Scott Embry’s Saturday Mount Magnet Preview Posted on September 19, 2024September 19, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MARCHING had two runs at Carnarvon on the dirt and finished second behind Bolta and second behind Hero Of The Dawn. Last two runs have been on the grass in the provincial area and now he’s off to Mt Magnet and back onto the dirt. Jump and run. KING OF FRANCE has been up for a long time (11th start of the prep) but is getting closer and closer to victory. Backs up off 7 days and is another who will ride the speed. FAIR GRACE has promised to win one all preparation. MILITARY JANE a watch at her first run on the dirt. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – MARCHING WIN RACE 2 THE COOLAKIN KING won back to back races over 1000m at Carnarvon and then over 1200m at Roebourne. Hasn’t been able to get anywhere near the lead since then and hasn’t gone anywhere near as well. The Roebourne win was off 6 days and Ray Malpass now backs him off up 7 days and he finds a race without that much speed. Good set up for him. GO GO GRACIE wasn’t the same mare last week as the one who destroyed them fresh. Can bounce back. ORTUM KRISP is racing well and can take full advantage of the inside draw. FRIES WITH THAT finished off the Broome season really well. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE COOLAKIN KING WIN RACE 3 SHASFA is a maiden racing in a 48+ but she’s also lightning quick and should be suited to dirt racing. Expect that Beaux Edwards is given a licence to let her run and she’ll no doubt make things interesting. HOT NOVA similarly is very quick and attacks this 6 weeks between runs at her first outing on the dirt. These two could skip away in the middle stages. TINYNTUFF doesn’t mind a bit of kick back and can track through along the fence. MADAME PRO a watch – she won here last year by the length of the straight. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHASFA WIN RACE 4 SIOUX CITY won a 58+ 1100 at Broome beating Bin Shalaa and then finished 6L off them 4 days later in the Jackemjames / No Change / Red Rebel race which as been a great form race since. Came out and lead throughout to win the sprint at Newman and this looks another winnable race for him. ARCHER COUNTY has won his last two impressively but is 1400m back to 1200m and Austin Galati rides the stablemate? ROCKSTAR STATUS may be targeted at this race considering Austin rides? WISE WORDS continues to go very well. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – SIOUX CITY WIN RACE 5 ROEY CLAM landed some seriously good bets last weekend at Carnarvon. $14 into $5 and was simply too strong for them after parking wide throughout and winding up over the top. He’s backing up again off 7 days and races in the same grade, over the same distance and it would be no surprise to see him produce the same result. DEAL OBTAINED was well commissioned late in betting at Broome a month ago and duly saluted. ROCKING THE MERC is a model of consistency and has been freshened. SHAMARA won at Magnet last year. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – ROEY CLAM WIN RACE 6 BUTTERLEA LAD was recently purchased by Darryn Pateman in an Inglis Online auction for $5000 – if he wins the Cup he’ll pick up $16,440. Outstanding shopping and on paper he looks a big chance. He was too gritty for Hezazeb and Acermetric in the Newman Cup and he wasn’t disgraced in the Broome Cup which produced Carnarvon Cup winner Gamber’s Gold. LAUTRE is tough and is proven on the dirt at many different tracks around WA. BARTIME is probably stretched at the end of a 1800m but he could roll to the top here and that would bring him right into it? KENTUCKY BLUE gets weight relief. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – BUTTERLEA LAD WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,5,6,7,8 1,2,4,5,6,7,9 1 1,3,5 Market Market
