Michael Heaton’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 20, 2026March 20, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 RARE HONOR has finished in the money at 3 of his past 4 starts and is building towards an overdue maiden win. He ran (a distant) third to impressive winner Wynn Last Vegas last start and whilst he now steps from a mile to 2000m, he meets a weaker field and he was narrowly beaten to the WA Oaks-bound Heavenly Rapture over 1800m 2 starts back. GOLD ENIGMA was huge in that exact race when off the track the entire and finishing a close third. Would’ve liked to see him break through at York last Sunday but he now gets Pike and a soft draw. FARADIO looks a genuine staying type and there wasn’t much between him and LORD ARCADIA last start. They can ride the speed again. Numbers: 3-9-4-5 Suggested Bet – RARE HONOR EACH-WAY RACE 2 MIDNIGHT STAR was no match for the impressive Wynn Las Vegas last start but jumped better with the addition of blinkers and was good late on a day that was tough to make ground. The step to a mile from a better draw now should be ideal and she looks hard to beat. MAGIC CARATS was tested at 2200m last time out and looks much better suited back to 1600m. He’s not an easy horse to ride but could suit Jarrad Noske’s style and he’s always shown glimpses throughout his career. ARRANGEMENT was always going to find the 1400m on debut a bit too sharp looking at his trials. He should continue to improve as the distances increase and with the benefit of race experience. BLUE LUPIN might end up a long way back but was sectionally a very good run first up and looks another who will appreciate the extra furlong. Numbers: 12-1-11-7 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT STAR WIN RACE 3 MAMMA SAYS SO has drawn poorly again but has versatility. She’s been good at each of her 3 starts this prep and absorbed pressure when breezing in a high-rating maiden where she was beaten less than a length last start. Just needs to run out a strong 1200m. EFFORTLESSLY hasn’t been seen publicly since her quiet trial 4 weeks ago but a repeat of either of her first two runs last prep would see her go well here. GOLDEN CHATTER was backed off the boards first up but wasn’t overly tractable in running. In review she did a good job to still finish off as well as she did but she’ll likely get a long way back here. BAHNBOUGLE BABY gets the run of the race. Numbers: 7-9-11-1 Suggested Bet – MAMMA SAYS SO RACE 4 KING BREW always showed ability at trials then made an encouraging debut as a 6YO at York when off the track throughout and finishing a fighting second to Superb Vintage (who has since won again at York). He chased home the talented Shilling Lane at Pinjarra last start when running the fastest last 200m of the day from the breeze and he has the speed to get across from his awkward draw here. BATISTA ran third to handy filly So Si God first up and was solid over 1400m last start. Back to 1300m now looks suitable and Pike sticks. BHULLAR hit the line well when unsuited by the on-speed pattern of the day last time out and looks ready to win one but he has a tough gate to overcome. FORGOTTEN SON will be doing his work late. Numbers: 2-5-8-6 Suggested Bet – KING BREW WIN RACE 5 WHEELY looked the winner last start until a Herculean effort from Peter Gunn to come from a mile back and get over the top of him late. He gapped the third-placed horse by nearly 2L, gets an extra 100m now and can go one better. ABOUT TURN led them for a long way last start and looks likely to get an easy enough lead here. He’ll be hard to run down. UNIVERSAL TALK ran well at $51 on debut last prep and looked sharp in his recent trial win. He should box seat to get the run of the race and Laqdar Ramoly appears to have elected to ride him over Just Petty Cash. ROCKSTAR QUEEN was huge last start and you can make a case she would’ve won without the early interference she copped. Numbers: 5-4-6-13 Suggested Bet – WHEELY WIN RACE 6 DANCEWITHME couldn’t have been more impressive in his first start for Luke Fernie’s yard. The lightly-raced 4YO let rip like a proper horse who could zip through the grades and the step to 1200m shouldn’t be an issue. ROAMING AMERICA comes out of a high-rating 1000m maiden win where he did it at both ends. He was also entered for a 3YO 1200m at Ascot on Saturday but heads to the easier assignment of the two. SHOW THE WAY is a hard horse to catch but is a model of consistency and has raced in higher grade at his last 7 outings. RIVETING ROSIE maps awkwardly but trialled up nicely without her raceday visors on and gets Pike. Numbers: 5-1-2-8 Suggested Bet – DANCEWITHME WIN RACE 7 SPLIT THE GEE resumes first up, no trial and is beautifully placed. Each of her 8 career starts have been at Saturday level (including a 2YO Plate and Graduation win) and she’s capable of reeling off sharp late figures. She looks hard to beat kicking off in a C3. THINK PINK DAZE has won of 2 of her 3 starts to date and resumes off the back of a quiet trial. She looks another 3YO filly with upside. JUST GIFTED has been hit and miss but should lead again and her last-start second to the in-form Prawns Eleven in a C5 reads up well. MISS VALMALENCO bumped into the progressive Excess Baggage (races at Ascot on Saturday) 2 starts back and won well last time out. Going well but it looks an awkward map from the gate with some speed drawn to her inside. Numbers: 2-7-8-3 Suggested Bet – SPLIT THE GEE WIN RACE 8 CAN’T CATCH ME looked a query stepping to 1500m last start and appears much better suited back to 1400m here. Her earlier form around God’s Cross and Desert Waves reads up well and she looks the likely leader again. KAZANA resumes without a trial but was a big winner on debut last prep when racing wide without cover and knocking off Admire Astra. She was thrown in the deep end in the Burgess Queen and WA Champion Fillies Stakes after that and was sound. BANNERED hasn’t had much go right lately but maps much more favourably here and slides back into a C1 with a good claim. KAT FIVE has returned a new and improved filly this time in. Numbers: 2-9-1-6 Suggested Bet – CAN’T CATCH ME WIN RACE 9 Open edition of the TABtouch Pinjarra Cup. ARCADIA PARK was the beneficiary of a masterful CJP ride in the Bunbury Cup when being put into the race at the exact right time and making a sustained run. He rises 2kg now but is a genuine staying type who should relish the extra 300m. ROCKING SOCIETY is another who should eat up the extra ground. He ran fourth in the Perth Cup before being freshened and running second in the Detonator Stakes and then wasn’t all that suited when having to get going after Arcadia Park was already off and gone in the Bunbury Cup. ROYAL TORONADO is yet to win past 1800m but has returned in good form, loves a quick back up and gets Pike. SILVER EYE has gone to a new level this campaign and found the line better than anything in the Bunbury Cup so he might get 2300m now? Numbers: 2-6-8-1 Suggested Bet – ARCADIA PARK EACH-WAY RACE 10 SEINDEEL got held up at a crucial stage last start but ended up powering home to do his best work through the line. He’s improved with each run under the new care of Michael Lane and looks ready to break through. MANGIFERA and ELEGANT INDI were similarly hard-luck stories last time out and are both mares in form. MANGIFERA could be sweating for a run again from her inside draw and ELEGANT INDI may have to take her medicine and go back from the outside alley. SOVEREIGN SALUTE is eligible for far easier but was one of the runs of the meeting on an on-speed day last start and looks progressive. Numbers: 2-8-7-10 Suggested Bet – SEINDEEL WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 2,3,7,8 1,2,9,6 1,2,6,8,11 2,7,8,10 Market Market
