Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on March 19, 2026March 19, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 IMMORTAL STAR found nothing in the winkers at Flem, they’ve been removed and the horse freshened, winning chance running up to previous form. The in-form stable of Danny O’Brien lines up SASSY BOOM in a moderate BM78 to start the campaign, jumpouts have been good enough to suggest she’s forward and can lead with Jakson Radley claiming. Former HK gelding KA YING CHEER has looked good rounding them up at the lower levels, he won’t get pace to suit but may have more upside. TOOKAY PETE can land on-speed and racing well. Selections: 1,2,6,7 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 2 No tempo on paper. MR BANNOCK has some tactical speed and may use it, BLUESTONE can join him, he was super first-up then ridden quiet last start and never came on, there was strong market support to suggest he was there to win, ridden more forward he gets a chance in this. ZIBULON looks ready to peak third-up out of the Preusker stable, back in trip the query. FLAMIN’ ROMANS can be hard to catch, he does have a good record at Caulfield and must be respected in a very even field. Selections: 4,9,10,1 Suggested Bet: BLUESTONE win RACE 3 MYHRO’S RULER may end up getting a soft lead on debut, the Wild Ruler gelding has shown natural speed and is a good beginner, with many of his key rivals likely to give him a start. WHITE POINTER is another debutant showing promise, he’s raw but a beautiful mover, the 1200m at Caulfield may prove too sharp for him. FAWLTY TOWERS hit the line nicely over 1000m on debut, hard to line up the Sydney 2YO form into this. Respecting race winner RICH ON BUBBLES and the race experience of CYCLOTRON, tricky race. Selections: 5,6,3,1 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 4 GETTA GOOD FEELING should start a dominant favourite, carried over residual fitness from the Oaks campaign and sprinted sharply over 1200m fresh, she looks to have found her calling as a sprinter/miler and this race sets up nicely for her. CLASSIC GEM is one of the best maidens in Victoria, she too is coming off an Oaks campaign and changes stables, jumpouts suggest ready to go, opted for this over a Ballarat maiden/Friday. STRICTLY BUSINESS is a head-scratcher, jumpouts have been poor but is a shrewd stable, blind trust needed. It’s anyone’s race beyond the top three. Selections: 2,3,1,5 Suggested Bet: GETTA GOOD FEELING win RACE 5 EL ROCKO can use the draw early and looks the leader, probably needs it wet to be winning. VERDOUX can sit closer than he has in two impressive wins to start the campaign, he’s hard and fit and hard to beat again. KING ZEPHYR has jumped out super to return for Grahame Begg, he would appreciate more speed than what is expected but will be running on. MERIDIUS is a talent and produced a good win fresh last time in, capable and stable is airborne, keeping safe. POP AWARD improves second-up. Selections: 8,4,3,1 Suggested Bet: VERDOUX win RACE 6 BASSETT BABE is a big watch switching states for an astute stable, two high-rating wins to start her career, she needs to jump fast to use the inside draw and should take running down. POINT BARROW is sure to command respect back against her own age & sex, poor effort in the Oakleigh Plate with excuses, quiet jumpout since, need to see again. Taking a line through ALPHA SOPHIE’s first-up win here she is mighty hard to beat if you can forgive the Flem effort. SCENIC POINT has jumped out well, doubt she was at her best last time in and can improve. Selections: 12,2,3,5 Suggested Bet: BASSETT BABE each way RACE 7 TREASURETHE MOMENT is well-placed at WFA against her own sex, expect the market to come for her, jury still out on her willingness to still want do it, she is still the horse to beat. ASTRAL FLAME and PHILLIA will go forward and give the favourite something to chase so there will be no excuses barring bad luck. ON DISPLAY appeared wound up at the jumpouts and had the pattern against fresh, back against her own sex she’s an improver. A big ask for the rest. Selections: 1,8,7,9 Suggested Bet: Exotics RACE 8 JIMMYSSTAR has jumped out like a bomb to return for the Maher stable. Potentially improved as a 6YO gelding and has been set for this race specifically. The inside draw is the only negative. JIGSAW is a late nom, the ‘Benjamin Button’ of sprinters has wound the clock back in recent months and deserves respect on current form, he should run them along early. As will TROPICUS freshened since winning the Oakleigh Plate, a jumpout between runs, running a strong 1200m is the query. ANGEL CAPITAL is an enigma and did run the fave to a length here in the CF Orr, take on trust. Selections: 1,2,7,4 Suggested Bet: JIMMYSSTAR win RACE 9 SINGLE CHOICE has an appealing map and is on the up for Matt Cumani, he goes to 2000m for the first time and it looks within his scope. Love the way ROULETTE KING has been finding the line this campaign, overcame an ugly ride at Sandown and picked them up out wide in a few strides, sharp class rise but I think he can take it. PLANET RED is clear market elect and for good reason, one niggle on him is Caulfield, prefer him on a bigger track, form lines are hard to ignore but will give them a start. MR INDEPENENT is another on the up and minor money hope. Selections: 2,9,1,10 Suggested Bet: SINGLE CHOICE 1 x 3 RACE 10 ENAMORADA can peak third-up and recent jumpout was outstanding finishing alongside Jimmysstar at Cranbourne. There should be a strong tempo early to bring her home from the back, a watch on the track pattern. Stablemate JACKKNIFE is an import worth keeping safe, they have been very quiet on him at the jumpouts, gelded, he looks a horse with plenty of class. M Zahra aboard. WATERSPORTS is in good form, STEEL TRAP didn’t come up last prep, could improve sharply into the money. Selections: 15,7,8,12 Suggested Bet: ENAMORADA win Market Market
