Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 29, 2022September 29, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 SMART WATCH (2) crossed the Tasman with good NZ form and impressed when winning at his WA debut. He has a significant barrier advantage over his main rival and appeals as the one to beat. STREET HAWK (8) is undefeated in his five WA starts and is the obvious danger despite the wide draw. LINEBACKER (1) led throughout and dashed home in 56.5 at his last start and will play a part from the pole. HOPPYS WAY (7) is a versatile type who has options at the start and must be considered on his win here two starts back. Tips: 2 8 1 7 Suggested Bet: SMART WATCH (2) to win. Race 2 CORDERO (1) raced in stronger company last time in and did defeat Chicago Bull back in February. He has trialled nicely for his return and will give a great sight from the pole. STAR OF DIAMONDS (6) looks to be working back to her best form and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. MISS MUCHO (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be dangerous if she sees daylight at the right time. MASTER PUBLISHER (7) bounced back with an emphatic win here in good time last week and can go on it with now. Tips: 1 6 10 7 Suggested Bet: MISS MUCHO (10) each way. Race 3 FANCI A DANCE (1) was a strong winner here before competing well when 5th to Lavra Joe at his last start and is clearly the one to beat from the pole if he can hold up at the start. ARMA EINSTEIN (4) ran on from the rear to win here last week and must be considered again. MIRRAGON (7) had trouble keeping up with the state’s best pacers at his last start but is suited in this class. BOOM TIME (5) ran on well when narrowly beaten by Rockaball at his last start and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 4 7 5 Suggested Bet: FANCI A DANCE (1) to win. Race 4 HAMPTON BANNER (1) led throughout in 1.54.4 when defeating Lavra Joe over this distance at his last start and a repeat performance will make him very hard to beat. PLUTONIUM (2) is flying and lost no admirers when facing the breeze and running 2nd to Lavra Joe here last week and will fight out the finish again. MIGHTY RONALDO (3) is first-up but is one of the state’s fastest pacers and will be charging to the line. JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) has the class but will need some luck after drawing outside his main rivals. Tips: 1 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: HAMPTON BANNER (1) to win. Race 5 FINVARRA (5) has won eight of his 16 career starts and looks a major player despite being first-up without a trial. DONT BOTHER ME NONE (3) led when a close-up 3rd in 1.55.5 at his first run back from a spell and will strip fitter for that effort. ELDAYTONA (10) won four of his last five starts before going for a break and has trialled nicely for his return. POWER AND GRACE (1) doesn’t have the class of most of his rivals but will lead comfortably in the early stages and has options from that point. Tips: 5 3 10 1 Suggested Bet: FINVARRA (5) to win. Race 6 NEVER ENDING (1) has impressed in winning all five career starts and is clearly the one to beat after coming up with the pole draw. IM THE BLACK FLASH (12) was an emphatic winner at his only start in the WA and looks the main danger but will be giving the favourite a big head start. LUSAKA (2) has won both starts and looks to have plenty of ability but steps up in class tonight. FESS UP (10) doesn’t have the class of many of these but is drawn to trail the favourite and can be placed. Tips: 1 12 2 10 Suggested Bet: NEVER ENDING (1) to win. Race 7 THREE RUMOURS (3) resumed with three 2nds before breaking through with an easy Narrogin win. She goes back up in class tonight but appeals as the one to beat. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (10) was a surprise leader in the Dainty Daughter here last week and gave a great sight when a narrow 2nd to Sovrana. She is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be dangerous late. PAROQUET (4) is one-dimensional but will give a great sight if she crosses at the start. THE AMBER HARE (7) had no luck last week and will be running on. Tips: 3 10 4 7 Suggested Bet: THREE RUMOURS (3) to win. Race 8 JETT STAR (5) ran on well to finish 2nd to Tenzing Bromac in slick time here last week and can be put into the race when desired in this company. THE CODE BREAKER (10) finished a 4m 3rd to Jett Star before having a short break and any possible lack of fitness is offset by his nice trailing draw. COOL WATER PADDY (1) caught the eye with a fast-finishing 4th in the Tenzing Bromac race last week and will give a great sight from the pole. AUSSIE SCOOTER (4) finished 3rd in that event but isn’t as well drawn tonight. Tips: 5 10 1 4 Suggested Bet: THE CODE BREAKER (10) each way. Race 9 JASPERVELLABEACH (1) led throughout to win in 1.56.5 here three starts back and is drawn to replicate that effort. ROCKABALL (5) ran on well to finish 3rd to Ezana here last week and will be charging home again. GLENLEDI CHIEF (4) will strip fitter for his solid first-up 4th off a 40m handicap and should be thereabouts. FIFTY FIVE REBORN (2) is first-up without a trial but is likely to trail the favourite and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: JASPERVELLABEACH (1) to win. Race 10 HIGH PRICE (9) has been battling strong 3YO company and bad draws before running a close 2nd to El Casanova on Monday. He is drawn poorly again but is the class runner of the field and he should prove hard to beat. VINTAGE BLU (4) is in career best form and looks the obvious danger after his strong 2nd here last week. NAME IN LIGHTS (3) goes up in class on his last start win but shouldn’t be fay away from this draw. IDEAL WHITBY (11) led when a close-up 3rd at his last start and can be placed at odds. Tips: 9 4 3 11 Suggested Bet: HIGH PRICE (9) to win. Race 11 PATCHED (4) has faced the breeze and finished 2nd at his last three starts which followed consecutive victories. He is the class trotter of this field and looks extremely hard to beat. LINE THE STARZZ (1) and CHUMANI (2) finished just behind the placegetters at their last start and this field has less depth. BIRTHDAY SUIT (3) is a reliable trotter who can be placed. Tips: 4 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: PATCHED (4) to win. Market Market
