Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 8, 2020May 8, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MANHATTAN MONEY was scratched behind the gates at her Goldfields debut when she was $1.95 into $1.60. Naturally a minor query with the lameness that was found by the Vet but trust in MR Peter Fernie (life motto) and going to back-up again. FISHY returns to the races and is best suited to jumping and running for the 4kg claimer. ROSEIECAPILLA draws to box seat and ran a couple of good races last preparation. ART ADMIRER has form around some good types but beaten a long way. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN MONEY WIN RACE 2 COCKY ED went very close last start when charging through the line. Brodie Kirby is riding the country and provincial tracks particularly well at the moment and watching Cocky Ed vs Mister Krumpets from last start he can definitely turn the tables. MISTER KRUMPETS will lead them up again and wins on soon. 1300/1400/1500/1600 he’ll do similar things. BRUCEY BOY has the King of Kalgoorlie returning to the region. Expecting him to ride a couple. SIZZLING AFFAIR has run two good races this preparation in the provincial area. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – COCKY ED WIN RACE 3 EXCARO was a strong winner here two starts ago and then last start was just held up at a few stages when Kyra Yuill was trying to work out where she was going to get out. Giving her another go here from the plumb draw box seating behind a hot tempo. WOCKNWOLL is the new addition to an otherwise unchanged line-up and she went through the grades quickly when last in work. WAR JEUNE won really well last start and no reason he can’t win again. ANOTHER DEMON can finish hard late. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN RACE 4 DALGARANGA was big winning from off the speed last start in a race which rated particularly well and in very impressive time and closing sections. Drops 1.5kg here going up in grade and this looks another winnable race. If he can just reproduce the run he is a big winning chance. DON’T SPEED got beaten by the narrowest of noses last start and probably the camera angle (for those poor punters aboard). He is bursting to win a race. WATTO’S FURY goes up 2kg and now has 60 but is in grand form and loves Kalgoorlie. MAJOR MAMBO (Lacka) is a different horse with Mitch Pateman on. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DALGARANGA WIN RACE 5 INDIAN CHANT is the Mitch Pateman selection and that’s where we’ll be siding. Would have had the choice of at least three other rides and sticks with the ever improving Indian Chant. Coming out of Saturday Ascot racing and if they’re making any ground at all he will be very hard to hold out late. SIGIL was a seriously impressive trial but Sigil is Sigil. MAGNIFORCE looks a better horse with Natasha Faithfull on and when ridden aggressively. DOUBLE THE PRO finds a few classy C5 animals but wins more races this campaign. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – INDIAN CHANT WIN RACE 6 REVEL has his first start in WA and brings an element of unknown to an otherwise fairly evenly graded C2. Was a winner at the Gold Coast (maiden and only win) off a 207 day gap between runs and now comes here 295 days off. Has had a trial and was sound and just needs luck from the draw. HERRON SAND is a back marker but ran some seriously eye catching races when last in work for Jayden ‘ChubbSecurity’ Thomas. RAPID EYE MOVEMENT has her first start for David Smith and he is a gun with new horses (think Excaro, think Spiritual Warrior). JUST FRIARS next best in a wide open race. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – REVEL WIN RACE 7 KNIGHT TEMPEST is an emerging talent on the Goldfields. Big winner two starts ago and last start only beaten by Dalgaranga in quality time. Should be able to hold a position from the gate and looks well placed to win again. NORD AVENIR has been flying without any luck and horror draws. Gets another bad one here but Mitch Pateman on is huge. WEMBLEY DAYZ improving quickly into the preparation. SURE CONVICTION ran a great race fresh. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – KNIGHT TEMPEST WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,6,9 1,5,6,7,9 2,4,6,9,10 2,5 Market Market
