Matt Young’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 19, 2026March 20, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Good race here. VINITA ROSE (4) is racing in good form and should work her way to the top and give them something to catch, her recent runner up efforts in metro company have been first class. DELIGHTFUL PEG (5) on the back up after winning in a much weaker race on Tuesday, looks to have ability and run a big race but still learning the caper. ALTA ALLURE (8) finds a suitable grade and effectively a fair drop on what she has been racing, expecting her to be at the pointy end. DIAMOND BAY (1) is a place hope with DIAMOND WORLD (2) but both rise in grade. STARLIGHT DREAM (9) will be running on. Tips: 4 5 8 9 Suggested Bet: VINITA ROSE (4) each way. Race 2 A LITTLE SILENCE (9) trialled well after a long time away and expecting further improvement on the return run but barrier 9 over a mile isn’t going to be easy, wouldn’t want to be diving in too short. MAJOR OVERS (3) return and is a good front runner with early speed, will run well. BAZAAR PACKAGE (7) likely to speed out and if she could find the top on current fitness, expect her to run well, ready to win. BEATITLIKEBECA (4) won’t be far off them from the draw and strips fitter, will go well. MIKIPELO (1) a novelty chance from the draw. Tips: 9 7 3 4 Suggested Bet: BAZAAR PACKAGE (7) each way. Race 3 Open race. CHASING REX (7) looked to have his chance last time out and could have some fans still, can win but wouldn’t want to be dripping in red like last run. MANHATTAN MOON (5) is racing in good form, came from well back and hit the line strongly, just needs some luck from the draw. RAKERO RAIDER (11) wasn’t a bad effort last run and will be getting home well, could be very dangerous in this. HOLY MOLEY (3) lacks a bit of early speed, therefore the draw could present as a challenge. LILLIE QUEEN (2) comes in fresh and has some early speed but might have to try and fend out the very quick BLUE BLAZER (4) who is a solid novelty chance if he crosses. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (8) an outside novelty chance. Tips: 11 7 5 3 Suggested Bet: RAKERO RAIDER (11) each way. Race 4 Cracking race upcoming. CHACO EAGLE (2) back to a mobile and from the good draw, has the speed to lead early and will give them something to catch, he has been beaten when leading in a similar grade but looks to have improved since then. HUGOTASTIC (7) comes in off a freshen up and is extremely talented, might have lost some admirers and get out to a backable price, if he goes anywhere near his best he can win. BETTOR ARCADE (4) maps well and is going in a strong manner. CHIVALRY (5) likely to be on speed. CAPTAIN BLIGH (11) will run on as he returns with BELLY UP (10) who has an awkward draw. CAMS BOULDER (12) novelty chance. Tips: 7 2 4 5 Suggested Bet: HUGOTASTIC (7) to win. Race 5 MINSTREL (8) is second up after doing all the work and fighting on bravely in the Pinjarra Cup behind Magnificent Storm, he looks the winner in this. ROCKANDROLLARTIST (4) could fly out and potentially cross, if he leads, he can be a top 3 player. FINAL COLLECT (1) has a nice draw and should settle close enough and be a novelty chance. MIGHTY RONALDO (6) and GEE HEZA SPORT (7) are the two classy types who have form around MINSTREL (8), MIGHTY RONALDO (6) has come back well. Tips: 8 6 4 7 Suggested Bet: ROCKANDROLLARTIST (4) to place. Race 6 TRUNKEY CARRAWA (8) could spear across here and nearly lead, there will be some resistance from horses down low, but he could get the slingshot across and lead, if he does cross, he will be hard to run down. WICKED HUSTLER (10) comes in fresh and is capable of a bold effort, especially if the lead time suits. BURGHLEY SHARD (1) has a nice draw and races well on speed, will go well. IDEAL TOMADO (2) has improved in recent runs and should settle close enough to the speed. TROIS FONTAINE (7) will be running home and is a novelty chance with BETTOR MOVE ALONG (4). Tips: 8 10 1 2 Suggested Bet: TRUNKEY CARRAWA (8) each way. Race 7 SUGAR STREET (8) was a good effort last time out and his prior runs have been good, last run he was racing a lot stronger opposition, and this looks suitable, a negative for him is that he doesn’t win out of turn. THE WILDCARD (7) is brilliant off the arm, and no one gets him out better than Aiden De Campo, he could give them something to catch if he led in this grade. IM SPIDERMAN (3) was disappointing last start but is a capable type on speed, HOTFOOT IT (2) and BARBADOS (1) not racing well but also have speed with TOMMY PRICE (4) who is a novelty chance. Tips: 8 7 4 3 Suggested Bet: SUGAR STREET (8) to win. Race 8 LAST HARD COPY (8) is a highly talented pacer on return; he runs in his first standing start but has a 10m advantage over some of his main rivals and with a safe getaway he can keep that advantage and expect him to run a big race. PETES HONOUR (9) has been in impeccable form, proven in the stand and can run brilliant times, major player and danger. ECLIPSE LINE (6) is a winning chance again if he could work his way to the top but inside 10m is a harder task with some traffic. Novelty chances to MINOR CATASTROPHE (1), MY COPY (2) and GEE SMITH (3) and all three can begin swiftly. BLUTO (10) faces a difficult challenge off the handicap and that can be said for THELITTLE MASTER (11) who will need tempo on. Tips: 8 9 6 3 Suggested Bet: LAST HARD COPY (8) to win. Race 9 D MAC (7) returns and is a classy type, he won the Golden Slipper and proved to the testing material for the age group last season, will be ready to go. WISHING BELLE (4) didn’t compete in the Golden Slipper and showed that she was well and truly up to the boys, beaten on return but strips fitter and with the draw advantage could give them something to chase. PROPOSITION JOE (6) is a talented type, interested to see how he goes around the 800m circuit as he has been a little bit green at Pinjarra. CRUNCHNSIP (2) and INSURGENCY (3) are top 4 players. Tips: 7 4 6 2 Suggested Bet: WISHING BELLE/D MAC to Quinella. Race 10 IDEAL INTEREST (2) has the draw to dash off the arm and find the rail, he absorbed pressure two starts ago and went well and last start nothing went right, if he can hold up, I think this will be a good race for him. HI SUGA RUSH (7) first up for the new stable, he promised the world and delivered an atlas on more than one occasion but on ability, he will be hard to hold out. FRANCO MECCA (3) hit the line well after a freshen up last time out and the small field suits. ALLWOOD MACH (5) has been luckless, small field suits. Tips: 2 7 5 3 Suggested Bet: IDEAL INTEREST (2) to win. Market Market
