Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 26, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: IN MEMORY OF ALAN WOODWORTH MS PACE THE FREEDOM FIGHTER (1) is now living up to his early promise and has impressed in winning his last five on end. He is drawn perfectly and looks extremely hard to beat. MILLVIEW SIENNA (10) has been enduring tough runs and has finished just behind the placegetters at her last six starts but should enjoy a nicer trip here. BETTER SCOOT (3) is better known as a stand horse but should be thereabouts from this draw. ARDENS CONCORD (2) has been racing well and will appreciate the nice barrier. Tips: 1 10 3 2 Suggested Bet: THE FREEDOM FIGHTER (1) to win. Race 2: IN MEMORY OF BERNIE CUSHING MS PACE CAMPORA (1) hasn’t won in his last 14 starts but he has battling stronger fields and poor draws in many of those events. He was a solid 5th behind Simba Bromac last week and gets his chance from the pole tonight. SOHO CHELSEA (6) impressed when running on to finish 6th at his second start back from a spell and is ready to produce his best. CHEVRONS CHAMPION (10) was placed at big odds last week and should be thereabouts again from this draw. COURAGE TELLS (2) should settle close to the pace and can figure. Tips: 1 6 10 2 Suggested Bet: CAMPORA (1) to win. Race 3: IN MEMORY OF CHARLIE THOMAS 3YO MS PACE LINCS TIGER (7) has impressed in winning his last three starts in easier company. He has ran home in 26.6 on two of those occasions and his high speed will stand him in good stead for the rise in class. FIZZING (5) disappointed when a beaten favourite at his last start but has drawn inside his main rivals here. SPEED MAN (9) was a comfortable winner against similar company first up but isn’t as well drawn tonight. OUR CORELLI (3) started at $1.70 and ran 4th in a four horse race on Monday but the effort was better than it reads. Tips: 7 5 9 3 Suggested Bet: LINCS TIGER (7) to win. Race 4: THE CHANDON FINAL MS PACE LETS CHASE THE DREAM (3) had to do too much work in the early and middle stages when 4th in a similar field last week and will be hard to beat with a nicer run in transit. EL JACKO (9) was suited by the early tempo when winning that event and looms as a major player again. SOHO LEVIATHAN (1) has the speed to lead early and his recent form indicates that he will give them something to catch. IMA ROCKNROLL LEGEND (4) ran on nicely to finish 2nd first up and should be fitter for that run. Tips: 3 9 1 4 Suggested Bet: LETS CHASE THE DREAM (3) to win. Race 5: THE JOHN HIGGINS MEMORIAL MS PACE SIMBA BROMAC (2) has won 13 of his past 18 and been placed in the other five. He was beaten a head by Space Junk two starts back before recording a 1.52.8 victory here last week and is clearly the one to beat. JIMMY MACK (1) led and dead-heated with LIVIN LA BAMBA (7) last start and holds the key to the race from the pole. TYLER BRETT (3) and MAJOR POCKET (5) have both been ultra-consistent and become genuine chances if SIMBA BROMAC (2) doesn’t find the top. Tips: 2 1 3 5 Suggested Bet: SIMBA BROMAC (2) to win. Race 6: IN MEMORY OF LEO WATSON MS PACE CHICAGO BULL (1) is the best horse currently racing in WA and will lead and win this comfortably. RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (2) will get the perfect sit on his stablemate’s back and can get into 2nd if the favourite opens up early enough. BETTORS FIRE (3) is racing extremely well but it’s hard to see him turning the tables on CHICAGO BULL (1) after last week. GALACTIC STAR (5) will be charging home but the likely moderate tempo will be against him. Tips: 1 2 3 5 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (1) to win. Race 7: IN MEMORY OF RON PORTER MS PACE ROBERT THE BRUCE (10) has been unplaced at his last four starts following a solid 2nd to Walkinshaw. This looks significantly easier than his recent assignments and he looks capable of overcoming the backline draw. WAIMAC ATTACK (9) started favourite when 2nd to Simba Bromac two starts back and that is a good form line for a race of this nature. REMARKABLE (4) ran on nicely last start and will appreciate a better draw here. REGAL AMBITION (2) could find the top and be a big improver in that role. Tips: 10 9 4 2 Suggested Bet: ROBERT THE BRUCE (10) to win. Race 8: IN MEMORY OF HARRY MORAN MS PACE BHAGWAN (1) was a strong winner three starts back and ran well when 3rd to Natural Disaster in a better field last week. He should lead tonight and prove very hard to catch. RESPONDER (10) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and should be in the finish. ONEONTHEWOOD (7) has been racing consistently and can play a part if the race is run to suit. LISHARRY (11) was only 15m away from the 1.52.8 winner last week and they won’t be going anywhere near that quick tonight. Tips: 1 10 7 11 Suggested Bet: BHAGWAN (1) to win. Race 9: IN MEMORY OF ANDY SHEAHAN MS PACE GLENFERRIE TYPHOON (7) has sped to the front from wide barriers at his last three starts and won them all convincingly. The main dangers have all finished in his wake in those starts so he is clearly the one to beat. SUN OF ANARCHY (6) has chased the favourite home at his last two and should be in the money again. REMINDER CALL (1) was a good 2nd to the favourite two starts back and draws to play a part. SUNOFLINDENNY (8) has the ability but the wide draw will make it tough. Tips: 7 6 1 8 Suggested Bet: GLENFERRIE TYPHOON (7) to win. Race 10: IN MEMORY OF LAURIE KENNEDY 3YO FILLIES MS PACE SHEEZ IMPRESSIVE (3) has finished near the rear at four of her last five starts but she has been racing considerably stronger opposition than she meets tonight. She is well drawn and gets her chance to bounce back into the winners’ circle. DELIGHTFUL SHADOW (5) is the only other winner in the event and looks the logical danger. OWNTHETHRONE (9) is racing fairly but has to overcome the widest draw. FUNKY OLE MEDINA (10) has finished just behind the placegetters at her past two starts and this is no harder. Tips: 3 5 9 10 Suggested Bet: SHEEZ IMPRESSIVE (3) to win. Market Market
