Scott Embry’s Tuesday Broome Preview Posted on August 8, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ORNAMENTAL BELLE has been a model of consistency since coming to Broome and joining the small yard of Anthony Barton. Second to Regal City, second to Kentucky Dream and most recently an all the way 1L winner over 1200m. Comes back to the sprint trip, stays in the same grade and while rising to 60kg is drawn inside of main rival Commodore Gal. Think she an kick through and hold a spot. COMMODORE GAL was plunged in betting and was able to land the prize at her Rob Gulberti debut. Rises 2kg and unlikely to cross and lead here. SO BIRIKKINO comes back to 1000m and has pace. Senior rider on worth noting. MORE SNITZEL is going well. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – ORNAMENTAL BELLE WIN RACE 2 ISOLA BAY won a 58+ 1200 at Broome by over 3L beating subsequent winners Kennedy, Guarded and Danehill Storm. Then went to a 70+ and was only 3L off Dance Cockey, City Regal and Desert Thorn. Last start went to a 68+ in Darwin and ran well into second place. Drops into a 58+ here, Kyra Yuill returns to the saddle and he will look to jump and run. GUARDED has been a revelation since joining Sean & Jake Casey. Stablemate GORGEOUS GUS has run three great races in the region since arriving. DON’S LEGACY has been freshened up after flopping badly at Derby. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – ISOLA BAY WIN RACE 3 CHILLI BEAN looks ready to lead and win. Will need to cross them from barrier 8 of 8 but think that he is more than capable of finding the fence. Lat start was only run down late by Lindram Walter and that was a C2. Best chance in a long while. COMMANDS RESPECT finished third at Pinjarra behind Starring Knight in a 1200m maiden before heading to Roebourne and winning a maiden by over 3.5L eased down. Went to Broome last start and went around an easing $4.80 chance. Got crowded early and was spat out the back. Think she’ll improve sharpy. NEEDS TIME hasn’t been quite the same horse since winning his maiden. CONTENTO BOY still a maiden but tries hard. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – CHILLI BEAN WIN RACE 4 CASINO WAR was a big winner at her first start in Broome when sitting three deep outside the leaders and belting them late in the race to win by over 3L (beating home main rival Advocator by almost 5L). Since then has gone around $1.65 and $5 and hasn’t really had much luck in either. Think this is the thinnest race she has seen since she won first-up and given a freshen up can bounce back. DEE KEEPA brings intrigue. Purchased in a recent online sale by Darryn Pateman and went around in a Listed Fillies & Mares race at Ascot back in April. Shades on and racing fresh. NATIVE CHIMES couldn’t find the front last start. Can here. ADVOCATOR lacks a killer blow but is racing in great consistency. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – CASINO WAR WIN RACE 5 LINDRAM WALTER was a remarkably drifter last start. Looked the winner on paper after a dominant maiden victory and yet was $2.40 out to $7 in betting. Sat over the speed and worked into the race from the 800, proved too strong and too classy late. See no reason why he can’t win again. BUSTERS FORCE has certainly turned a corner late in the season. Travelling strongly on the dirt and finishing off well. JOHNNY REB maps well and is never far from the winner. AL MAHALO has a few gear changes thrown at him. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – LINDRAM WALTER WIN RACE 6 DANCE COCKEY broke the Broome 1300m track record when winning last start. Drawn barrier 1, gets through the kick-back, has tactical speed to hold a position in running and Austin Galati is riding the crest of a wave (7 winners from 23 rides at Broome, 30% strike rate and 147% POT). Maps a treat, racing in super consistency and is $5 at time of writing. Easy selection. PIT TO WIN meets him 4.5kg better at the weights with Cassey Martinan returning to the saddle. No luck last two. Improver. EASTWOOD went around odds on in a WFA in Darwin only two starts ago and was a big run in last year’s Broome sprint. SPEEDING COMET finally gets some weight relief. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DANCE COCKEY WIN RACE 7 KORANIS was the best bet in this preview at $9 last start and while he finished third, thought he was still a little bit below par. Austin Galati jumps aboard here and hoping that his good form can continue and he can kick through into a prominent position from the inside draw. Going really well and arguably better suited back to a mile. Going again eachway. BART’S BULLET will look to jump and run and lead throughout. YANKEE LIMA hasn’t been really allowed to stride yet. Drops 2kg, drops 200m in distance and a more genuine tempo outside Bart’s Bullet may just suit him. SCHOOLING a smokey if he jumps. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – KORANIS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,6 1,5 1,2,3,4,9,10,11 3,6,7 Market Market
