Mandurah Friday 14th July  2017

Race 3 – No. 4  Astrozone

Impressive when taking out the Mandurah Derby in late April from a similar draw and going within a lip of equalling the track record. He defeated the likes of Quick Jagger and Equanimity to name a few in that feature and while resuming tonight, he looks set to give this a real shake.

Race 9 – No. 3  What A Hoot

Slick beginner who has only finished further back than 4^th twice in her 16 start career. Narrowly beaten by a handy one last week in a near PB of 22.85 and from the improved draw, she should be able to lead them all the way this time.

Race 11 – No. 8  Capital Zed    SuperPick Profit Plus 20% (Win)

Last start winner in City company from the opposite side of the draw. Not the best of beginners but he can muster strongly and gets plenty of room to move out in the pink. He has gone as quick as 27.59 here in the past so expect him to play a big part in the finish.

Race 4 – No. 1  Ashom Monelli

Battled on strongly in the Paradise Street Trophy Final behind Art Noveau last week over the shorter 600m. Making his staying debut but breeding suggests he’ll appreciate the trip, being a litter brother to Teddy Monelli who is a 13 time winner over 600m+. Drawn ideally and should be able to make amends in this.

Race 5 – No. 1  Blazing Moment   SuperPick Profit Plus 20% (Win)

Had no luck last week when jumping from the opposite side of the draw and getting bounced around like a pinball. He scored a near 7 length win from this very draw 2 runs ago though and he should prove hard to run down once he finds the top.

Race 7 – No. 7  Aeroplane Bob

Another who had no luck second up in the state last week but kept coming to finish 3^rd in 30.35 when 0.5L behind Demon Bale who’s sure to be well supported in this very race. The wide draw won’t worry him and a win would not surprise at a bit of odds.
