Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 13, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CASINO BELLE is getting fitter and fitter with every trip to the races and looks ready to win. A repeat of last weeks leader bias conditions will only enhance his chances. THIDWICK THE MOOSE was ridden out of his comfort zone on speed here 7 days ago. Has had success dropping in sharply weight off 7 days in the past. TAHGEO JAY was fair first up this preparation in what was really only a trial run. HIGH LIMIT is racing in good form and could land Peter Fernie another first four. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – CASINO BELLE WIN Race 2 ASTROPHOBIA was a much improved run ridden cold at only his second career start. Looks a talented type who is still learning what it’s all about, worth following. QUIRKY GIRL was equally impressive in the same race and looks the logical danger on that effort. WELCOME SHADOW has been competing in significantly stronger races and only being beaten off late. NORTH COL had excuses at his first start for new connections last preparation. Has form around some handy types and the Josh Brown stable is worth putting in the blackbook. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ASTROPHOBIA WIN Race 3 COOLGARDIE AL chased hard last start in a strongly run race. Ran straight past stable mate Premio Momento who was a subsequent 8 length winner 7 days later. Looks good form for this. BANTRY looked gone at the 600m mark in the same race and was gallant in defeat. Should appreciate every inch of the mile and when he hits a 1760m maiden is worth a lick. THE BLACK JEEP circled the field and looked the winner at his most recent but peaked on his run late. CYCLONE MAN cut the corner last week and ran on strongly. Another who should enjoy the step up in trip but may get a good look at the Charles, street from the gate. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – COOLGARDIE AL WIN Race 4 DECOY NOXIOUS appears well placed here dropping back to Class 2 company at his third start for Craig Wright. Drawn soft and stepping up ideally in distance. COSTA OESTE hasn’t been setting the world on fire in moderate midweek races but this is a drop in class. NOIR DE RUE fell in 7 days ago in what was arguably a weaker field. Lumps 60.5kg here and at likely odds on, is a risk. SONG OF WAR settled back and was grinding. Ridden closer improves. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DECOY NOXIOUS WIN Race 5 CHHAYA shoots for 3 in a row after two arrogant victories. Looks to have this race by the scruff of the neck if connections select to scratch from town on Saturday to keep her in Kalgoorlie to win this. DON’T SPEED has put in a number of under the radar runs this preparation and hit the line on a day where most horses struggled to make any ground last week. THE DELOREAN was lifted to victory by Mitchell Pateman who sticks again today. Maps to enjoy a soft run. BOOMA LACKA is another on the quick backup from a fair performance last Sunday. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – CHHAYA WIN Race 6 IT’S DYNAMITE drifted hard late in betting last start and ran accordingly. She is the class of this field though and todays opposition is only moderate. CHANTEGO STAR can slide across from the outside gate and control this race. Has run into some speedy types all preparation and shouldn’t have that trouble today. Engagement of Che Cockatoo-Collins a positive move from Johnny Eaton. MUDLODE is drawn to get a suck run for claiming apprentice Jade McNaught. Can play a part in the finish. OMERTA is building to another win and this race isn’t out of his reach. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – IT’S DYNAMITE WIN Race 7 HILLBERT walked in at his first start for new connections and did the lucky ‘Pyms’ silks proud. Form has held up already and this race doesn’t appear a whole lot tougher. Looks well placed on the path towards the 3 year old Magic Millions race. BE THAT POET only has two weak dirt races to his name and on paper looks to be going poorly but has plenty of excuses at both runs. NOBEL SUSPECT was ridden conservatively at his most recent which perhaps explains his below par effort. CLOAK AND DAGGER is drawn soft and has no weight. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – HILLBERT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,4 1,8 1,3,4,5 1,3,4 Market Market
