Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 29, 2023June 29, 2023 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 SPORTING GRACE (5) won two of her three starts in her first WA campaign and warmed up for this event with a 47m Pinjarra trial victory. She will have to do some work in the run but appeals as the one to beat. JACKIE DANIELS (10) is racing consistently and will be charging home if she sees daylight at the right time. OUR LILILOU (1) was narrowly beaten when she attempted to lead throughout from this draw three starts back and should give a sight. BETWEEN TWO THORNS (12) is unreliable but more than capable on her night. Tips: 5 10 1 12 Suggested Bet: JACKIE DANIELS (10) each way. Race 2 ETON ROCK (2) is a good frontrunner who has the draw to press for an all-the-way victory here at each way odds. ROCK ON TOP (3) ran on well when a close 2nd to Acharne Girl at his last start and he should be in the firing line throughout. THE WATCH MAKER (1) is unlikely to hold up at the start but should enjoy a nice run behind the speed and can be dangerous. GOODFELLAZ (8) is racing well enough but has a tough draw to overcome again. Tips: 2 3 1 8 Suggested Bet: ETON ROCK (2) each way. Race 3 MR FANTASTIC (5) lost form towards the end of his last campaign but he is a classy customer who has trialled well for his return and he must be respected. MOONLITE DRIVE (1) has been crossed from this barrier twice recently but this isn’t a quick line and he will give a great sight if he can hold up at the start. HILLVIEW BONDI (7) will be at good each way odds but he looks suited by the longer distance tonight and can figure in the finish. FLOEWRITER (12) is a capable sit-sprinter who should be charging home. Tips: 5 1 7 12 Suggested Bet: HILLVIEW BONDI (7) each way. Race 4 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) has resumed with two 2nds to Magnificent Storm and then Shockwave and looks extremely hard to beat from the pole tonight. PATRONUS STAR (3) is first-up but has a great turn of foot and looks the only danger to his stablemate. FASTER THAN DAD (5) was a good last start winner but will settle at the rear in a race that looks devoid of any pressure. BABY FACE ADDA (4) is next best. Tips: 1 3 5 4 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (1) to win. Race 5 ACHARNE GIRL (10) won her first five starts this campaign before finishing an unlucky 7th here last week and will be hard to hold if she has any luck from her awkward draw. BLAZE COOPS (11) is better suited from a front-line draw but is racing extremely well and looks the obvious danger. CHERISHTHEMEMORIES (12) has been placed at her past two starts and is getting close to breaking back into the winners’ circle. OUR STAR BILLING (1) has led throughout in two of her last five starts and will give some cheek from the pole. Tips: 10 11 12 1 Suggested Bet: ACHARNE GIRL (10) to win. Race 6 COWBOYS N BANDITS (2) was an impressive all-the-way winner at his second start back from a spell but then had trouble getting into the race at his last start. He looks the likely leader tonight and should prove hard to beat. ALCIPPES DELIGHT (5) has been struggling in standing start events but she can use her gate speed to obtain a nice spot here and can be in the finish. RUN FOR MERCY (6) continues to race consistently and shouldn’t be far away. CLOUD NINE (9) is drawn poorly but he hasn’t had much luck in his four WA starts. Tips: 2 5 6 9 Suggested Bet: COWBOYS N BANDITS (2) to win. Race 7 PETER PETRIFY (2) won four of his six starts last time in and resumed with an impressive Pinjarra victory. He is a proven stand performer and appeals as the one to beat. ARDENS HORIZON (8) has won four of his last five starts including an upset win over Magnificent Storm here last week and can overcome his 20m handicap. VERANO (1) has won his last two starts in easier company and should give a sight from the pole. CARABAO (3) has finished 2nd at his past four starts and can fight out the finish again. Tips: 2 8 1 3 Suggested Bet: PETER PETRIFY (2) to win. Race 8 HIMSELF (1) is the reigning Golden Nugget winner who has faced the breeze and performed credibly in his two runs back from a spell. He gets the pole here and will be extremely hard to beat if he can hold up at the start. FINVARRA (5) is drawn poorly but has chased home Prince Of Pleasure at his last two starts and he looks the main danger. GALACTIC STAR (4) broke a long losing sequence here last week and shouldn’t be far away. WHATABRO (3) has the gate speed to make things interesting in the early stages. Tips: 1 5 4 3 Suggested Bet: HIMSELF (1) to win. Race 9 ALLWOODS CHEVRON (4) faced the breeze when beaten into 2nd as a $1.45 favourite at his first race start and appeals as the one to beat. HOT ROCKEFELLER (1) has finished towards the rear at his three race starts but this is a weak field and he can play a part from the pole. UBEEN THUNDERSTRUCK (9) defeated the favourite at his last start but is drawn poorly tonight. CHIEF COPY (2) has been racing in stronger company and is well drawn tonight. Tips: 4 1 9 2 Suggested Bet: ALLWOODS CHEVRON (4) to win. Race 10 I CROSS MY HEART (3) was beaten in a photo finish on debut and appeals as the one to beat from her nice draw. MANEA (6) has been racing in stronger company and is capable of overcoming the awkward draw. COPY OF PARIS (2) was a solid 3rd on debut and has the advantage of being drawn inside her main rivals. DEKLA DIVA (1) is an improving type who shouldn’t be far away from the pole. Tips: 3 6 2 1 Suggested Bet: I CROSS MY HEART (3) to win. Race 11 THE CODE BREAKER (1) is equally capable leading or racing with a sit and looks the one to beat from the pole draw. THE MUSTANG (2) has been driven more conservatively lately and has been placed in four of his past five starts but may challenge for the lead here. BEAT CITY (4) has been unplaced at his past five starts but he hasn’t had a race run to suit and can figure with the right run in transit. BLITZEMBYE (5) was a narrow but impressive last-start winner who can fly the gate. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: THE CODE BREAKER (1) to win. Market Market
