Scott Embry’s Bunbury Cup Day Preview Posted on March 22, 2017March 22, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 VELVET VIXEN was far from disgraced in top juvenile company when beaten 5 lengths by Seannie. This is a massive drop in class. SUPERIOR SMILE was never let off the bridle in his most recent trial. Could sneak under the radar. BOGGY CREEK PRINCE lead throughout in his most recent trial and should find that spot on debut. KWIK FANTASY looked hand enough at her only trial outing. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – VELVET VIXEN EACHWAY Race 2 HAYAN LAD is a talented maiden galloper. May still find 1100m too short but should hit the line hard. DOUBLED EDGED is drawn to lead this event. SCANDAL MAKER has bumped into a couple of handy ones so far this preparation and is knocking on the door. CHINA MISS was no better than three wide in her most recent trial and could sneak into the minor money. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – HAYAN LAD EACHWAY Race 3 MANTIME has been touted as the best maiden sprinter going round in WA at the minute. Likely to open up very short and he is an obvious risk going back on a typically leader bias track, however, should gobble these up. VERMONT LADY can improve with the blinkers added to her race gear. KIMBO’S GIRL will lead or box seat and probably run another placing. THE BUNYAH POEM is consistent and has trialed well. Numbers: 6 – 13 – 12 – 9 Suggested Bet – MANTIME WIN Race 4 MAYBE ONE MORE is getting close to a win and this is a very weak maiden. BRISTOL ROAD is likely to open up at cricket score odds but both his runs have been better than what they read on paper. WARBO N’GRATO should get every favor from barrier 1. BURGER TIME is a grinder who could fill a minor placing. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAYBE ONE MORE EACHWAY Race 5 BUSHFIRE BLONDE is a last start maiden winning 3 year old taking on the older gallopers and this looks a perfect assignment and opportunity to make it two on the bounce. Pretty keen on her chances. MELTING POINT is likely to start favourite care of the W.Pike factor but at 59kg is vulnerable. SISTER BENNIE got the job done last start but this is harder. MISS MEIKA rarely runs a bad race but also rarely wins. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – BUSHFIRE BLONDE WIN SuperPick - No. 6 Bushfire Blonde - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) Race 6 SALTY was something beaten last start when held up multiple times in the home straight. This race is arguably easier than the opposition he met that day and can make up for it with a win here. WOKEN will be setting the grass alight with Dashing Dan Miller engaged. AVON TRADER should enjoy a soft rails run. FOXINATOR has only won with Pike in the saddle and gets his services back. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – SALTY WIN Race 7 DIABLERIE becomes the obvious in a race decimated by scratching. Gets a wonderful chance to make it 4 from 4 at Bunbury. HASHTAG will appreciate dropping back in distance. LANNIGAN is over the odds for a horse capable of leading this small field. RUBY CAN RUN is a query at 1200m but has ability. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 11 – 4 Suggested Bet – DIABLERIE WIN Race 8 MATERIAL MAN was very impressive last start and even more so when you consider he was ridden upside down. Ridden back in the field from barrier 9 he can go to a new level and looks to hold a mortgage over this race. ELEVEN SECONDS can give cheek from the front if he is allowed to stroll to the top. DARK ALERT runs a lot of eye-catchers but finds it tough to win. Pike back aboard could be the key. TONTO rarely runs a bad race. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MATERIAL MAN WIN Race 9 BON SIGNORE has put together three very good runs at this trip and with Chris Parnham jumping into the saddle he gets his chance. SONNEN on the quick back up from Sunday will relish every inch of 2200m. TRIPLE EXPRESS has been luckless so far this preparation. GINGER NINJA was a solid last start winner but the jury is still out about whether that form will hold up. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 12 – 3 Suggested Bet – BON SIGNORE EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,6,8 2,8 3 2,7 Bet Now!
