Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview

Race 1

Open race to kick things off. GRACEFUL SHARK (8) has been racing well and chased hard with a hot tempo last time out but has been drawing favourably so the wide barrier is of some concern over the short course. GEARSINAWHIRL (1) has the speed to lead, and overall form has been solid in recent runs, distance suits and could be cheeky. SONIC SEELSTER (5) could come out hard, he is coming in fresh but is a speedy beginner and must be respected. HARRYS A ROCKSTAR (9) faces a wide gate but has improved in his most recent two efforts. FUEGO CRUZADO (7) comes in fresh and can mix the form. MY ULTIMATE KEVVIE (12) was better on Friday, but the race was run to suit.

Suggested Bet: GEARSINAWHIRL (1) each way.

Race 2

LITTLE BITOF FUN (2) is perfectly drawn, has good speed and looks the leader and should have benefitted from the first up run, he is a good front running type and this looks his race to lose. JILLIBY JAKE (1) looks a decent improver with a senior (so to speak) driver jumping on, should get a lovely run and feature in the money. BALINGUP BOY (5) is racing consistently, do prefer him on a bigger track as he can be rocky but has the ability. LUKE ATTACK (6) is racing well but form has been solid at shorter trips, and he may have to breeze. BLITZAR (12) will be running on well and has returned solidly.

Suggested Bet: LITTLE BITOF FUN (2) to win.

Race 3

HOLY MOLEY (1) debuted with a Friday night metropolitan victory and looks to be a nice type, has good early speed and is bred in the purple, this field looks easier and he looks very hard to beat. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (10) drawn to get the perfect run, didn’t appreciate the pressure when leading last time out and looks better suited to run in the money. ALTA KING (4) is racing well and can-do work in his races, looks to be a novelty chance. REELEM INN (5) is a quick beginner but likely to be close enough, looks tricky to be able to win unless she led. FLYING FELIX (9) will be running home strongly, he is in good form. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (8) is a capable type but is a bit one dimensional. JINGLING JEWELS (11) will hug the rail and be a top 4 player.

Suggested Bet: HOLY MOLEY (1) to win.

Race 4

Good competitive race here. TURBO JAY (7) is unbeaten in all three since coming across to WA but he only does what he has to do and that has me thinking he is a bit risky here, added to the fact I think he is shaky in being able to lead as that’s where he has won all three runs here. THE WAND WAVER (1) is nicely drawn and has been consistent, expecting her to be handy to them and run well. ELWADDELL (8) is a versatile type and expecting him to go close, map is tricky, but he can be put into it. FLYING RUMOUR (4) could be driven more aggressively and look for the top, could be an improver in this grade. CAMS BOULDER (9) I thought was decent on return, the class suits and looks like he will be forward enough to run home strongly and be a contender at odds. CHEKKER (10) rises in grade but will get the perfect run. SOUND WAVE (5) not the worst. Tricky.

Suggested Bet: ELWADDELL (8) each way.

Race 5

LOTS OF CHANGE (7) was decent on return and the form line has been strong out of that event, should be fitter for the run and looks hard to beat. ULTIMATE TESS (8) must be respected as she has talent but hard to dive into a short quote with her record of breaking on her own accord. COL DU GRANON (1) prefers the stands and looks a place chance with THE HONOURS (5) a chance to potentially work his way to the top and will run well, his form has been good since the stable change. KYVALLEY PICASSO (4) is a novelty chance along with BONNIE RAE (6) and YOUR KIDDING (9) at his best could improve.

Tips: 7 8 5 1

Suggested Bet: LOTS OF CHANGE (7) each way.

Race 6

ROCKNROLL DILINGER (2) has the nice draw and has been improving in gate speed, looks a decent chance to be able to hold up here and from there she looks hard to run down on current form. STARANNA (5) has been racing consistently, didn’t have much luck last run and has got good early speed, looks the main danger. SUPREME RHAPSODY (8) must be respected after a decent last effort but must overcome the wide gate and has had a few chances now. MIDWIFE CALLING (3) has improved recently and looks a novelty chance. LUNAR MISS (4) was quite poor last start and didn’t look interested.

Tips: 2 5 8 3

Suggested Bet: STARANNA (5) each way.

Race 7

SOUTH SIDE STORY (4) had a torrid run from the draw last time out and looks hard to beat but is likely to be very short and that is hard to suggest. AMERICAN TYPHOON (2) has the early speed to lead and likely sits to the favourite and increases her place chances significantly. BASINGHALL (8) is a better horse but is mixing his form noticeably. ELLEOFAREACTOR (7) chased hard last time out and was a solid effort, looks a decent novelty chance. DANGER (5) hit the line well on Friday night and can be included into your novelties.

Tips: 4 2 7 8

Suggested Bet: AMERICAN TYPHOON (2) to place.
