The Scout: EPL Matchday 5

Tottenham vs Liverpool – 15th September, 7.30pm WST

The Premier League returns from the international break with a blockbuster – Tottenham playing host to League leaders Liverpool. The Spurs are a juggernaut on (temporary) home soil, having lost just two games since the start of last season at Wembley. While up north, Liverpool are living up to the pre-season hype with their attacking trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane combining for seven goals through the first four games.

The two meetings between these sides last season saw a total of nine goals and neither side has showed signs of changing their attacking ways so far this season.

Suggested Bet: Over 3.5 Goals @ $2.60*

Huddersfield vs Crystal Palace – 15th September, 10pm WST

What’s the opposite of blockbuster? Huddersfield are yet to register a win this season and Crystal Palace have lost three on the trot since their Matchday 1 victory over Fulham.

Wilfried Zaha was sorely missed two weeks ago with Palace looking a completely different side without him in attack. The international break came at the perfect time, giving Zaha an extra week to recover from his groin strain. If he is fit, and starts, he will be a serious threat around goals and against Huddersfield, I think he can put the Eagles on his back and get Crystal Palace back on the winners list.

Suggested Bets: (1) Match Result Crystal Palace @ $2.45* (2) Wilfried Zaha Anytime Goalscorer @ $3.10*

Manchester City vs Fulham – 15th September, 10pm WST

Despite a minor hiccup against Wolverhampton, the might of Manchester City still looms over the Premier League. Meanwhile the newly promoted Fulham have been at the very least entertaining, with seven goals from their past three games – four of those belonging to Serbian Aleksandar Mitrović, who is a surprise leader in the Golden Boot.

Manchester City could well be the best attacking outfit in the world so it’s no surprise to see them leading the League in goals scored with 11 from the first four matches. What City haven’t done well is defend, conceding goals to (relatively) lowly sides Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Huddersfield.

Although I expect City to blast Fulham off the pitch with their talent alone, Fulham’s attacking flair and new found confidence should see them put at least one of their own past the League favourites.

Suggested Bet: Both Teams to Score @ $1.80*
