Sully’s NRL Preview – Round 16 Posted on June 23, 2017 | Posted by James Sullivan After a brutal Origin clash Round 16 kicks off in New Zealand where the Warriors and Bulldogs clash at Mt. Smart. Both sides are sitting level on 14 points after 14 games and it’s a crucial match to win for both sides. The second game on Friday sees the West Tigers welcome the Titans to Campbelltown, with both sides desperate for victory. The Tigers have lost their last 6 and the Titans their last 4 so one of them will finally return to the winners list! On Saturday we head to 1300 Stadium with the Cowboys hosting the Panthers. With no JT for the Cowboys the Panthers definitely get their chance to bank another 2 points. After losing 6 games by 6 points or less so far in 2017 the Raiders welcome the Broncos to a cold GIO Stadium hoping to consolidate their top 4 position. The top of the table Storm and Roosters take the show on the road to the Adelaide Oval. Smith, Cronk, Slater, Chambers and Cordner will all be absent from the fixture after playing State Of Origin Game 2 on Wednesday night. The Dragons return to Jubilee Oval and will be desperate to resurrect their form against a Knights side who continue to have a crack. Sunday see’s the game of the round for me where the 3rd placed Sharks host the 5th placed Sea Eagles in the “Battle of Boardshorts” on the Shire.
