The Scout: Saturday NBA Tips

Dallas Mavericks @ Orlando Magic

Dallas have Luka Doncic back from injury after missing a seven game stretch which saw the Mavs go 3-4.

Orlando entered the All-Star break with back to back wins and a spot inside the East’s top eight.

Doncic is averaging a 28.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game and his supporting cast look to be improving – namely Kristaps Porzingis (18 ppg) and Tim Hardaway Jr (15ppg).

Nikola Vucevic (19 points, 11 rebounds per game) can cause issues for Dallas, but ultimately I see Mavericks coming out on top.

Dallas’ last five road wins have all been by a margin of 10 points or less and I see that being the case again here.

Suggested Bet: Dallas 1-10 @ $2.75*

Denver Nuggets @ Oklahoma City Thunder

Both of these sides were playing well pre All-Star break, with the Nuggets winning four of their last five and the Thunder five of their last seven.

The Nuggets offense runs through Nikola Jokic, but since returning from injury, Jamal Murray has been on a tear, averaging 30ppg in his last four games.

Denver have also welcomed back Gary Harris and Paul Millsap, easing the offensive burden on Jokic, and creating more opportunity for him as a facilitator.

The big man has averaged nine assists over his last eight games including 13 against the Spurs two games back.

Suggested Bet: Jokic 10+ Assists @ $2.75*

San Antonio Spurs @ Utah Jazz

The Jazz had won four in a row leading into the All-Star break, while the Spurs had dropped five of their last six.

Although the Spurs’ results had been horrible, all matches were on the road and no loss was by more than 10 points.

Utah’s home record reads 20-5 and I think the All-Star experience for Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell will propel this roster through the back-end of the season.

I expect the Spurs to be competitive (they always are) but ultimately come up short.

Suggested Bet: Utah 1-10 (Margin) @ $2.55*
