RACE 1

Even bunch. Race experience to the fore. PRIME PATTERN can improve on a drier surface, won a fast jumpout here since debut, blinkers now go and can give a sight going to the front. KING’S ADDRESS loomed to win on debut at Ballarat and didn’t finish off, 1400 is a positive. CLIFF RUNNER debuted in a stakes at Murray Bridge and was one of few to make ground on the winner, query the form. HYRDOBOMB made a good debut here then struggled in a stronger race at Flem, OPTIMUS returned to the jumpouts after knocking up on debut and looked impressive with head gear, no change in gear listed?

RACE 2

YAUSON was confidently-backed on debut and although won narrowly seemingly with plenty in hand, stepping up in distance is sure to benefit and can overcome the rise in grade. MCWOODY has shown above-average ability and hit the line well first-up, now a month between runs and with a new stable, open to improve but the inner draw is niggly. MAN OF THE SEA could get an easy lead, he’s one-paced and 1600m no issue. MONGOLIAN MISSION comes through the right races to figure, a query staying at the mile.

RACE 3

INTERROGATE was kept safe in betting and found a tricky spot in the run behind the heavily-backed winner Baganov at Echuca, he ran on strongly in the straight and can improve further, M Zahra jumps aboard. SANTANA is testing punters patience, every chance last start after being held up prior, sure to be in the mix again. So too IRREVERENT, continues to find a way to get beat, had the market with him last time and swamped late. CAVALRY SCOUT led up and faded on the Hillside last start, back to 1200m suits. AVENUE MONTAIGNE next best.

RACE 4

Competitive race for the fillies & mares. LADY THINKABELL is ready to win again and gets a significant weight advantage claiming off the minimum, she will be hoping to settle closer from the draw. SAPPHIRE SIREN is progressive and the appealing form line coming through the Sportsbet future star series, the rise to 2000m suits but gets here quickly, may need one more. MAKE IT SWEET will be popular and proven competitive at the level, needs a win. ALMAGO is thereabouts having had two runs over ground since the maiden victory.

RACE 5

LYRICS ‘N’ SONG went back after a good beginning at Cranbourne first-up and found trouble before hitting the line. Up to 1400m suits, needs a positive ride to be winning a competitive race. M’LADY ROSE has impressed at the jumpouts, any rain would enhance her chances fresh. Another to impress at the jumpout stage is COOLY and showed she was forward to return in a recent Pak jumpout. GOLD COAST BELLE will put herself on-speed and get every chance especially if the Lakeside is playing traditional.

RACE 6

Wide in the quaddie. REDDERS has come back well for the new stable, solid effort last start sitting off and chasing a dominant winner at Murray Bridge, the winner enjoying all favours. He is the starting point, SCENIC POINT promised much early after winning a stakes race at two, doubt she was anywhere near her best last prep and jumpouts suggest she can win first-up. PERSIAN CAVIAR is likely leader on-speed, the last 100m will test. JETT SMASH has been given 4 weeks to get over a Sale maiden win, tough draw to overcome.

RACE 7

Hard to go past FACTCHECK and entitled to start a short-price fave after being game in defeat when exposed a long way out at Pakenham, another perfect trailing run expected behind a faster tempo and hard to beat. MERCHANT FLYER has a big finish and can sit off a good speed up front and come with one run, ditto HOUSE OF LORDS and BOGA LEGEND who can pull out a run when they get the speed on to suit.

RACE 8

Race of the day. A few progressive types engaged and none more than TRAPDOOR who found one better at Sandown last start and hit the line in good style. With plenty of speed expected, he should be storming home from the back provided it’s the day to do so, stable generally scratch from bad barriers. THEBELMONTGANGSTER is an able replacement if he doesn’t take his place, in his 2nd Australian campaign, the former European has looked fit and forward to return. Wider chances to FIRST COURSE and ALERO. Waller-trained NOBLER worth respecting first-up.
