Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 20, 2021August 20, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 AMERICAN GRIN can continue the travelling dominance of the Adam Durrant yard as he returns to racing at the KBRC. Last preparation ran second to Superlove at Bunbury, second to Elafella at Pinjarra and second to Main Engine at Ascot in back to back to back maidens. Had two trials to prepare for this assignment and is drawn the inside gate. Just needs luck as he is likely to be three back the fence. KELLY’S HERO is the stablemate and CJP would likely have had the choice of the pair. Luckless first-up, got in a bumping duel second-up. JOYRIZE joins Josh Brown for the Kal/Esperance season and he’s gone for the big guns and grabbed W.Pike for her first start. CITY INVASION trialled well enough over 1100 at Lark Hill to win. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN GRIN WIN RACE 2 HE’S ALL MIGHTY was a great trial over 950m at Lark Hill when gunning down Neufbosc and Weaponson to score by 1.5L extending. Was a big drifter first-up in a Saturday 60+ and was held tight at crucial stages, eventually beaten 4L into 11th. Doesn’t read that well on paper but the horses in front of him included Kaptain Kaos, Campese, Zephyr Queen and a stack of far stronger metro types than what he meets here. Back on top of the ground on a Kal Good4, back in class and a proven weight carrier. Looks a nice race for him. BLACK COMET was unsuited by the stop start nature of last week’s race and still finished off strongly. He’s going super and Mitch Pateman proved last Sunday he’s still the King of Kal. BLAZING TYCOON was caught out in the cheap seats last week. Massive effort to still fight on. DALSWINTON goes from a 4kg claim to William Pike. Ready to win. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – HE’S ALL MIGHTY WIN RACE 3 MANHATTAN MONEY is a Kalgoorlie specialist. 8 career wins, all 8 at Kalgoorlie, including 2 of her last 4. She needs speed on in her races and gets those conditions here through Watto’s Fury, Turbo Power and Transgressor. When the gaps appear she can spear through sharply and this looks another very winnable race for her. TURBO POWER has shown a real liking for Kalgoorlie, finishing in the top 2 at all four attempts, including a strong win from the breeze outside talented and tough front runner No Surrender last weekend. TAJMALI hasn’t quite brought her best to the races so far this campaign but Pike’s booking catches the eye. LITTLE HERCULES is going brilliantly but the gate hurts. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN MONEY WIN RACE 4 SCANDOLO brings alternate form to the rest of the locals and should be afforded every favour along the fence by stable apprentice Tyla Becker. Winner of a C1 at Northam last campaign first-up when letting down well late to score with 59.5kg and has always shown ability, right back to the maiden win when beating Paris Report and Secait. Produced first-up no trial at Pinjarra and there was a stack of money around for him. Didn’t handle the Heavy8. This is a completely different scenario. VIOLATION is having her third start in WA and MR Peter Fernie makes another gear change. One eyed blinker is now coupled with a tongue control bit. Getting closer and closer to another win. CHAMPAGNE DIVA had metro 3 year old form from her last preparation. Three runs in this preparation all horrendous. Last chance to show something. CANTO DE GUERRA is drawn to get the run of the race and ran well two starts ago in a C2 here. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SCANDOLO WIN RACE 5 WUNDERKIND has been eye catching in her last three outings when finishing third to Black Lightning and Kenny The King, second to Star Present and third to Regal Dividend and Pyro. Last start was drawn gate 11 of 13 and went around a $4.00 chance. This time around gets 1.5kg on Regal Dividend and a smaller field. With even luck this looks her race. SASSATIONAL was sensational first-up. Copped the Krishane Warren Asterisk last start and couldn’t carry the weight of a nation. Willing to forgive and follow the first-up effort. REGAL DIVIDEND was strong to the line last start. Can roll to the top if Jade McNaught wants to be there. IT’S A LANCE finished third in a C3 behind Granrandell and Hip Wiggle two starts ago. Hip Wiggle beat Miss Zedel at Kal only 2 months ago. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – WUNDERKIND WIN RACE 6 PINK AND PURPLE has been a wallet filler over the last two meetings at Kalgoorlie. Romped in by 3L when going around a well supported favourite ($3.80 into $2.40) over 1600m two starts ago and then was hard in the market throughout betting last Sunday when again putting on a galloping exhibition to score by 2L eased down. The way she’s winning she’s still got plenty of wiggle room in the ratings and she meets a vastly similar line-up again and provided she isn’t held up along the inside it’s hard to see them turning the tables on her here. STRATOCREED brings the alternate form through the Kambalda Cup. Ran a ripper behind Fingermark and that form is hot. MAGIC WILL REIGN was put into the race last week and only peaked late. MAJOR MAMBO can find the top and control. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – PINK AND PURPLE WIN RACE 7 DARK MISSION loomed into the race ominously first-up when looking a big winning chance turning for home when travelling strongly throughout. Didn’t have much to offer when CJP pulled the trigger but the form around Kaptain Kaos and Campese should be excellent for a 58+ at Kalgoorlie. Was first-up no trial so should only improve fitness wise, is drawn another perfect barrier and Luke Fernie fiddles with the gear (ear muffs on). Worth following up. DEVINE BEAST got caught in an awkward position last start and finished off alright through heavy traffic. Her Kalgoorlie form of last campaign is super. SOLARIZE is kept fresh by Brett Drury and after the Stanley claim is well weighted for this. More than capable of chiming in. PROTECTED ACTION is a different horse in front. Looks to have enough speed to cross to the fence. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,5,61,3,4,75 1,3,4,8,10 Market Market
