The Scout: EPL Matchday 8 Posted on October 4, 2019 | Posted by The Scout Burnley vs Everton 5th October, 10pm WST Burnley should be proud of their start to the season. Sitting 11th (2 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses), they have only had their colours lowered by Liverpool and Arsenal to date. Everton on the other hand have been a major disappointment. 15th on the table, the Toffees have lost three straight and could drop to 19th with a loss here. Everton have been poor at both ends of the field, scoring just six goals to this point of the season and conceding 12 in their last five Premier League fixtures. I’m not sure if Burnley will win but I’m confident they’ll get plenty of opportunities to score. They’ve only been held scoreless once this year, and that was against League leaders, Liverpool. The door should be wide open for New Zealand striker Chris Wood to continue his rich vein of form, scoring three goals in his last two matches. Wood started the season slowly but has found his rhythm and looks great value to get one past the struggling Everton defense. Suggested Bet: Chris Wood Anytime Goalscorer @ $3.30* Norwich vs Aston Villa 5th October, 10pm WST Two newly promoted sides already fighting for their Premier League lives as Norwich (17th) host Aston Villa (18th) at Carrow Road. Norwich’s attacking style saw them upset Manchester City last month, but has also seen them left vulnerable to counter-attacks, conceding an alarming 16 goals for the season. Aston Villa play a much more conservative brand of football, conceding just 11 times but only managing the one win back in Week 3. Norwich’s two wins have both come at home where they have been fantastic. In the three matches at Carrow Road they’ve scored eight goals – including three against Manchester City and two against Chelsea. The Canaries boast one of the most exciting attacking duos in the Premier League – Todd Cantwell and Teemu Pukki – who have combined for eight goals and four assists through seven games. Villa are yet to win a match on the road this season and I think they’ll struggle to contain a rampant Norwich at home. Suggested Bet: Match Result Norwich @ $2.40* West Ham vs Crystal Palace 6th September, 12.30am WST The Hammers haven’t lost a match since their Week 1 fixture (against Man City) and now find themselves 5th having taken 12 points from their last six games. A fantastic start! 9th placed Crystal Palace have also been strong with a record of 3W-1D-2L. The Eagles have built their season on stellar defense, conceding just seven goals in as many games. West Ham have won back to back matches at home with both scorelines reading 2-0. Ukrainian Midfielder Andriy Yarmolenko has been in the thick of things, scoring in back to back games and bringing a world-class level of creativity to a side that has long struggled in front of goal. Scoring goals is the biggest issue right now for Crystal Place. They’ve only scored six in seven matches, including a return of zero goals (in seven appearances) from their star striker Wilfried Zaha. West Ham are unbeaten in 11 of their last 13 home matches across all competitions. Crystal Palace come into this match without captain Luka Milivojević and will struggle to contain a West Ham squad on the cusp of a top four spot. Suggested Bet: Match Result West Ham @ $1.94* *Odds correct as at 8.25am, 4th October 2019. Market Market
