Scott Embry’s Monday Northam Preview Posted on September 26, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CHAMPAGNE GAL has been knocking on the door all preparation. Her last four have been excellent since Lucy Warwick jumped aboard and the small field should suit. AVA EXPRESS looks the logical and only real danger on paper. Parnham has the option to lead or box seat and is going particularly well. PIERONOVA can improve. HIGHFRIAR is going well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHAMPAGNE GAL WIN Race 2 DAFOX has put the writing on the wall with his last three performances. Third to Koranis who has won since and then loomed the winner last start in a Metro Maiden behind Sea Maher. Draws a gate and should get every chance. MISS FLAMBOYANCE finally showed something after a slow start to the preparation. INDIAN CHANT is always there abouts and should lead if Newman wants to. NOBEL RIZE not without a blow out hope. Numbers: 3 – 9 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – DAFOX WIN Race 3 EBONY MAGI is only a Geraldton maiden winner but he has shown well above average ability his entire career. He now joins a third stable and when the shades went on in a recent trial he romped away from them like a nice animal. SCANDOLO on the quick back-up can lead and take running down. REVEUSE is looking for further but has a motor. THE FINEST draws poorly but was better than it reads on paper last time out. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – EBONY MAGI WIN Race 4 MOOD GODDESS went into her first-up assignment off the back of an impressive trial victory. Ran into a couple of nice types including an expensive Bob Peters yearling purchase. This race is more suitable but draws awkward. LEICA JAGUAR was very good two starts back behind Born to Try and then was very disappointing last time out in a small field. BERET looks like she’ll need every inch of 1400. GINGER FLYER looks like getting off them naturally in her races but showed a bit. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 11 Suggested Bet – MOOD GODDESS WIN Race 5 WILD VALLEY draws a gate on debut and the trials have suggested that she has above average ability. Most recent trial at Lark Hill was travelling strongly and had to come out sharply around heels. Few talented types in this but she should enjoy a lovely run in transit. HE’S ALL MIGHTY has trialed like a speedster who will be winning races early. Was challenged and fought off a race experienced one at his most recent. CELIATORE was backed off the map last time out and now has shades and a senior engaged. MELODY’S SECRET has nice enough race form to be competitive. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – WILD VALLEY WIN Race 6 CITICHANT loves the 1000 at Northam. Last win was in a C5 over the 1000 with Kristy Bennett on and now drops in grade after reasonable efforts in 64+ and 70+ grades. Mountains of speed in this should see her settle almost one out and one back. PRINCE DEVOUTLY trialed like a star and he will take serious beating. His back to back wins at Pinjarra over the 1200m were excellent. WANNA BE GOOD gets out the back and charges late. COPPER FURY is a speedster who will burn early. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – CITICHANT WIN Race 7 PEARLS FROM HEAVEN is not quite accelerating like she was last season as a 3 year old but she is building into the preparation and definitely loomed as the winner last time out. Should get it soft from the draw and give a sight. ABELDANE is getting close to another win but is a fair while between runs. He doesn’t seem to respond that well to the whip but fights on like old Kirov Boy. FROSTY HEART was the target of good support when scoring last time out and can win again. WESTERN STAR can win, keep in mind. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – PEARLS FROM HEAVEN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5 6,7,8,11 1,2,5,6,8 2,3,4,5,9 Market Market
