Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 23, 2022June 23, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 PAUL EDWARD (3) has finished 2nd at his past four starts and appeals as the one to beat tonight after drawing inside his main rivals. GOODFELLAZ (4) has shown plenty of ability in his short career and his 1.56.4 last start victory indicates he is ready for the rise in class. LOUCID DREAMS (6) defeated PAUL EDWARD (3) here two starts back and is capable of winning this if the race is run to suit. WHOS THE DAD (10) has been placed in four of his five starts this time and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 3 4 6 10 Suggested Bet: PAUL EDWARD (3) to win. Race 2 MOONLIGHT DRIVE (2) has finished runner-up in three of his past four starts including a strong 2nd to Ezana here last week in a stronger field. He draws to lead tonight and should prove hard to catch. MARKHAM EYRE (3) had no luck in that event but had won two of his previous three starts and is the obvious danger. MASTER PUBLISHER (5) and TIGER ROYAL (4) ran first and second here last week but are drawn outside their main rivals here. Tips: 2 3 4 5 Suggested Bet: MOONLIGHT DRIVE (2) to win. Race 3 RAGAZZO MACH (1) was crossed at the start and then didn’t get clear when 3rd to Typhoon Banner here last week. He looks a better chance to hold up tonight and is clearly the one to beat. BLITZEMBYE (2) is likely to trail his stablemate and can be dangerous in the run to the line. DOMINUS FACTUM (5) showed brilliant gate speed to cross here last week and didn’t look like losing from that point on but goes up in class tonight. ARMA EINSTEIN (6) has been placed in ten of his past 13 starts and will be charging home again. Tips: 1 2 5 6 Suggested Bet: RAGAZZO MACH (1) to win. Race 4 REGAL CHEVAL (1) led throughout here at his last start and looks a good chance to repeat that effort but he does meet a stronger line-up tonight. SHADOW ROLL (2) was placed at massive odds at his last start and is drawn to get a nice run behind the speed here. JACK FARTHING (7) disappointed at his last start but is the class runner of the field and must be considered. VESPA (3) is versatile and dangerous in any race he contests if he gets the right run in transit. Tips: 1 2 7 3 Suggested Bet: REGAL CHEVAL (1) to win. Race 5 MAGNIFICENT STORM (4) resumed with a strong win from the breeze here last week and is the one to beat again but won’t get it easy tonight. JUMPINGJACKMAC (1) lost no admirers with a gallant 2nd over the short trip at his last start and will give a great sight from the pole tonight. DIEGO (2) is first-up but is drawn perfectly for his sit-sprint style and is capable of causing an upset. CHICAGO BULL (6) can’t be underestimated but he is first-up from a wide draw here and wasn’t at his best last time in. Tips: 4 1 2 6 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (2) each way. Race 6 MEDIEVAL MAN (1) was crossed by Dominus Factum here last week before running a strong 2nd from the breeze and will be hard to beat if he can hold up at the start tonight. EUPHORIA (3) has been racing well from bad draws and will appreciate the better barrier tonight. VALBONNE (5) had no luck at his last start but his previous form was very consistent and he shouldn’t be far away. MATTJESTIC STAR (2) should enjoy a nice run just behinds the speed and can be placed at odds. Tips: 1 3 5 2 Suggested Bet: MEDIEVAL MAN (10) to win. Race 7 PLATINUM SPARKLE (1) was an impressive first-up winner and then couldn’t make up ground in a quick last half when 4th to Rascal. She draws to lead tonight and is clearly the one to beat. BLAZE COOPS (2) crosses the Nullabor with solid form and has trialled nicely at Byford. He will settle close to the lead and should fight out the finish. MISS LAMARR (6) is racing well but will need some luck from this draw. IONA DIAMOND (3) has battled bad barriers lately but is drawn to settle handy here and can be placed. Tips: 1 2 6 3 Suggested Bet: PLATINUM SPARKLE (1) to win. Race 8 RUPERT OF LINCOLN (2) drew wide at his first start back from a spell and couldn’t get into the race here last week. He drops in class for this assignment and appeals as the one to beat. REGAL AURA (1) led from this draw on Monday and ran a nice 2nd to Hoppys Way and a similar effort should see him in the finish. BRACKEN SKY (6) has been racing in stronger company and looks a big improver here. PIERRE WHITBY (5) needs races run to suit but can be dangerous if there is a solid early tempo. Tips: 2 1 6 5 Suggested Bet: RUPERT OF LINCOLN (2) to win. Race 9 BETWEEN TWO THORNS (8) has been a beaten favourite at her two runs back from a spell but has plenty of ability and is worth one more chance. CABSAV (5) won the Sales Classic before going for a spell and will strip fitter for her first-up 5th at this track. IMAHERO (7) caused an upset win against a similar line-up here last week and must be considered. VALHALLA ANGEL (1) ran 2nd from this draw in that event and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 8 5 7 1 Suggested Bet: BETWEEN TWO THORNS (8) to win. Race 10 ATHABASCAN (8) is first-up for nine months but has trialled nicely for his return and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. TWOANDAHALFTIGERS (1) was a close-up 4th in quick time at his last start and will be hard to catch if he can make the most of this barrier. DISCO UNDER FIRE (7) has been unplaced at his past eight starts but drops in class tonight and can improve. THE KRAKEN (6) is suited in this company and can make his presence felt. Tips: 8 1 7 6 Suggested Bet: ATHABASCAN (8) to win. Market Market
