RACE 3 No. 11 Critical Reaction

Interesting runner out of the Hayes/Dabernig stable who looks to have been earmarked for this race off a debut outing at Mornington when a market drifter beaten only 1.5 lengths. Whilst that’s not overly exciting she has since been to the trials winning at Randwick in an absolute canter leading throughout, the margin of 4.5 lengths on the line could have been much greater. Was a 25-1 shot when early markets went up, not anymore!

RACE 4 No. 1 Villermont

Last start Doomben winner who I’d suggest will be heading back north with a few others out of this race eyeing off the Queensland Derby in a month’s time. His win at Doomben was game as he paired out with Dark Dream all the way down the straight and although challenged very strongly pulled out plenty to score. He’ll roll forward again tomorrow in a race where there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of speed likely early on.

RACE 8 No. 14 To Excess

Interesting runner in this last race tomorrow resuming from a break. Only lightly raced I just get the feeling she’s been set for this with the benefit of a couple of recent barrier trials the latest of those at Wyong beating Chauffer by a neat length. Figures stack up well, he’s won fresh and his form last prep was competitive in good company. Big market watch.
