England v Switzerland

Gareth Southgate will be forced into one change with Marc Guehi suspended. Ezri Konsa is set to come in, and there have been rumours of a shift in formation to 3-5-2. England have been lacklustre throughout but have the talent to make it to the semi-finals and beyond if Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, and Phil Foden can click for 90 minutes.

Switzerland go into this game with confidence having disposed of reigning champions Italy in the last 16. Wide man Silvan Widmer is back having served a one-match ban. However, Dan Ndoye impressed in his absence so may retain the position. Granit Xhaka has been one of the best players in Europe this year and will again be vital in midfield.

Netherlands v Turkey

The Netherlands were quite impressive in their 3-0 win over Romania, and coach Ronald Koeman is unlikely to tinker much. However, Steven Bergwijn came off injured at half time in that game and his replacement Donyell Malen was on the scoresheet. Jeremie Frimpong is another option to take up a position on the wing. Cody Gakpo is the tournament’s joint top scorer with three goals.

Merih Demiral, Turkey’s two-goal hero in the win over Austria, has been issued a two-match ban by UEFA for a gesture he made during the contest. The defender joins Orkun Kokcu and Ismail Yuksek on the sidelines as they are also ruled out through suspension. In positive news, captain Hakan Calhanoglu makes a welcome return and Samet Akaydin could come into the backline.
