Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on September 6, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 JACK’S FROST is getting very close to a maiden win. Should get almost eachway from the awkward draw and if he can get across he’ll be in the finish yet again. DIRTY DOT went very close on debut and should bounce straight to the front. Clearly the one to run down. WAR SECRETS was the target of relentless support at his first start for Peter Fernie. Ran well and should improve again. EMERALD ROSE almost surprised C2 opposition last start. Numbers: 1 – 12 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – JACK’S FROST EACHWAY Race 2 BOOTLEG RASCAL has become a bit of a bridesmaid, running three consecutive seconds to start the preparation. Last three runs have all been good and dropping back to 1400, blinkers on, Pike on, he ticks all the boxes and should break maiden status. KING FOR LIFE has been leading them up and running good races. DAFOX ran a far better race second-up. WATTO’S ASSASSIN looks to have a maiden win in him. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – BOOTLEG RASCAL WIN Race 3 NICKLAUS is starting to fulfil the potential he showed in his early days at trials. He is a big awkward horse who tends to run around but he can carry the weight and is starting to put it all together. BIG RANSOM has only won the once from 30 outings but should get a lovely run. KNIGHT TEMPEST was better last start but is yet to reproduce the booming maiden win effort. HERRON SAND has been going alright since joining Jeeps Thomas and sneaks under the radar. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – NICKLAUS WIN Race 4 UPWARD OTHERS has had four starts this prep. Beaten 15, Beaten 9, Beaten 2.5 and Beaten 3.5. His last two efforts once stepping out to a suitable trip have both been very good and against far better opposition than he meets here. KEEPER MEAN leads and is always hard to run down. PINK AND PURPLE was never in the race last start. Pike back on, she can improve sharply. ALL MAN got a well deserved win last start and looks a stayer. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – UPWARD OTHERS WIN Race 5 GLUTEN FREE should come out running and take up a position right over the speed. Maiden win was super impressive when doing a lot wrong and the C2 win was emphatic as well. TOURNIQUET is one of the most interesting runners on the entire card for an emerging stable. Victorian form is good enough. DOUBLE THE PRO has been a good thing licked his last two. Interesting to see if Pateman settles him in the same postcode as the leaders. RIBBON OF GOLD fresh can surprise a few. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet – GLUTEN FREE WIN Race 6 WOCKNWOLL lead and won impressively three starts ago over subsequent Goldfields Magic Millions winner Turbo Power. Went to town and ran well in a hot form race behind Uni Time and Go Crying and then bombed the start and ran a ripper in defeat. Pike on will have tongues wagging. CAN HE RULE HER is in form and draws to get soft run. WHERE’S WALLY is suited back in this grade. HARRELSON freshened up after a solid debut campaign. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN Race 7 PYM’S ROYALE is back to his home track where he is undefeated after 5. His recent efforts in town have all been good and he had excuses at his one and only flop. Recent runs at what looks on paper an unsuitable 1000m have still been great and he can bounce back in a hot 70+. SENORITA BONITA stalks the speed and won well fresh. BELLS TOWER jumps to the top and always takes catching. MIRACLE MAN draws wide but can give it a shake with any luck. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – PYM’S ROYALE WIN Race 8 DOUBLE DIGIT is incredibly well placed by an astute yard. At the handicap conditions of the race there realistically only 3 winning chances. He gets in at a luxurious 54.5kg and should reward rider Alan Kennedy for the hard slog getting to the weight. TOUCH OF SILVER will need a P.Hall special from the draw but is suited at the weights. HE’S A PARKER should be ready to show his best. FIRST AFFAIR gets it soft three back the fence and Pike will be looking for a split. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE DIGIT WIN Race 9 EXCARO faces her acid test. Stable look to have pulled the right reins by not accepting in the hottest 70+ of the season. She is very unlikely to lead speed demon Nemiroff but keeps improving every time she goes to the races. NEMIROFF was burning at Belmont. 5.5L above benchmark, was entitled to fade. ICECRUSHER is racing well and is the blowout. FAIRTRUSIVE gets weight relief but concedes them a big headstart. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,4 2,3,5,6,7 2,3 3,5,6,7,8 Market Market
