Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview

Race 1

BEE KIND (10) looks to have the talent but looks to somewhat of a handful on the few occasions that we have seen her at the trials, still learning the caper. Ability is there so she looks the one to beat. CARA DIANA (1) has had a few opportunities but has drawn well again and looks to run well. ROCKSTAR QUALITY (8) has good closing speed and comes in first up but looms as a strong closer in this. TOFFEE APPLE (2) has started to improve recently and can play a part in the novelties with GRIN DESTINY (4) who was better last time out.

Suggested Bet: BEE KIND/CARA DIANA to Exacta.

Race 2

TELKEM JAY (11) has performed well since entering the stables of Dylan Voak and has a nice trailing draw where there looks to be sufficient speed off the front line to really bring him into the event, hard to beat. SIDSTREPO (9) was gutsy in his victory last time out and looks hard to beat again but the draw is difficult. CARMELA DOMENICA (1) has the draw again, can be placed with PHILTHEJUG (2) who is consistent overall, but the draw could work out to be awkward. SONIC SEELSTER (3) will be hunting forward and is a place chance, seems to lack the venom needed late. ASHBY (4) was solid last time out and can work into the novelties again along with the stablemate ARUM (8) who must overcome the wide draw, but patience paid off for connections and the horse looks to have ability. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (6) is capable of better and should finish off well with YOU FLY WITH ME (7).

Suggested Bet: TELKEM JAY (11) each way.

Race 3

DAT LOVELY (1) has the good draw but looking at recent form, the better form from her has been over the shorter distance and therefore I think she could be a risk at the middle trip, looked to have her opportunity last time out and that is my concern at the middle distance. HAVEYOUMETTED (8) looks well versed for a race of this nature and has the depth to overcome the draw, will go well. LADY VIOLETTA (2) drawn well on return, should be kept safe. BIG BOZZ (3), PRIDDAH (4) and CHIEF COPY (5) all novelty chances with the latter probably the best winning chance out of the trio. IM SPIDERMAN (6) is fitter but prefer him on the peg line and on speed and AWAITINGINSTRUCTIONS (7) will be running on but needs tempo to suit.

Suggested Bet: HAVEYOUMETTED (8) each way.

Race 4

HER PRESENCE (9) didn’t have much luck last time out and looks much better suited in this grade of race, hard to beat. ROAD STAR (4) was decent last time out and looks likely to get a decent run, keep safe. LUKE ATTACK (5) can be driven in a tougher manner and stick on well. MASTER LEIGHTON (8) is capable but needs some luck from the draw. GET THE BOOTH (7) has mixed her form since resuming, her best is good enough but happy to wait. ISAIDBOO (1) and ALTAR (3) are novelty hopes from their respective draws and with no back line they will settle close enough.

Tips: 9 4 5 1

Suggested Bet: HER PRESENCE (9) to win.

Race 5

GOTA GOOD WARHOL (2) looks very hard to beat here, he led and was softened up in one of these events and has been consistent recently and luckless on Friday night, strong chance to get the job done. FIORD (5) was unlucky last time out and has had a couple of runs under his belt, expecting him to get home well in the small field. HEAVENLY BLISS (3) showed brilliant early speed on Friday and something like that could see her feature in the money again. RICHIE REACTOR (1) is a novelty chance at best by virtue of the draw. CODENAME ELLIOT (6) will be running on well with IDEAL IVANA (7) and TEMPT THE STARS (8) but the draws hurt the trio who do their best racing on speed.

Tips: 2 5 3 6

Suggested Bet: FIORD (5) to place.

Race 6

FRANCO MOTU (9) has two wins from the standing start and looks to be a talented type, can overcome the back handicap and get the job done at the shorter quote again. HEEZ A VIBE (7) is suited in this grade and will run a bold race, looks a genuine top 2 player. BEAT THE BANK (8) got home well and has been racing with heart in recent runs, expecting him to be hitting the line strongly again. Novelty chances to AMERICAN CRUISE (2), GEE SMITH (5), FRANCO MECCA (3) and STRAUNY (6) with the latter two both having hard runs Friday.

Tips: 9 7 8 5

Suggested Bet: FRANCO MOTU/HEEZ A VIBE to Exacta.

Race 7

MEGA MACH (1) has been hitting the line strongly in recent runs and caught the eye with his last two efforts, looks the likely leader and will be hard to run down. RECOVER LOVER (2) has also been catching the eye in recent runs and has drawn to get the run of the race, will be dangerous late. LORD PUBLISHER (3) is suited this grade but barrier 3 is never an easy task, especially with horses’ underneath that have good speed. DON DIABLO (4) steps up in grade but is improving, looks more of a novelty chance. MISTER KOPA (5) and DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (7) will be getting home well but look more novelty hopes. TUBBS FARQUHAR (6) disappointed on Friday and faces an awkward draw and TA IN ADVANCE (8) is a better hope on speed and looks to have to come from the back of the field.

Suggested Bet: MEGA MACH (1) to win.

Race 8

BEACH CAPTAIN (5) worked his way to the top last time out and performed well, he is heading in the right direction and looks a solid chance in this class of race. It isn’t the fastest front line which could invite TUMBLIN DICE (7) to have a crack for the front, if he had a couple more runs under his belt, I’d be confident in saying he could nearly cross these and win. LUHRSY (6) is holding wonderful consistency and looks to play a significant role again here. TIGER LOU (2) not at her best, place chances look best at this stage. BONSTAR (3) and THE WHIZZER (4) are novelty chances.

Tips: 5 7 6 4

Suggested Bet: BEACH CAPTAIN (5) to win.

Race 9

LAZARUS STAR (3) was a good effort chasing the highly talented Lazi Dais last time out, looks the likely leader and has options, should go very close. PINJARRA ROCKS (6) has an abundance of early speed and if he was to cross the distance would suit him but sometimes, he can become quite fiery. ART IDEAL (4) is improving and shouldn’t be far away, still have inner battles with his gait in the early parts of his WA career. FLOAT MY BOAT (2) is capable of earning, draw could be a touch awkward with DOUGS LEGACY (1) trying to hold as forward a position as possible to bring him into novelty contention.

Tips: 3 6 4 2

Suggested Bet: LAZARUS STAR (3) to win.
