Extra 200m should suit considering he’s placed twice on the East Coast at 1400m and dropping 1.5k after the Austin Galati claim is simply a luxury. Should prove hard to beat. THE REVENGE raced in a C1 at the opening meeting at Carnarvon and did a good job to only finish 3L from the winner. Was specked in betting too which is always a good sign. MONSTER SHARK should go alright off recent runs. MISS HANDEL went well enough in the trial. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – SET THE SCENE WIN RACE 2 LEADER BIAS has actually been going quite well on the grass. Finished 9L off them first-up in a maiden at Pinjarra but that race contained future winners Falcon Trader and Duchess Of Gossip, finished fourth at York behind Manitoba and future winner Makin Prophets and then was only 3L off them in a 1500m maiden at Pinjarra 9 days ago. Fit and strikes a weak maiden. DEUCE AFLOAT showed a bit at Geraldton and attacks this fresh. Happy to back Galati on anything at the moment and the run when 3L off Fortune’s Luck, Bold Prophet reads up well. SAMBAZA ran well at her first attempt on the dirt. RAGING BEAUTY is desperately awaiting an available rider. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – LEADER BIAS WIN RACE 3 NIGHTS MYSTERY should take great benefit from his first experience on the dirt. He lead them comfortably early and then backed off the speed in the middle stages before being run down late. Watching all the meeting 1 replays it was clearly better to be wider on the track. All things considered – handy start to his Carnarvon career. Drops in grade and can park outside of Rakiura. RAKIURA heads to Carnarvon from Brett Pope and joins Cathy Godden. She’s a lovely little jump and run mare. MAHUTAS never gave up the chase behind Debit Credit and beat home subsequent Port Hedland winner Finest Clobber. KING OF PLANETS always a chance at this level. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – NIGHTS MYSTERY WIN RACE 4 DECOY BELLE made her joint Cathy Godden and dirt debut in a 56+ on opening day when beaten less than half a length by Mirror Moon. We saw three runners out of that race at the opening meeting at Port Hedland: Hezazeb (winner), Hawk (placed) and Justhandy (placed). Drops back into a C1 and is drawn to work across and stay out of trouble (and kickback). Good set up. WOJTEK was under pressure throughout fresh. He’s better than that but 62.5kg is a big leveller. CALICO KID ran well last start, but in a maiden. NICK OF TIME will be hit or miss on the dirt as he has no early tactical speed. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – DECOY BELLE WIN RACE 5 NERO CHIN CHIN resumed over 1200m in a 56+ when finishing less than 2L off Pure Dynamite and Al Magico (subsequent winner at Port Hedland). He drops back from a 56+ into a C3 and importantly Tash Faithfull sticks with him. This looks a length or two weaker than his first-up race and he should be there abouts as usual. NORTHERN RULER was a big winner at the opening meeting. Interesting to see whether he can reproduce drawn an inside gate. HAYSTACKS was a solid return. KEEPERS DREAM an unknown element. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – NERO CHIN CHIN WIN RACE 6 BIG BLOWS would have needed the run first-up at York and on the grass was always going to find them way too sharp at 1200m. Someone didn’t read the form guide because he was remarkably still $21 into $8 in that race? 1400 will still be on the shorter side for him but this is a good starting point to his Carnarvon preparation. CALLING CARD is a two time winner at Roebourne (both under Galati) and a Mt Magnet Cup winner. He’s first-up no trial at 1400m. Testing material. THE DIVINE WIND trialled well at Geraldton and then had no luck at his return. MIRROR MOON won well at her first start on the dirt. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BIG BLOWS WIN RACE 7 HERITAGE SASH won the highest rating race on Opening Day when parking close handy to the speed over 1000m and was far too strong late. Steps out to 1200m and after the Rosie Mahony claim looks well placed and well suited to go back to back. PURE DYNAMITE was able to get sit wide throughout and stay out of trouble when winning at his first attempt on the dirt. Big difference being drawn inside. Interesting to see how he handles it. ZEEWIJK didn’t get much luck and was beaten a long way fresh. He’s better than that. SIXPENCE SPENT is more than capable at this level. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – HERITAGE SASH WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3 1,2 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,6 Market Market
