing in 1.53.9 three starts back. She is first-up without a trial so monitor the market. CABSAV (7) is a proven filly at this level and has the gate speed to overcome her wide draw. TEMUKAS GIRL (1) didn’t really threaten last time in but she defeated CABSAV (7) in a recent Byford trial and could give some cheek. SPIROTOFANANGEL (10) defeated a weaker field at her last start and is drawn to get a nice run. Tips: 11 7 1 10 Suggested Bet: CASTELLA DELLAQUA (11) to win. Race 2 PETER PETRIFY (6) has only missed as place once in his last ten starts and he should be charging home here. CHEER THE MAJOR (4) has run two solid placing from the breeze at his last two starts and looks likely to take up the same position again. OCTOBER REIGN (2) is an inconsistent customer who is first-up tonight but he would be hard to beat at his best. HIGH PRICE (9) was a comfortable all-the-way winner in good time here last week but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 6 4 2 9 Suggested Bet: PETER PETRIFY (6) each way. Race 3 STREET HAWK (2) didn’t have any luck at his first run back from a spell but he can make his own from this draw and looks the one to beat. WHOS THE DAD (3) was a 1.55.9 winner at his last start and should be in the firing line throughout from this draw. MASTER YOSSI (1) has battled bad barriers of late but looks a big improver from the pole tonight. HOPPYS WAY (5) is a last start all-the-way winner who has brilliant gate speed and will give a sight if he can cross at the start. Tips: 2 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: STREET HAWK (2) to win. Race 4 RAVEN BANNER (4) has plenty of ability but was a beaten fancy on a few occasions last time in. He resumes here without a trial but still appeals as the one to beat. ONESMARTFELLA (1) is a consistent type who has options from the pole and looks a good each way chance. NEVERMINDTHECHAOS (7) is a strong mare who is capable of working in the run but she has a tough draw to overcome. MASTER PUBLISHER (5) has faced the breeze and been placed at his last three starts and should make his presence felt again. Tips: 4 1 7 5 Suggested Bet: ONESMARTFELLA (1) each way. Race 5 PRINCE OF PLEASURE (3) followed some good form with a slightly disappointing 3rd here last week but looks the one to beat here. THE CODE BREAKER (1) has started at big odds at his first two runs in this company but has shown enough to suggest he will be very competitive from the pole. THE MUSTANG (2) beat home PRINCE OF PLEASURE (3) here last week to maintain his consistent form and should be thereabouts again. PATRONUS STAR (5) will be hoping for a genuine tempo to make him a winning chance. Tips: 3 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PLEASURE (3) to win. Race 6 BEYOND THE SEA (4) was very disappointing at her last start but would be clearly the one to beat on her previous form so must be taken on trust. CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (12) is a last start winner who has only missed a place once in here 16 start career and is capable of overcoming the back line draw. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (5) followed an upset win from a wide draw with a nice 3rd in stronger company and should play a part. LADY JADORE (11) is first-up for a new stable tonight so monitor the betting. Tips: 4 12 5 11 Suggested Bet: BEYOND THE SEA (4) to win. Race 7 CARABAO (5) has led throughout to win his last two starts and will be extremely hard to beat if he finds the top. ARDENS HORIZON (9) gave up his winning chance when he handed up the lead last week when 2nd to Watching The Coin but has shown that he is capable of overcoming back marks. CHEDDAR IS BETTER (1) holds the key to the race as he is the likely early leader and was a good winner two starts back. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (8) was a good winner at his last start and must be considered at his first run from the stand. Tips: 5 9 1 8 Suggested Bet: CARABAO (5) to win. Race 8 RUN FOR MERCY (3) was a strong 2nd from the breeze at her last start and looks the one to beat against this moderate line-up from her nice draw. BLUE BLAZER (1) has been placed in three of his past six starts and looks a major player from the pole. SOUND WAVE (11) is a consistent type who warmed up for this assignment with a recent Byford trial win and must be respected. WITHOUTTHETUH (12) drops considerably in class and must be considered despite only being placed once in his eight starts this time in. Tips: 3 1 11 12 Suggested Bet: RUN FOR MERCY (3) to win. Race 9 ELDAYTONA (1) was a close-up 4th here and he should be hard to catch if he can hold up at the start here. MAJOR PERRY (6) has good Victorian and NZ form lines and must be respected at his first run in WA. AMERICAN ARMA (3) was a good all-the-way winner at her last start and is a versatile mare. REGAL CHEVAL (2) has good gate speed and can be placed at odds from this draw. Tips: 1 6 3 2 Suggested Bet: ELDAYTONA (1) to win. Race 10 WAVERIDER (2) was a n pressive winner of the heat and final of the Sales Classic and appeals as the one to beat despite being beaten by BET THE HOUSE (6) in a recent trial. HEEZ A VIBE (3) was an impressive winner here last week and looks the main danger. PRINCE OF PAN (1) finished 2nd in the Champagne Classic on debut before falling at his only other race start and must be considered from the pole. BET THE HOUSE (6) was a good winner of the Champagne Classic at his second race start and impressed with a recent Byford trial win but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 3 1 6 Suggested Bet: WAVERIDER (2) to win. Market Market
