Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on July 26, 2019July 29, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 EXCELLENT DREAM had the shades applied last time at Lark Hill and they really sharpened him up. He powered away late from a sharp filly in Amarillo Rose after traveling strongly in the run. Can go close on debut. MIA DOLCE is super speedy and will lead them for a long way. Iron filly who has had an incredibly 14 starts as a 2 year old. SPECIAL CHOICE may find the 1000 on the sharp side but draws to stalk the speed and is regally bred. BUBAROOCHY should find a nice spot and finished off strong in a recent trial. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – EXCELLENT DREAM WIN Race 2 METRO BOY should get every conceivable hope from the draw in a fast run 1000m race. This is not a deep race, in fact would not be out of place on Wednesday but he looks the hardest to beat. No big push, good race to skip. APOLLO was a far better run than it looked last start. Reunites with regular rider, draws a gate, improver. MY LADY FAIR comes from some strong ratings races but maps awkwardly and drops back to 1000m in the middle of a preparation. Hard to place. ICE MAKER only knows one way and the trainer’s instructions will be to run them off their feet. Brian Rogers may even put a suit on for it. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – LEAVE ME OUT. Race 3 ESSENTIAL SPICE simply picks herself. She looks to be a 1000m filly so the drop back in trip is ideal. She draws the most suitable gate for the preparation after being plagued with bad ones and now has W.Pike jump aboard for good measure. She should stalk the leaders and pounce. FAIRVIEW will concede them a big head start but be doing her best late. DAISHIO is knee high to a grass hopper. The 57kg probably sees her undone. Also not a huge fan of them off their second consecutive back-up. DAWN ARMADA looking for further but a nice type resuming. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – ESSENTIAL SPICE WIN Race 4 EYE ART, MR ALBY, NOIR DE RUE not a lot between the three. EYE ART comfortably beat home Mr Alby last start but was entitled to after the runs they were both afforded in the race. Tipping EYE ART on top to wind up over them but expecting MR ALBY to give a stack of cheek either infront or just off them. Big effort two starts ago. NOIR DE RUE is consistent as they come but just struggling for the killer blow at the minute. SPIRITUAL WARRIOR next best in an evenly graded affair. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – EYE ART / MR ALBY / NOIR DE RUE TRIFECTA Race 5 FREE TRADE jumps off the page and slaps you in the face. He has been backed hard in consecutive 70+ affairs and has only been collared late by a nice animal in Stageman. Drops back to 64+, blinkers go on for the first time and he reunites with Chris Parnham who was riding in Melbourne when he last stepped out. He can lead, he can sit in the breeze, he should win. BEAT THE DEVIL likely stalks him in the run and went through the grades quickly last preparation. PATROCITY was eye catching first-up but draws horribly. FESTIVAL MISS will have the last crack at them. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – FREE TRADE WIN Race 6 LORDHELPMERUN is going through his grades and while this is his hardest test to date he finds a race devoid of speed where he should come across and idle over the top of them. Looks likely to find the breeze outside of either Gunnago or Double Digit and from there he is the one to run down. DOUBLE DIGIT is extremely well weighted and has found the perfect race. Jade McNaught and Ash Maley combine at a 30% winning strike rate and he looks a massive danger. GUNNAGO was a good run fresh when ridden cold. Can bounce to the top here. TOUCH OF SILVER is going well and is always a winning hope. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – LORDHELPMERUN WIN Race 7 RESISTANCE gets another go after a tough watch last week for loyal followers of the luckless mare. She was tracking into the race but never got a crack at them and was eased down over the concluding stages. Backs up off 7 days, draws a gate and has an in form senior rider engaged. FRED DAG is the obvious danger and will be coming with a big run late. The concern is how far back he gets in a sit, sprint. FAIR SONARI is one who will get under the guard of most. He has won 4 races when leading and maps in front here. SKINNEN TINS gets it soft. Numbers: 15 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – RESISTANCE EACHWAY Race 8 THE FUGAZI has always had a big following and always looked like the type of animal who would improve preparation to preparation with maturity. Dominant win first-up and maps to sit right behind a hot speed. With even luck he goes very close. DISTANT TRILOGY is low flying. If Jason Brown can find the three-deep train he’ll come hard late. ZEPHYR QUEEN is clearly under-rated and her victory last start was strong when looking gone and digging deep in a fast run race. BLACKWOOD RIVER is a big lumbering stayer resuming. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 14 – 11 Suggested Bet – THE FUGAZI WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 5 1,2,4,5,6,7 1,4,15 1,10 Market Market
